Four Points by Sheraton Galveston

I got a really good last minute deal on priceline and I was pretty excited about it at first. Not so much now.
The curtains don’t close, so don’t expect to be able to sleep in. I used hangers to hold them somewhat closed, but I was still up thanks to all the light at 7:30. I asked for ocean view and he told me he got me a great view on third floor. My view is the Wendy’s parking lot. If I stand in the corner and strain my eyes I can see the ocean. There is no seating area or table area really. Just a chair and end table or the desk. Not sure why this is considering they have room service. Where do you eat your room service? In the bed! It’s also very noisy. Loud banging doors and I can hear every move the people above me make. The restaurant is over priced and I have yet to see one person eating. I actually thought it was closed until the bartender told me it was open.
On a good note, the staff is really nice! Rooms are clean but pretty generic. Happy hour is good!
I come to Galveston all the time and tbh the la quinta is nicer along with other hotels all around for much cheaper. I was going to book for another day if I liked it, but instead I’m back on priceline so I can get another room. I’m on vacation and want to sleep in!

First time staying at a four points hotel. Clean room, comfy bed, prime location. I like the white bathroom interior and especially the body wash, shampoo and conditioner dispenser. Never saw those in any hotel.
Overall, 3.5 stars!

I booked a room at the Galveston Four Points Sheraton for the night before we were leaving on a cruise. We had previously stayed here 2 years ago, so I knew the hotel was nice, safe and comfortable. In the past two years, the hotel management has made drastic improvements. The décor has been updated. The hotel has been remodeled. The exterior has been painted & landscaped. Even the parking lot has been spruced up! The property was pretty before, and it is beautiful now. The beds were great before, and they are fantastic now. The bedding is simply gorgeous! The customer service from the entire staff is excellent.
As impressive as all the updates are, my favorite part of this property is the manager. He personally greeted me when I arrived at 10:30 am. Since then, I have seen him no less than a dozen times… meeting with a vendor, working the front desk, inspecting hallways, equipment, and the property exterior and parking lot. I have witnessed him assisting customers, holding the doors, and training his staff. I travel frequently for pleasure and for work, and I personally have never witnessed a harder working manager.
This is an excellent property, and the standards obviously start with the management and the standard he sets here.

The hotel is undergoing renovation. The lobby is done but the hallways need to be finished. That being said, the room was absolutely fabulous & comfortable. The location is perfect right across from Paradise Pier.

not only were the rooms comfortable and modern, the staff was amazing!
screwed up our reservation but the front desk girls got it squared right away. Then due to an unplanned monsoon that pretty much closed the island down, we hung out in the lobby, drank some beer, and played card games while watching football pretty much all day. Sam, Jimmy, and Chris went out of their ways to make sure we were at home, even bringing us comforters (and pillow cases hehe) when we got chilly! Then the next morning we had to get up ridiculously early to catch the shuttle to the airport and Jeramy made us a fresh pot of coffee! I can’t thank them all enough for making sure our stay was as comfortable and relaxed as possible!!! THANK YOU ALL FROM THE LOUD CARD PLAYERS ON ¹²⁄₁₃ :)

Absolutely loved my stay here. Room was spacious and clean. Included both down and polyfill pillows. Hotel was booked full but it seemed incredibly quiet, which can’t be said for the walls of most hotels. Gorgeous view of the beach. Staff was friendly and helpful. I spilled my Sonic drink in the lobby and it was cleaned up immediately (I tried to clean it myself, but they wouldn’t let me!) Convenient to the Pleasure Pier, which is across the street; that means you’re just seconds away from Bubba Gump Shrimp! Very convenient to the Strand area as well. Just go out the back and drive six blocks! Ok. So, carpet in hallway was not beautiful, but it was obvious that is was just aged and stained and not dirty. And they are remodeling. We stayed 3 nights during Dickens on the Strand and couldn’t have asked for better.

Don’t waste your money. The hotel doesn’t look anything like the pictures. Entrance and hallway were hot and humid. The floors clearly haven’t been vacuumed. When we walked into the room the bed was sloppily made and again dirty floors. We ended up purchasing a room for two nights at a better hotel just down the street. When we asked to simply cancel our room for the next night (not even requesting a refund for the first night), we were given a hard «no» because we purchased the room through expedia. I wish we took more photos to show what the room and hotel truly look like. Overall, do NOT stay here. There are much better places close by with friendlier staff and cleaner.

I will start by saying the rooms are clean and comfortable. That’s about all the good I can say. The front desk was a little clueless about reservations. The rooms are overpriced but I suppose you are paying for the location above all.
Now for the restaurant. All I can say is skip it. We waited 20 minutes for someone to take our drink order, another 15 minutes to get the drinks. The food took about an hour and 15 minutes to arrive at the table and then it was cold and tough. I think they had to find a cook on the street and drag him in to make the food. The food was just plain terrible. Our waitress told us she was a friend of the new manager and had come in to help. They were supposed to be improving their menu. I hope so. Nachos, shrimp sandwich and salads were are all terrible. How can you mess up a salad?! Well they managed to. Wendy’s is right next door. If you want lunch or dinner go there or one of the many good restaurants right along the seawall.

