Kentlands Dental Care

Iris, Dr. Deepa and the entire staff make you feel very welcome. From your initial call throughout your treatment you know you are in good hands. Extended weekend hours are an added bonus especially if you have any unexpected dental issues that might arise. They are very gentle and understanding and welcome any questions or concerns that you might have. Overall this has and continues to be a very positive dental experience.

Great Experience! Face it, customer service is sorely lacking in most establishments today and we grin and bare it. And being at the dentist… well, you know. But Iris and the crew always take good care of you and yes, even make you smile. They’ll work with you on payments and walk you through the process.

If only I had listen to the reviews!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTAL OFFFICE!!! Worst service ever, I took my two teens here to get braces. The front desk staff switches over ever couple of months, they messed up on my billing through care credit (now I’m paying interest) because the incompetent staff split my bill in half instead of charging me one total price. The orthodontist… where do I begin! She started off very nice was very informative, but things soon changed. Every time I went the prices were different… so I started to complain. This has just been a nightmare for me, sad part is I’m stuck until 1 year after their braces come off because they were already paid! I have already submitted my complaint with the Board of Dentistry! Avoid this place…

I wasn’t a patient here but I was forced to ruin a day off to take a family member here after they screwed up the person’s dental work the first time. They have a nice woman at the front desk but I just got a bad feeling about the place being in there. I wouldn’t use them even if it was free.

This place is actually Absurd.
I really was hoping to write a rave review for this place but I have been coming here for the past couple years and the quality is just not great. I am tired of having to come in time and time again to re-​correct my fillings. It’s frustrating and expensive. I honestly think this office is in the business to make money.
Literally 1 week after I had my filling it FELL OUT and I tried to go back and ask them to redo but of course this was my fault based on my diet. Are you serious? A filling if done correctly should not FALL OUT less then a week after it is done if done correctly. Please do not patronize me. And, then I attempted to submit a claim for my insurance and what happens? It is done incorrectly, and now they are saying I do not get any money back. Just absurd.
Ooh, and on top of this I just called because I moved out of the area and need to find a new general dentistry office and they tell me it will cost over $ 65.00 to send my records. I really hope you are joking after all this but of course they aren’t. And, please don’t tell me other offices charge, I realize that but not an unseemly amount. I wish I would have never left my previous dentist office but due to location Kentland’s was perfect, but in the end look where that got me.
Pros:
–I am going to admit I like Dr. Retiz. He has a great personality and clearly knows what he is doing (Mind you this is the only PRO!)
–The orthodontist they work with for wisdom teeth. (If you are in the Germantown area just go to his personal office because he is AMAZING)
Con:
EVERYTHING ranging from the materials used to the customer service
*If you want a great dentist, I just recommend doing your research because this place is out to make money. And, they purposely want you to keep coming back with the poor quality of materials etc.*

I am one who usually loves going to the dentist because dare I gloat, I have pretty much perfect teeth. Never had a problem with cavities or gum issues. I decided to go here since it was pretty close to my house and it was also covered through my insurance. I should have realized something was wrong when I came in, and no one realized I was there for the first fifteen minutes. The regular cleaning experience was alright — the dental hygienist was pleasant and did a thorough job which is the only thing stopping me from giving this place 1 star or 0 stars if I could. When it came time for X-​rays they pushed a panoramic X-​ray for me but didn’t explain would be an extra cost — they just shuffled me through the motions as if it were all routine. The worst part was when it came time for the dentist’s review. There was no dentist there to review. I understand if you have an emergency but the problem came when there was no follow up call or any recognition that I had actually been there until a couple weeks later when I received a ridiculous bill for 500 bucks for that X-​ray that I didn’t need or really want had I realized it was not routine. How are you going to charge me for a dental visit when there was no certified dental review?
All in all, I don’t like bashing businesses but this was so unfortunate I had to get it out.

DO NOT go to this place! We just didn’t like our initial visit, so decided it might be worth getting a second opinion. When I went to get MY x-​rays, they insisted I pay $ 22 per set for them. My insurance has already covered this expense IN FULL. The receptionist held them just out of reach until I signed agreeing to pay. That was completely irritating. The fact that some of my x-​rays were stuck together and worthless didn’t make me very happy either.
When I took my two sons to another dentist today, (only a few weeks after going to Kentlands) I found out some very interesting news. My oldest, who Kentlands Dental claimed had 6 cavities turns out to have ZERO? I don’t believe that dentistry is really that subjective.
I might also add that the push for orthodontics at Kentlands is really a bit much. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone! I am beyond happy with our new dentist. It’s always a good idea to go with your gut instinct. I’m so glad my kids aren’t going to have all the unnecessary procedures that Kentlands Dental wanted them to have just to make a buck. ($ 400 to be exact)
