I came in for a flat tire repair and the customer service was superb. It was a hectic, stressful situation but Trevor made the process quick and simple. Other shops in the area wouldn’t fit me in but he made sure to fit me in so I could visit my family.

Where do I begin this place use to be so trustworthy not anymore. First off calling them is a hassle because you have to press a number to talk to a live person then the phone rings for about three minutes. The customer service is terrible here as well. I asked to get a head & brake light fixed and they told me I need to get a electrical diagnostic check that is $ 118. That’s a lot of money just for some lights. I ask the rep did they check the fuse box (he told me they didn’t) I thought I took my car to professionals. Why am I telling our guys how to do your job on what to check? When they called me back they said they still couldn’t fix after «they said they check the fuse» and again recommended the electrical check. Nope not gonna happen I’ll take my car. After all that I still got charged $ 28.30 just for them to look at it. I ended up taking it elsewhere and got it fix.

Came here in a Monday thinking it would not be busy at all to do inspection and emissions and only 2 cars in front of me and ends up that I had to wait 3 – 4 hours just to get my car inspected and emissions test. The inspector there takes forever with each vehicle and looks pissed off. It should not take that long to do and they even had 2 bags open to do inspecting what the hell.

I have been coming here for years with my work vehicles and personal but today has left me a bit frustrated. The work they do is fine but my issue is making an appointment is completely pointless. I came on a Friday to setup an appointment for some time over the weekend. They offered me first available at 9am on Sunday. I am here at 9 when the doors open. I am helped quickly but my vehicle sat for 1.5 hours before it was even pulled into the bay. It was diagnosed in 5 minutes and repaired in 15. I’ll ignore the fact you are charging $ 99 for a $ 30 tire pressure sensor but why couldn’t that have been done at 9 like I scheduled it. I get weekends are busy but when it’s our only day to get errands done it’s extremely frustrating.

Stopped by for a state inspection at 8PM and they weren’t taking anymore vehicles. There were only 4 vehicles in front of me and their website said they’re open until 10PM. Very disappointed and I’m not planning on coming back.

Always get my car serviced here whether if it’s oil change, inspections, brakes, and now tires. Great friendly staff. Top notch customer service.

It took one helpful employee going above and beyond to completely change my opinion of Virginia Tire of Gainesville. I’d like to publicly thank AMANDA SIMPSON for her exemplary service this morning.
My brother took my car for inspection since I had gotten a ticket for an expired sticker. As other reviewers have mentioned, this shop has a reputation for always finding something wrong on an inspection, and there were several fixes required resulting of a bill for almost $ 150. Instead of carefully filing the receipt to take to court, I added it to one of the many paper mountains in my home. As I went to pick up the receipt for my court date, it was nowhere to be found.
In desperation I called Va Tire to see if there was anyway I could stop by the shop and have a duplicate printed. Amanda searched the database looking for the receipt, and was still patient and kind when we realized that the repair was under my husband’s name when she had searched my name and my brother’s name. Then to make it even easier on me, she emailed the receipt so that I wouldn’t have to stop at the shop on my way to traffic court in Fairfax.
In the past I have driven to Manassas to avoid this shop. I will now be a regular customer thanks to Amanda’s extraordinary service. BTW, I had the fine waived since I could prove I had gotten the inspection :)

Ok, her we go with the Update, Like I say before I took my truck to another place where the guy that look at the truck saw the failed sticker and ask me why didn’t pass, so I told him that I will like him to check the truck first and then I will tell him the reason why «apparently it fails»
So he proceed to check the truck and indeed found something, he explain me what it was, he also told me it wasn’t a reason to fail the truck, but just to be on the safe side I replace the part that was «ABOUT» to go bad (Not Bad) and took it back to him for the safety and emissions, the truck PASS without problems.
I spent $ 60.94 on parts (Not $ 900.00 + as they wanted) and did the repair myself in less than an hour, Honesty is something that this people need to learn, I’ll never will go back and Of Course I’ll not recommend them to anyone, not everybody is naïve, and is a lot of people out there (Like me) that know what their are doing, I do repair ALL my vehicles no matter what it is to be fooled by any SALES MAN!!!
I like to promote and support local business but this one is in the «Black List» I know that they want to make profit for what they do but $ 900.00 + dollars. for a $ 60.00 dollars parts. that is Ridiculous!!! I wish I could show a copy of the estimate here…

