Davidus Cigars

Stopped in for a new humidor. The service was great and there was a vast selection of cigars. While I was shopping, several regular customers came in and out.
I didn’t have time to replenish my stock of cigars but look forward to returning here.

Davidus on Shady Grove Road is a nice spot to stop in for a cigar or two and share good conversation with local cigar enthusiasts. The TV is a large flat screen and you can get a really good view from anywhere in the lounge. The lounge chairs are *very* comfortable and the atmosphere is nice and friendly. Cigar pricing can get expensive but they have plenty of affordable options which makes finding a cigar easy for anyone. The variety of brands is large and there’s always plenty of stock for each blend. I’m a huge fan because there’s plenty of high end cigars that are a real treat. The humidor is large and spacious, so you never run into the issue of being crowded or uncomfortably shoulder to shoulder. The staff are friendly and very knowledgable about cigars and pipe tobacco. I’m pretty certain they can answer just about any question you’ll have about cigar tobacco and smoking. The owners are hard working, always making trips from store to store to ensure the inventory is on point. I’d definitely recommend this location to anyone seeking a quality cigar store and lounge experience.

I have spent hundreds of dollars on cigars here. The one time I was in the area needing access to his wifi he said I had to buy a cigar. Terrible move being heartless, lost my business.

I have been to this place multiple times during visits to the area. They have a nice selection of cigars and decent pricing. The staff are never veey friendly especially on my last visit. I got there at 8:55. They still had the open sign on ans people smoking in the lounge but the door was locked and the guy wouldnt sell me a cigar. He said he already closed his register. Very frustrating.

The store has the same selection of cigars as other Davidus stores. I’ve enjoyed visiting their lounge in the past, but today I had to leave because the store clerk Keith was exceptionally rude. He treated me like a potential thief. It is an welcoming place when he’s there.

Been coming to Davidus Cigars for a long time. Can I get cheaper cigars online… you bet. But I can’t get the kind of help and comradery I get from the staff and their customers. Great selection of cigars and very helpful advice if you need help finding something you know nothing about. They have a lounge and big tv in the back. Always a good variety of people which leads to great conversation.

The only thing good about this place was the people I met. I could go there and talk about anything. I have never met the owners albeit have seen them many times they only speak to whomever they know. I have been a Patron for seven years well no more. Treat your customers with common decency and they will stay. I’m done!

Neither my husband nor I smoke… yet we have an unholy love for vintage tabacciana. Clearly because we’re insane, but also because some of the mid-​centure tobacco-​wares are flipping beautiful. As most of our favorite tabacciana have been mid-​century and/​or art-​deco era lighters and cigarette cases that we find at flea markets, we also have to put in some effort to clean and restore some of these items. Our most recent find was a silver cigarette case with a lighter insert, my husband and I headed over to Davidus Cigars to get some new wicks, lighter fluid, and new flints.
The nice gentleman who was helping us at the counter seemed to realize immediately that we were trying to fix an old lighter, so he chatted with my husband briefly about options. I was looking at the empty cigar cases (they’re so pretty!) that they had for sale at $ 3 each… and the nice guy told us that we could take one or two for free since we were buying so many things.

We even bought a package of slim filterless cigarettes for our lovely cigarette case. And yes, I realize that we’re insane because we don’t smoke and those cigarettes will just get stale… but hey, since we don’t smoke anyways, stale cigarettes won’t bother us. HA!

I really like Davidus, good price for pipes and pipe tobacco. I think that they have a good selection of cigars that are fairly priced as well. The people that work there are helpful and polite. I’ve never had a bad experience here. Plus you get a discount if you are police or military. You can also relax and smoke in the lounge if you want to as well.

Nice lounge, nice selection, yea a little overpriced. Free wi-​fi, good food nearby. Employees are overly friendly pushing sales. I get it, but I’m here because I want to buy something, don’t worry I will buy something lol.
Seems they have issues with shoplifting so I get all the «I’m watching you signs,» but we don’t need that. Put one sign up front and call it quits. Keep it classy Maryland. Cigar smoking people are usually pretty laid back, friendly, no bull people. We don’t cause problems.
Nice décor, local regular smokers are great people, workers are polite, just don’t follow me through the humidor, you can just watch me from security cameras lol. If i need help ill wave. I will be back.

I’ve gone there with friends looking to buy pipe or cigarette tobacco as well as cigars. My overall impression is that the staff varies wildly, from friendly to indifferent to downright rude. They seem relatively knowledgeable about cigars, but give my friends looking for cigarette tobacco (the roll your own variety) funny looks, as if it’s not worth their time to make a $ 10 sale.
They apparently also have weird stocking issues, my friend’s favorite brand of rolling paper was out of stock for weeks, and certain varieties of cigarette tobacco had sat on the shelf for so long that they were bone dry.
If you’re looking for a present or an impulse-​buy tobacco product, this place is fine, but nothing about it would make me want to come back on a regular basis.

I went there last night with my girlfriend to pick up some celebratory cigars for the new year. The manager working was a guy named Frank (I think). He was really nice and helpful, and they not only have a nice, expansive selection, but they have a lounge too.

I meet up with my buddy who lives in MD here to have cigars regularly. The staff is friendly, cigars are reasonably priced and there is a nice lounge in the back with TV and couches to enjoy your cigars and surf the web with their free WIFI.

I ventured over to Davidus to purchase some cigars for my father for his birthday. My dad enjoys cigars, but he is certainly not an afficionado.
I asked the man working for assistance in picking out a few highly rated cigars for my father to try. Not only was this employee downright rude with a horrible attitude, he refused to help me pick out cigars because I did not specifically know what my father preferred.
I am hoping I just caught this particular employee on a bad day (he seemed to be pissed off at the world), but having been refused service for not being versed in cigars I will certainly NOT be returning.
Bottom line– horrible staff and horrible experience.

I don’t buy cigars often, but this is my first, and generally only stop when I want some. Whether it’s just one for when I’m in the mood, or several for an occasion, they are always good at helping me pick from the massive selection.
Generally if you have even a vague idea of what you like, and a price range, they’ll pull up a few options for you. I’ve never had them try to upsell me or sneer when I want something inexpensive. In fact, the one time I had to buy a cutter there, the salesman (who I think was the owner or a manager) did apologize that what he suggested was more expensive, but frankly worth the money. He’s not wrong, few bucks extra has given me a great cutter, as opposed to the cheap one that would’ve probably broken after a few uses.
I haven’t had occasion to use it, but they do have a smoking lounge complete with comfy chairs and wi-​fi. I’ve been meaning to check that out for a while now.

I just started getting into cigars and this place is great for the noob or for the cigar fanatic. The person was very helpful in teaching me the proper way to prep my humidor. He even gave me great tips for the sponge + tupperware technique.
I would definitely come back here for more cigars. My friends vouch for this place too.