Didn’t stay too long but it is a convenient location on the sea wall. It seemed clean and offers a nice breakfast in the morning (not complimentary unless previously arranged). The USB plugs were out in our room and another’s room. We were both at the front desk letting them know the charger in the room didn’t work and the manager was very nice and really wanted to help. He finally remember he had a few portable chargers and gave them to us free of charge. You can tell the manager took pride in his customer service and the business he runs. I would stay here again.

This hotel is wonderful. My best friend and I wanted to have a getaway so we went to Galveston and stayed 2 nights here. Amiable staff, incredibly comfortable beds, great pool, reasonably priced stay, free coffee and waters in your room, PERFECT location (across the street from Murdochs, Pleasure Pier and the gorgeous beach!). I am definitely going back to Galveston as soon as possible and staying in this hotel again :)

Read all the reviews after I booked. I was very satisfied with my stay and could see new management had taken over and they were working round the clock while I was there.
Give them a shot. They are right on the seawall and across from pleasure pier. I was happily surprised.

We will never stay here again! We are Starwood gold members. They need renovations… new A/​C units, new carpets, updated interiors and improved security outside. This hotel has a motel feel to it.
Night 2 of our 3 night stay, our car was broken into while parked 200 feet from the front entrance. The staff seemed cold and unconcerned. The desk clerk wrote a number on a card and handed it to me without explanation. After prompting her, she said I would have to file a police report. There are homeless people hanging out right by the entry driveway.
The window A/​c units are old and loud, LOUD. This explains why we did not hear our car alarm which was parked directly across from our 2^nd floor window. The rooms are drafty, carpets filthy, interior paint is dated. The various exterior entrance doors around building are left unlocked, the keycard reader is useless.
We are Starwood Gold members, but that meant nothing here. They did not assign us adjoining rooms as we had reserved. We had to push to get the rooms changed and we’re then placed on a loud, lower floor.

Absolutely the best location on the island. Across the street from pleasure pier right on the seawall.
The entire staff including Jermaine and Mr. Khan were absolutely fantastic. Lots of smiles and asking if they could do anything for us every time they saw us. Dale in housekeeping directed us to the Free Ferry where we saw porpoises. Thank you Dale.
Complementary coffee and tea in the mornings and throughout the day was a nice bonus. We used the leather couches downstairs to watch TV and relax in between excursions.
The carpet in the hallways is absolutely horrific. I am stunned that an SPG property would even allow this. I’m not sure why it’s not tiled like other SPG properties we stayed at right on beaches. I dropped a room card on my way up to the room and did not want to pick it up because the carpet was so absolutely filthy.

Where to begin? The first room we were given had hair on the sheets, a broken cabinet door and no handle on a door leading to the balcony. When we complained we were moved to another room in another building that had a couch with disgusting stains on it and multiple other issues, including no wi-​fi service which we paid for. We had booked 3 nights by are leaving after 1. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

You expect a hotel to spike the rates in Galveston during the summer. This Sheraton didn’t — $ 249 a night. However, there’s a good reason that price doesn’t go up.
There is no complimentary anything. Breakfast? We went next door to Wendy’s. Room service? You really should go downstairs… and outside to a restaurant. We were even asked to pay extra for towels. TOWELS?!
Our keys turned off daily. The parking is not good. The staff is not friendly. Sure, they smile but who wouldn’t when they take 30% extra from your bill and don’t bother telling you why.
I just wasn’t worth the hassle. Excellent location, across from Pleasure Pier and Murdoch’s but then again, so is the Country Inn and Hotel Gálvez. Underwhelming.

Check in time is at 4pm and our 2 rooms were still not ready. Comforter was dirty and had hair in the shower told the manager so we could get our room cleaned and came back and the shower was still dirty only has 2 luggage Dolly’s for a huge hotel. Poorly ran. We most definitely not return. The pictures of this place must be old online. Would give 0 stars if I could.

This is my 2^nd stay here. If you want something convenient to the beach, pier or souvie shops this is it. I have a few complaints: hallways are muggy and hot, elevator is super slow, front desk clerk does not know what the word multitask means. No microwave in the room. Had to go to lobby to warm up leftovers. Don’t like the shampoo/​conditioner/​body wash in dispensers. Give me my own soap and shampoo in a bottle please. A/​C is noisy, bring ear plugs. Don’t expect your room to be clean if you leave the hotel after 11am.

