I’m Thai and it’s hard to find an «authentic» Thai restaurant. The food is delicious! The service is great. They don’t cook as spicy as in thailand, but the food is still good. Crispy duck is the best dish.

This is probably my favorite Thai place. We were lucky enough to stumble upon it one day because of Unilocal!Very small little restaurant and they are incredibly polite! They are quick to get the food to us and never have any trouble finding our house, which is quite common. We usually order Pad Thai, Pad Se Ew, Penang Curry, and basil fried rice! I usually do 2 and my boyfriend does 3, we have done 4 before but it was almost Thai chili pepper level! Delicious but very spicy!

And they’re back!!! I think the chef has changed! And they’re back to being one of the most authentic tasting Thai restaurants in the Gaithersburg area!!!

This place is a bit hidden and difficult to find at night. I had trouble finding a good Thai restaurant around this area so decided to try Thai house. I would say this place is for casual dinner. We ordered Peking duck crispy roll which is like egg roll but with Peking duck– pretty good. The panang curry(spicy) was super delicious. Even though it was spicy, it was tolerable. The only dish that I would NOT recommend is the papaya salad. It comes with one shrimp and the sauce is fishy.

I wanted to check this place out after reading all the great reviews. I had two orders of green curry with seafood(asked for it to be spicy). I’ve had this dish at many different places and Thai House is definitely not on my top 5. Thai curries in general are supposed to have a kick and packed with flavor– this place was overly sweet with no spiciness whatsoever. Lacking in flavor, flat, no vegetables… too sweet for my liking.

Nice small restaurant in Gaithersburg. Friendly service and good quality food. Pretty much the only Thai place in the area unless you go down to Rockville or Germantown. Definitely satisfies the Thai cravings.

I can see why this place gets such great reviews. Stopped in here to grab some lunch on the way to visit some family in MD one day. Ordered the dumplings(kanom jeeb I believe) and the panang beef like usual. First off WOW. The dumplings were HUGE! Probably twice as big as a lot of places have, and they were absolutely delicious. I was worried ordering right as they opened(called literally a minute after noon on saturday) as sometimes places can mess orders up when they’re first opening. They asked how I wanted the panang beef so I said however they normally do it. It was spiced perfectly! It had a great flavor to it without it being overly spicy, and since I ordered the dinner portion it was a huge serving! The beef seemed fine, as some people have previously complained about that. All in all an absolutely great thai place! I’ll definitely be stopping back in here whenver I’m home and craving thai.

I’ve always liked this place, but hadn’t been in a long time. The food was always good, the inside was always unappealing. Since the last time I was here, it looks like a new restaurant! I think it’s new carpet, furniture, flowers on the table and maybe some refreshed paint. It’s now a very warm friendly atmosphere worthy of the food and high ratings! I tried the Pad Thai for the first time. Ordered it very spicy. It was very spicy! Which is exactly what I wanted. Most restaurants sell themselves short on the amount of spice they use but Thai House does a great job. I also tried the house salad with the spicy lime dressing. The salad looked pretty but was made with iceberg lettuce and out of season tomatoes(it’s November) so I wasn’t expecting much… ITWASAWESOME! I think that spicy lime dressing could make styrofoam taste good. I’d get it again. Look forward to going back and bringing friends. Service was prompt and friendly.

This is a rather small establishment but it is my favorite thai place in the MoCo area. If you can’t find parking in the front, don’t panic. There’s plenty around the back. We had the steamed mussels as an appetizer. I couldn’t put my finger on what ingredients were used in the broth but it was savory and tangy at the same time. Very delicious. For the entrees, we ordered the beef panang and the kee mao(aka drunken noodles). The beef in the panang was soft and tender. I loved the creamy peanut butter and a hint of coconut taste. And the portions were pretty generous; enough for two people to share. You can request different levels of spiciness: little, medium, extra spicy, and very spicy for your kee mao. We ordered the medium spicy and we thought it was pretty spicy, so I can’t imagine what very spicy would taste like. Will definitely be back for more!

The last experience I had was 5 stars. I went a year before that and it was 3.5 stars — had different entrees at that time. Get the crispy basil chicken, it is a game changer. Don’t forget the drunken noodles, Panang Curry is delicious too. Sticky rice and Coconut ice cream: OMG. I found out Riesling complements thai food really well, if that’s your thing. I think this might easily be the best Thai place in the area.

Nice small restaurant located what I am told is old town gaitherburg. Although they do deliver to my apartment. Extra points for them there. The food here is very good and authentic. Their green curry is the bomb. Their seafood platter appetizer was really good. I highly recommend getting it. I can’t remember exactly what it was called because it was over a month ago when I ate their. The drunken noodle was only okay; however a little too sweet for me. I am use to a more smokey flavor. Anyways, if you like Thai food, this is the place to go or order from.

It’s probably only the third place in Gaithersburg since we moved to Maryland, but Thai House is substantially better than the place in the Washingtonian Center and most of the places on the Rockville Pike. We drove by the place a few times, so keep your eyes open for the building with the green rectangular signage. The Kee Mao(Drunken Noodles) were as fantastic as everybody promises. I was impressed by the Crab Thai Fried Rice. I had some once in San Antonio, it came out really nice once… once. The crab fried rice at Thai House was cook well. Sometimes its easier to burn, but this was done really well. We will return, and continue to venture out on the amazing menu.

