ShadowLand Create A Bear

ShadowLand in Gaithersburg recently expanded, in December I think, and added this little slice of paradise. Amidst all of the gothic themed space ships and aliens there is a little room decorated brightly with flowers, mushroom houses and butterflies that allows kids, who are too young to play laser tag, a place to build their new best friend. My daughter and I happened upon this little place while my son was attending a party at the laser tag part of ShadowLand. She made an adorable little unicorn complete with an outfit and birth certificate for only 20 bucks ! She loves it, carries it all around with her and named it, much to my dismay, Uni. Not a very creative name but oh well.
I talked with one of the staff who says that they host birthday parties in that room for kids 2+ to make their own bear, the party comes with drinks, the room
(which is private and even has it’s own door) and a new buddy for each guest. I’ll be calling in to make brithday party arrangements for my daughter when school starts back up.
It’s refreshing to see ShadowLand attempting to cater to the younger kids– so parents aren’t left pulling their hair out waiting in the lobby while the older kids play laser tag.
I’m excited to see what else ShadowLand can do to help out with the younger kids. Maybe they’ll open some other kind of young kid thing. But for the mean time I’ll stick with their Create A Bear.
