Boca Botana’s Tapas Bar

Had a great evening with my wife. We tried the happy hour items and loved them all followed with the strawberry cheese cake chimichange. Great service, awesome food, and in just the right portions. Started the meal withe the hearts of palm salad and am actually feeling great after eating. Definitely recommend.

I am going to start by saying that we will be going back to try this place again and I’ll update my review after we do. I think some of the new restaurant kinks need to be worked out. We really liked the inside of the restaurant and the people who worked there were all really nice. We ordered a bunch of different small plates and the food was all very fresh. The papusas were delicious, the three sauces are really tasty, the shrimp was cooked perfectly, and the loaded potatoes bravas had a nice flavor. We thought the service was clunky though. All of our food came out all at the same time and was on one tiny table so we didn’t really have much room. I’ve been to tapas places where the food is more spread out so you can eat small bits at a time and I’ve enjoyed that. Our dirty plates when also left on our little table when we were eating the dessert. I also thought the chicken tostones was a little dry and lacked flavor. The sauces made that better. The gambrils (shrimp) was also bland. The loaded potatoes with chorizo had good flavor but the chorizo was all one big chunk that was sort of cut up underneath the potatoes but not really. It was hard to eat.
I do think these are all things that can be worked on and I think this restaurant could be so good. It’s unique for the neighborhood and the food is fresh and the menu is really interesting. I really look forward to coming back in a couple of months.

Saw the great reviews and decided to try it out for myself. Really great drink selections and the food is impressively good. The staff is very curteous and professional but also make you feel at home. Definitely a place I would recommend to friends and family.

The food was impressive in quality and flavor for a tapas restaurant, very delicious! Also the drinks were either as really good as the authentic recipes or better, will definitely come back.

Drinks are amazing, food is bursting in flavor, good music and ambience! The bartender was phenomenal and very attentive. Very excited about having this new place so close to home. Greatly recommend it!

Amazing. We heard from friends that it was good so we decided to check it out. Boy I’m glad we did. Steak churrasco and potatoes was great. My favorite was the gambas. I recommend trying this new place.

A much welcomed addition to the G-​burg area. The food, drinks, service, and ambiance were all fantastic! The owner and crew are really showing some pride and passion here.
My father and I ordered the loaded patatas bravas, pork pupusas, and chicken tostones; so much flavor in everything! The homemade hot sauce and chimichurri also offer a nice kick. The drinks were also on point. I really wish this new place much success, they got a good formula down so far. My only recommendation is for them to put some blinds or something to lower the visibility to the outside; can help to maintain the ambiance a bit more intimate.

Love this place! The food is delicious. I have been here a few times and would recommend the pork pupusas, the hearts of palm ceviche, the steak and anything with the chimichurri sauce… yum! The staff is really friendly and the place has a great atmosphere. They also have happy hour specials… always a plus.

Didn’t even know this shopping center existed. Nice date night location though, small place but full of energy and we felt comfortable at our table.
Few, but good craft beer selections, I had Flying Dog Truth IPA.

As a picky couple, the food was very good overall and was reasonably priced. There aren’t a lot of date night places in the area, we will go again to see how they progress.

Firstly, this is barely a tapas place, only just. I was pleased with the prices before ordering and even more so after seeing the size of the plates. Expect 3 or 4 plates to feed 2. We liked most of the plates we ordered, but the guashimi was entirely too citrusy, and the mango unripe. If it had been more in season, it probably would’ve been really good but unfortunately they do not use only in season ingredients. This is no true artisanal tapas bar, but it does have charm. The two drinks I ordered were uninspired and overpriced for what they were, and I had two and didn’t even feel it remotely. If you stick to beer and don’t walk in expecting something gourmet, this is a gem.

I went with my mom here for her birthday after reading stellar reviews and we were glad that we did! We went on a Tuesday and it was pretty empty. We selected a table and were promptly greeted by our server who was also bartending. She was very friendly and spoke on several menu items, including drinks. It was happy hour and there was a decent selection of food and drink specials. We ordered the pulled chicken tostones, hearts of palm (YUM!) and cheese pupusas. Everything was amazing! I ordered two different cocktails– the original sin being my fav! The owner came over and introduced himself and shook our hands, checked on the status of our food personally and was very warm and grateful for our business. We will definitely be returning with our family and friends!

Great menu selection and authenticity. I had the Tostones and the Patatas Bravas. Both were different in flavor yet equally delicious. The desserts were both very very very good. The drinks were the best part, the mamacita drink was very unique. Def coming back, friendly server & staff, great quiet environment. Six stars if I could give more!

Jaime was awesome. Empanadas was awesome. The drinks were awesome. This place was awesome. Great servers and I will most definitely return. Definitely ask for Jaime next time you are here. It was such a great experience for our girls night out

The food is excellent with authentic flavors! The kickass salmon and cocktails were delish! Put it in your list and you won’t be disappointed…

We really enjoyed our dinner! Nice selection of tapas and specials. My favorite was the fried green plantains. My husband raved about his salmon! It is small and quaint with very friendly service! You should go!

This place is new so check it out! The cheese pupusas are so delicious and crispy, I never liked the soggy ones. And the patata bravas were really good too! The housemade habanero is spicy and amazing! The service was great and they always gave what u asked for.

Was there the other day on my way home. Heard about the grand opening last week. Parking was easy an centrally located at the shopping center located 239 Muddy Branch Road Gaithersburg MD. The décor and new bar are very nice. The atmosphere had a great vibe with music in the back ground. The staff was very friendly an attentive.
One of the items I ordered was a chimichanga cheese cake with cinnamon dusting which I have never seen or eaten before. It was out of this world, delicious an I will definitely be back soon.

Nice new little quaint spot! Perfect hole in the wall to chill with friends even family! Foods great staff is super friendly and they just opened on Tuesday. Owner considers ideas. Came in and suggested a mix of 2 of their great drink and came up with an exceptional tasting drink. He had the bar tender make the mix and offered us all free shots of the new concoctions. I came in today for happy hour and had an incredible experience! The staff was amazing! My server, Mito, brought out the food very quickly, and it was delicious! I had my regular drink order that the bartender was very attentive to. The art and decoration gives the bar a rejuvenating vibe that is inviting and provides a warm, comforting feel. The restaurant itself was clean and well maintained– even the restrooms were spotless. Consider me a regular for life!
