Wild Clover Spa

This was a nice, relaxing environment. They have all of the traditional spa services and they are located in the downtown area on main street. I had the Full Body Relax and it was great. These were my issues:
1. It was myself and my three girlfiends that were scheduled. We were all to have massages. I personally made the reservation and was not informed that two of the three massages would be by men. I know it may sound silly, but I do believe a spa should ask/​notify the customer regarding the gender of the masseuse.
2. Stairs– there were a lot. I realize that the building is very old, but if you have any issues with arthritis or difficulty climbing the stairs I would avoid this place.
3. Verification of appointment– any spa in Chicago calls to verify the day before. I did not receive any reminder whatsoever of the time of my appointment.
4. Temperature– if you go in the winter, bring a sweater. The building is old and drafty.

I have always had a great experience here but I only get massages. The staffing has changed since they moved to this space but I still get a great massage when I go. I was however taken aback when I went in this last time they have started to share their space with a lingerie or pajama store.

I should preface this review by saying that I dont think I like massages. My boyfriend spent $ 400 for us to get 1 hour massages and 1 hour facials. It felt like someone was rubbing lotion on me for an hour (for both services). It was really mediocre. The facial did not entail any scrubbing or popping that I expected. The massage was so boring I almost asked her to just stop– but I didnt want to ruin the ambiance since my bf was enjoying his facial. Don’t buy the champagne and chocolate package because all you get is a couple of wrapped candies that look like they came from Walgreens– no presentation AT ALL. And they just leave you to eat and drink on your massage tables. For this proce, you’d think they have a more appropriate space.
This place needs to stop. They are taking advantage of vacationers and you could get a much better service elsewhere.

This spa is the best you’ll find in the area. I do wish Galena had HUGE spa facilities with a gym, and etc., but in the meantime, the level of service is phenomenal.
I have gotten facials, massages, manicures, pedicures, updos, and general hair care at this spa and each time feel like I have truly been treated. And this kind of spoiling does not stop there. I live in Galena, so I just pop in anytime I want!
One thing I’ve got to emphasize is that the pedicures by Jackie are like THE BEST in the world EVER. The extra care to have your feet and legs massaged will make you need her every morning after a night out on the town.

I enjoyed the Customized Facial ($ 90) and the Moiré skincare products. The esthetician was friendly and soothingly described each step of the facial. To reach the spa, take the elevator from the lobby down one floor. Turn right, walk down the hallway, and the spa is on the left side.
