Friend and I were on a bike tour and desperately needed water. The place was closed but the shop owner came to our rescue and gave us a gallon of water and a loaf of bread she made herself. Amazingly nice person.

Stopped in because a friend said the food is really good. Wasnt sure what to expect. At first glance, it is a quaint store that serves a limited menu, homemade breads, and baked goods. They also have a post office inside, a small selection of wine/beer, candy, and other necessary goods(milk, bread, cat food). As a vegetarian, I’m used to not having too much of a selection so I’m going to assume folks out in the country like their meat. There are breakfast sandwiches and each day of the week(except for Sunday, when they are closed), they offer a different special. Today, Saturday, was pulled pork. I decided on an egg and cheese sandwich on their homemade. It was REALLY good. The bread made the sandwich. My other half ate a roast beef sandwich, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Would recommend and would go back.

Good news! Gales Creek Country Store is under new ownership. It is now Gales Creek Country Store & Deli. I recently spent approximately 10 days in the area due to the death of a family member and during that time I visited Gales Creek Country Store & Deli. The owner, Amy, was so nice and compassionate when she learned the nature or my visit to the area. All of this AND she makes a great biscuits and gravy.

Four seventy-five for a pack of zig zags? Highway robbery. Don’t stop here unless you really need to.
