History

Established in 1947.

Landry’s Seafood first made its mark as a family-owned eatery in Lafayette, Louisiana. Run out of the family’s home, it became a popular choice for locals and eventually expanded into a successful restaurant business.

In 1980, Tilman J. Fertitta became a partner in the first Landry’s Seafood in Katy, Texas, and acquired controlling interest of the restaurant in 1986. He went public with Landry’s Restaurants, Inc. in 1993, making Landry’s Seafood the flagship restaurant of a company that now boasts more than 300 properties across the United States.

Today, Landry’s Seafood continues to serve Gulf Coast-style seafood to lively and loyal clientele in 24 locations, including scenic spots on the Kemah Boardwalk in Kemah, Texas; in New Orlean’s historic French Quarter; and on the water in Destin, Florida.