My story with this hotel is bitter sweet. I am a bit more critical being a former employee of Sheraton and knowing the standards. My first very negative impression started with calling the hotel Sunday morning and wanting to add one more day to my existing reservation. The front desk lady told me that there are no rooms available, and when i asked to talk to the management i was told that there is no manager available. Being a member of Starwood I called and I added the extra day to my existing reservation, understanding that there were plenty of rooms available. if my reservation would have been cancelable and not prepaid I would have cancel it and went to a different hotel.
Upon my arrival I was not offered the room I was promised. But the room I stayed in was clean. The standard room was exactly as all the pictures show. There was a refrigerator in the room and coffee maker. The AC is an older unit that is under the window which you will see in many of the pics and it is very noisy. It was hard for me to sleep. The bathroom was clean but i disliked the cost cutting they applied by having the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the wall dispenser. You don’t know exactly what you wash yourself with. i would like to know what i am putting on my hair or on my body.
The bed is not the standard sheraton bed-​Sheraton Sweet Sleeper mattress– and bedding which was disappointing because that is the best future sheraton has. The comforter had a black mark on it like a shoe was rubber on it.
There are no glasses in the room, very disappointing since even cheap motels are offering glasses in the room.
Ordering food from the bar os a total pain, so don’t do it. It took them 40 min to put together a simple Caesar salad.
But the most disappointing thing is that trying to leave i had a huge problem with the road being flooded in Huston. i asked the ladies from the front desk to get more info about the road conditions by calling one of the Sheratons in Huston. But i was rejected and they offered to look at google map which I could have done it myself but to no use since google map wasn’t giving any info regarding the condition of the roads. The service is very bad. So yes I would not recommend this hotel at all. The words hospitality and courtesy dont exist with the employees of this hotel.

If you’re looking for a comfortable, clean, place to stay near the water this is a good choice. Would I stay here again? Yes, I would if it’s just a quick overnight stay like this last trip. This is not a good choice for a lengthy stay. It’s a shame too because it’s in a really great area. When you compare the other accommodations in the area you’ll probably find this will be your top choice due to location and layout.
Room: The standard room was exactly as all the pictures show. There is a refrigerator in the room and coffee maker. I think every hotel anywhere should have a fridge so that was a really nice touch.
The AC is an older unit that is under the window which you will see in many of the pics and it is very noisy. It was hard for me to sleep because the temperature in the room would not stay consistent. It seems like the AC didn’t have a proper thermostat so it would wait until it got really hot to turn back on. I woke up several times moving around because my bed had damp spots from sweating. For a place on near the beach on the gulf in a city with such high humidity central air would be a great investment for this property. If I was there a second night I certainly would have mentioned the AC issue. The thought of fully waking up and be coherent enough to make a phone call to have a solution was not an option as I was so tired after a long day of travel. I simply would wake up and move into another spot in the queen bed. (Reading another review room 207 was the same room I was in and they too complain about the noisy AC. They previously had another room and didn’t have the same complaint.)
The bathroom was clean and neat. The towels could have been of better quality. I even had a bath towel that had a hole in it.
Service: It’s always nice to see how a company handles a situation when an issue arises. I called to confirm what time breakfast was over since I reserved the breakfast rate. I was told breakfast was over at 11 am. I walked downstairs at 10:30 ready to eat and the restaurant was closed and I was told breakfast was over at 10. My friend and I had to walk about a ¼ mile to a restaurant which prepared breakfast all day. The front desk subtracted the amount for the unused breakfast.
This seems like a hotel that a lot of out of town visitors are staying. When I asked the night crew front desk for a place to eat she had no idea of where anything was. Interestingly enough right next door there was a Wendy’s. Yes Wendy’s might not be anyone’s first choice but when asking after 11 pm beggars can’t be choosers, so at least offer the idea. I’m not expecting a concierge service but if you work there chances are you live there or know the area at least have some knowledge to offer your guests about things near the property. Even if it were a list at the front desk that would be helpful. «I don’t know» should never be an answer in the service industry.
Food/​Restaurant/​Bar: Unfortunately I’m unable to tell you about it since I wasn’t able to partake. They do have a happy hour at the bar they told me about.
Pool: Nothing grand about the pool. It was clean, small, and looked out to the parking lot. It had a motel feel to it.
Gym: It had a silly access point. I was told to walk outside by the pool and go up the stairs and to the gym through the outside door. There is an entrance on the second floor however, it’s at the end of the floor and I’m assuming they give you the outdoor directions to prevent heavy gym traffic walking down the hallways near the rooms on the second floor. But the outdoor access felt unsafe. Although it’s in a gated area the gate is low and there’s easy access from the street and parking lot.
The gym is small and had necessities. Cardio machines and free weights with 2 benches.

Great place to stay before a cruise. We had a great bar tender Bill who was lots of fun and very personable.
Room was clean and spacious.
And they allow us to leave our vehicle they for the week.
The hotel is right on the Seawall and across from Pleasure Pier.
