SETA-Sacramento Works

This is a great place for searching for jobs. It is a self-​guided facility where they receive job postings from all around Sacramento and surrounding counties. There are many ways to utilize the center (other than using the internet for job search). They have information on area Job Talks, Job Fairs, and local job bulletins printed for easy searching. They offer a free typing test certified by the State, and even provide resume assistance… for FREE! ALL the services are free! All you need to do is register at
. Don’t sell this place short so quickly! Even if you don’t want one-​on-​one assistance, you can still go in and utilize the resources for free. They now even have Job Talks/​Employer Recruitment events every week! Crazy! :-)

Quite frankly, my visit to the Sacramento Works center in Galt was quite beyond poor. To be exact, it was a waste of time for me. The condescending way my girlfriend and I were spoken to by the young man at the front desk has left a bad taste with my experience there. He spoke to and treated us like we were five years old.
I have been out of work for over 18 months and my girlfriend more recently at two weeks. It was our first time there and we wanted to take the proper steps. We were directed to a computer (by the same young man) and told to sign some paperwork. We were told to treat it like a «library», yet no one else in the the place felt the need to do so.
Once we registered and began our job search, I began to feel like this was a complete waste of my time again. I was not able to narrow down a job search by location. It’s nice to see job postings all over the state, but I do not want to take a job in Southern California.
Along with that, many of the jobs «posted» on the search were jobs that could be found on other online job search engine and Craigslist. I even found two postings from Craigslist. One of them was over month old and the other was an obvious scam posting. I felt like I could have done this type of search from home.
I had the impression that this office was very disorganized at the least and unhelpful at the most. Only one star because I have to rate it somehow.
