One star is more than my experience was worth. Will NEVER have work done here again. Used them more than once since not far from my neighborhood. Each time with unfavorable results. Was giving them an opportunity to redeem themselves, besides, what could possibly go wrong with an oil change… Was a costly mistake. Coincidentally, as I’m standing there waiting for the owner, another customer comes in to complain about work not done properly. That spoke volumes about the quality of their work. Will NEVER use them again.

I went in to have my brakes checked. I ended up needing new brakes and rotors. They had to wait for the parts to com in, which took a while. Joe at the front desk was pleasant. The manager, Josh, apologized for the wait. I’m glad they were able to service my van the same day without an appointment.

Everytime i call to get somthing done they always say they cant do it today… they told me they only had one person working. So this guy who claims hes the manager named Josh, told me $ 250 – 350 to take the resonator off and replace it with a small pipe. its something simple that i went to Meineke in germantown they charged me $ 100. And it took 20 min. They did a amazing job. Soo Josh f*ck you!!! Stop tryin to take advantage of people. they need to step there game up. their reviews are terrible their so called manager is terrible if they dont fire him i dont see this place getting any buisness.

I took my JKU to get an aftermarket exhaust put on. I made the appointment for 730 am. I got there at 730 and wasn’t acknowledged until 750. I was quoted an hour labor, fine. My car goes into the shop at 815. A half an hour later, Josh says that it will be 1.5 labor hours because the shop has no air (as if that is my problem). But once again I agree, fine. At 9 am my car is finished and the mechanic who worked on my car tells the desk guy to make sure to add the extra half an hour of labor to my bill. So I was to pay 1.5 hours of labor when the job took like 45 minutes. Josh says fine one hour labor then says something under his breath as he goes to the back office. Terrible service, go elsewhere.

Stopped in here for an oil change because I i couldn’t get an appointment for the time I needed at Mr. Tire. When i show up for my appointment the guy at the counter informs me that they only carry the oil I needed in synthetic or synthetic blend. I asked how much it would be and he turned around, looked up at the prices and said $ 70 or $ 75. When questioned about not carrying the regular oil I needed he responded «good luck finding 5W-​20.»
I actually did have good luck finding 5W-​20 and a tire rotation across the street at Mr Tire two days later for about $ 25 out the door.

At first, Steve, the manager was polite and friendly on the phone and in person. Then later he said something mildly racist that ruffled my feathers. I don’t think he intended to be, but it still put a pretty big damper on my experience.
They don’t accept checks but you can pay with a credit or debit card. They also don’t keep a cash drawer so the manager said you can pay with cash, but must have exact change ($ 22.89 for an oil change). I thought that was a bit unusual.
Then I got my car back and it smelled like cigarettes. Gross. Drove home with my windows down to air it out and won’t be going back.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! DO NOT USE THIS SHOP!
Flowmaster exhaust system requested. Dynamax system installed. The first system they installed was completed in sub-​par fashion. The pipe bending was not correct nor symmetrical. The manager agreed that it wasn’t right and that an amateur did it. He also admitted that he pointed the problem out to the mechanic but yet still submitted it to me as a final product.
After replacing the entire system for the second time, they provided me with a product that I didn’t specify. My work order even states that I requested the Flowmaster system and not the Dynamax they installed. Completely different product.
Very unhappy with this shop. I FEEL THIS SHOP HAS SUB-​PAR QUALITY OF WORK AND DECEPTIVE BUSINESS PRACTICES. I will take my truck elsewhere to have the work corrected at my additional expense and inconvenience.

do not ever take your car there. i went in for a noise when i accelerated and they claimed it was fixed. the second time i brought it in i was told by the store manager that he rode in the car and he did not hear any noise. when i started my car within minutes of speaking to him my whole front end was shaking. i then had to wait there for another 2 hours while they tried to fix it.
they never fixed it but rather damaged other parts to my car. when i braked, turned the steering wheel and accelerated i heard the same noise.
a few weeks later my check engine light came on and i am quite certain it was from damage that they did to my car. the owner would not give me a refund for not fixing my car claiming they did all this extra work, put in parts etc but of course i never received a copy of this when i picked up my car the second time.
terrible terrible they should not be allowed to operate a business and should loose their license

One star too many!
The details are too long and upsetting to rehash. I went in to fix my car’s air conditioner and the event summary is
1) Midas made a recommendation that I purchase AC parts and they would replace them in my car.
2) Midas allowed an inexperienced mechanic to work on my car’s AC (without telling me until after I went back to complain) and did not have an experienced/​superior mechanic review and quality check his work
3) Midas will not accept that they damaged my car’s AC controls and are unable to restore it to its original condition before the fix was done
4) Midas has not offered an appropriate apology or recommendation for the poor work that was done on my car.
When I went in to complain about the AC not working correctly, I was accused of wanting extra work for free. I can’t tell you how insulting that moment was for me. From beginning to end, this ordeal lasted 4 full days and my car is NOT in its pre-​Midas condition. Based on my experience, it is clear that Midas made a false recommendation and actually did not know how to do the work.
One star is too much for these guys. I’ve had an excellent experience with a different Midas franchise in the past and these Gaithersburg fellows are ruining the name.

Worst service!!! I had to have a idler and tension replaced three times (The last two times due to them putting a faulty part on there and then the wrong part). And they placed a faulty ball joint on my car which caused my wheel to come off while driving. When I asked for a refund, the President Russ Rotruck, responded by saying «Well I’m happy you didn’t die (chuckle), but what do you want me to do about it?» He also gave me the run around when I asked him for a number to the corporate office.” The crazy part is, I specifically told Shane, a manager there, that I felt something was wrong with the ball joint that they had installed earlier in the day. His response was that it was ok. A week later, my tire is off my car and I am stranded. I would like to give them 0 or negative stars but that is not an option. Avoid this Midas at all costs unless you enjoy taking off time from work to have faulty parts replaced!!!

Don’t come here. They do a horrible job and use cheap parts. The management keeps changing every few months because the shop is run so poorly. They screwed up my breaks. I brought them back twice and they’re still messed up. They didn’t turn the rotors properly. I’m not a fan of the parent chain (NTB, etc.) because they just want to rip you off.
The staff are very unprofessional and even some are just strange and say really odd things. I even got a coupon for a free oil change because the manager said I have a nice smile. I definitely won’t use it there. From what they said, this store is the best in the area and the other stores are even more poorly run.
Avoid Midas. Seriously.
