The Varsity Grille

Four words… Dont waste your time! Food has no taste or is over seasoned. Look for a better place to eat.

Not impressed. Slow service. Took 45 minutes to bring our food which was just wings and a sub… this would of been understandable had the place been super busy, however there were only 6 ppl in the building. We will never spend money here again.

This used to be my favorite place in the world. The original staff has since left, which is expected, as they employ local students as waitstaff. However, their standards have also left.
The food is awful now, the portions are way too small for the price, and I always leave hungry. The salad bar is not kept up with and it’s dirty. If you sit and watch how they «take care» of the place, you won’t eat there again, guaranteed. They really have gone downhill. I won’t be eating here until they step it up quite a bit.

I came here at an off time for lunch with my grandma (about 2 pm). Before I arrived, my grandma had gotten a table and ordered a pizza. Even after I got there, it took about 20 minutes to get the pizza. The waitress was pretty good looking, but too arrogant to show any kindness. Since she was too busy chatting with other customers, she rarely checked in. We had to wait about 10 min to get a box for leftovers.
The food itself was disgusting. I’ve had WAY better boxed pizza from Walmart. It’s also hard to mess up parmesan cheese, but theirs was so clumpy that it wouldn’t come out of the shaker. I support local business, but these guys need to step it up. It won’t be soon, but if I go back, maybe I’ll have a better experience and update my review. Steer clear of this place if in Galion. There are much better places to go.
I wanted to love this place, but my FIRST EXPERIENCE here was absolutely horrible!

It’s time for a renovation here. The neon lights are cold and hard on the eyes. Burgers and a beer are the specialties but please don’t come here for a salad or buffet. Employee was emptying the trash and restocking the buffet with the same gloves. Love the employees and the fact that it’s locally owned, but it’s time to update the décor and simplify the menu for a more cohesive vision.

I am going to update my 4 star review to 5 star after the Grille hosted our 10 year reunion last night. They did a great job with everything. It’s a good place to grab food, beers and have a merry old time. Cheers to the Grille. Fight on Tigers!

Great service, extremely friendly staff. But the food is bad. The buffet is bad. The place must lack proper make-​up air from the kitchen hood so you smell like food when leaving. The very friendly folks there really should watch Gordon Ramsey’s (and I mean this sincerely because the folks were real friendly) Kitchen Nightmares and spruce up the chicken with marinade, quit the canned crap vegeterribles. I feel bad because the waitress and manager were very kind. I told them everything was great because I didn’t want to say in front of my client that «kids with Tourette’s Syndrome or ADHD would have thrown the full plate of food across the room it’s so bland». Sorry.
