History

Established in 1998.

AJ Schmitt was inspired by architect George Acock to resurrect older houses and make them into beautiful, contemporary homes. Initially flipping houses in desirable areas, that led to contract work with homeowners looking for help transforming their older houses. We have been fortunate to have worked with some of the area’s leading architects including Lincoln Street Studio, Collaborative Design Ltd, spgb architects, Williams Shepherd Architects, Lisa Schmitt, and Mick Ball. Our newest addition to the team is interior designer Mykel Terada.

Primarily a Central Ohio remodeling contractor, we have performed work in Cleveland, Ft. Myers Florida and Ft. Lauderdale. We also have extensive experience in commercial renovation work including tenant finish work.

Business Owner

AJ Schmitt is a licensed civil engineer who earned his degree at University of Toledo. AJ spent more than two decades in commercial construction and estimating before founding his home remodeling business 15 years ago. He has been honored with the American Institute of Architects’ President’s Award.