VALUE: 5⁄5 SERVICE: 4⁄5 QUALITY: 4⁄5 AMBIANCE: 4⁄5 OVERALL: 4⁄5 The food here is pretty solid and delicious. Some of it can be spicy, so just choose your level. I was also pretty impressed with the portions of food. One entrée really is enough for 2 people. Laarb Gai: spicy, delicious, but it did not come with lettuce(which normally tones it down) Crispy Chicken with Fried basil Leaves: so delicious. was a group hit! Pad See Ew — solid. huge amount Pad Thai — pretty good. Curries were all favorable. Wouldn’t say anything was A++ but I think everyone was happy with our meals. We had to flag down our servers a few times for water refills, chopsticks, and such, but overall a good restaurant, as we were not expecting world class service.

Came in here based on the great Unilocal rating and reviews to try it out. I enjoy really spicy food so thai food is right up my alley and always a good go to for dining. The food here was good but not quite as spicy as I would have liked. Maybe I need to say thai hot to get them to really spice it up but the food was still good. Had the Som Tam, papaya salad, was good but just not as spicy as i normally get. Next was the Tom Yam Goong and it was very strong with lemongrass and lots of mushrooms but still good. Then the entrees were pork Panang Curry and Spicy Eggplant. The curry was excellent but seemed a little too sweet but maybe it was just that I didnt get the full spicy flavor that I wanted. But this dish was very good and would for sure try this again. The spicy eggplant was good and perfect spicy and very tasty. Dishes ordered Papaya Salad Deluxe — 3 stars Tom Yam Goong — 4 stars Panang Curry — 5 stars Spicy Eggplant — 4 stars

Through out the years Unilocal had helped me many times made my trips more pleasant either was a cross country or for work. That House is another one I founded with very little effort with the Unilocal app. Here we go… Me and my friend had just took a red-eye(5 am) from Tucson to BWI for work. by the time we fought the afternoon traffic and checked in the hotel. Both of us have very little interests going to explore the D.C. area. although we were talking about it on the way but in actuality we both just wanted to rest for the following day giving I had about an hour sleep the night before. A quick search with filter within the area… Thai House came out and seems like a good choice and its only 15 min from the hotel… off we went. Base on my «Food *hore» instinct, I immediately know this is a place will not disappoint. Its Thursday night 1945 little over one hour before their closing time. Dinning room was half filled, after sitting down the very first thing I noticed was the table… its spotless, no, they don’t have the white table lining. it just a regular restaurant table but its so clean as well as the glasses and silverware everything were free of water spots. No! I don’t have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. That’s my story and I am sticking to it! The food, ah the food… I am salivating right now as I typing, You like the visual? Good! The spring-rolls were crispy and hot out of the deep fryer but not greasy. Tom Kha Gai with full flavors, Satay is simple but grilled to the perfection… crispy outside and juicy inside. Kang Karee have some extra layers of the flavors that I haven’t had before. I think its more like they have prepared the chicken and potatoes differently. In the middle of the dinner I ask for some Thai chili peepers. They brought 3 small dishes with hot, regular peppers finely chopped and chili powder. No that I need to alter the flavors of their food any further but just wanted little spicier to my liking. I am no expert on Thai food per se, but I had some pretty amazing Thai food through out the years either was from travel or at my friend’s house. My taste-bud telling me this is what I like and they indeed better than most of the places I tried, plus, its the entire dinner experience that I like to give them 5 star. Not just the food. If you ever in the area, Its a most try.

I’m not sure why this place got such good reviews. Every dish we ordered was way too… Papaya salad — way too salty and sour Tomyum soup — way too everything Panang curry — way too sweet Pineapple fried rice — way too sweet Pad thai — way too sweet I drank so much water after this meal that I felt full from the water and not the food. I definitely think this place is catered more towards the non-authentic taste buds. The décor is really cute though and the service was good.

The REAL deal when it comes to Thai food! My stomach is grumbling thinking about the food here. The husband picked up carry out at Thai House on his way home and it was DELICIOUS! I can’t imagine eating in! Pro’s: –Food was so flavorful and very well seasoned –The spring rolls were nice and crispy. One order comes with about four or five. I can’t remember because I just kept eating them –Husband got the Lad Na… he was quiet so I knew it was good lol –The spicy green curry… omg. red alert! It was SPICY! Definitely not for the weak. I think I cried a little but it was SOGOOD! I would do it again! Con’s: –A bit pricey but you do get what you pay for. Wish there was more food in their portions. I can’t wait to try their other dishes. this maybe my new spot for Thai food! Yum!

This review is short and sweet, yes, pun is intentional! I had the chance to visit Thai House for dessert. I had the coconut ice cream with sweet sticky rice. It was heavenly. Even though I just finished dinner I could not stop eating. They served a huge portion and I scarfed down every bite of my dessert. A friend ordered the custard with sticky rice and she was kind enough to let me taste it. It was exceptional. I will definitely order that next time. So, if your sweet tooth is aching, head over to Thai House for fabulous desserts.