Sunday ²⁄₂₁: Here today to get 4 new tires. I’m already struggling with the thought of dropping this amount of cash, but it’s a necessity. Overall I like VA Tire. They are a chain that I assume is franchised???, and is packaged to look very clean, friendly and not intimidating to women. The customer service is usually on par. My gripe is regarding my online scheduling experience that seemed to be an epic fail.
Friday ²⁄₁₉: I selected 4 tires and made my reservation online based on the next available appt. I received a call about an hour later from their call center rep to confirm my appointment date and time, but she informed me that the tire I selected was not in stock and would need to be ordered. Hmmm… okay. So we go back and forth trying to find a similar tire in regards to price and tread wear rating. Lo and behold all of the tires she tells me about cost more and are about 10−20k lower in tread wear ratings. She also asks me if I’ve ever taken my car to another VA Tire location that I’ve never visited. (I’ve only been to 2). So she has to call me back to do a little more research on available tires that match what I’m looking for. She calls me back and at this point I’m annoyed because she doesn’t seem to know what she’s doing. Questioning if I was sure of the tire size, etc. Was she even looking at my profile? So I tell her I need to call her back (it was similar to talking to a customer service rep off shore). I then proceed directly to the store I selected, to complete my appointment in person. The young lady that helped me there was very friendly and she found 4 tires for my car. (I had the tire size right.) I noticed that two other cars I used to own were on my profile and my contact info was way out dated so she updated my info too. (I wonder if the person I spoke with on the phone was looking at my other cars when questioning tire size?) So the young lady at the store re-​confirmed my appt, with the car that needs service and the 4 [different] tires I picked and printed out my scheduled service appointment.
Back to Sunday ²⁄₂₁: I get here at 9am, present my appointment confirmation, only to be told by a male front desk rep that 1) my appt for today is not in the system and 2) we’ll try to squeeze you in. Apparently I’m one of multiple appointments that didn’t appear in their database this morning and since that was the case, the proof I was holding in my hand didn’t mean a hill of beans! I immediately got angry. Not out burst angry… but internally. So I submitted to the option of being «squeezed in» because I’m desperate! I NEED tires. Needed them before #Jonas2016, but didn’t have the funds. I felt dismissed. Luckily one of the crew members that is actually working on the vehicles saw the interaction and told me he’d take my car now.
Now VA Tire, you know good and damn well that if you live in and around NOVA… you NEED your car. Getting our vehicles serviced is stressful and at times costly! The last thing we need is to be encountered by hiccups in your process/​system. Either you need to upgrade your database/​system so that your front desk reps aren’t looking helpless and then providing poor customer service and reacting negatively towards your customers who are expecting to have an appointment, or you need to implement another round of training in customer service. We understand… shit happens, but how your customer service agents handle it is the key! My reaction was based off of how he handled it. It was the straw that broke the camel’s back after an already exasperating experience with actually getting the appointment. Pretty much all that effort for nothing.

Stay AWAY! ZERO STARS! This is the worst tire shop and I would not want my worst enemy to come here. I took my camaro for tires and brakes…
What I got was interaction with the dumbest and worst auto business. They had the wrong tires which are special ordered and not stock. They fixed my brakes and then broke my ABS. They called and said the ABS light was on. WTF. When I got my car, 5 lights were on. No Stabilitrack and no traction control. The manager told me to be careful driving my bald tires with all that crap not working and it was raining. Seriously!!! They said they would fix the ABS free of charge. REAALLLLLY! THEY BROKE IT SO YES THEY SHOULD FIX IT!!! WOW BUSINESS OF THE YEAR!!!
When my second order of tires came in, I dropped it off at 5 pm because they said they could get it in. The next day on my way home from work I called to find out if it was ready and it supposedly was. WHAT WAS I THINKING!!! People actually perform services rendered??? The next morning, I have a flat. I drove it from the shop to my garage. The tire has 19 PSI when it should have 35 – 40. LMAO! This place is awesome isn’t it.
I spent $ 2970 for 4 tires and brakes. What did I get??? 4 days without my car; 5 days driving it without ABS, Stabilitrack, and traction control; 1 flat tire, a huge freaking headache, 2 conversations with the manager which was useless, and fears of my tires falling off my car.
Unfortunately, the saga will continue as I am taking it back again today for them to fix the flat tire. I am almost sure they installed it wrong. I wonder what they will do to my car this time???
I detest VA tire and will never use them again. This is a shame as I thought they were a family business. We rely on our vehicles to get us from point A to point B safely. This business has not done that and I am tired of not feeling safe in my own car. I hope and pray I will not have anymore issues with VA tire as I just want what I paid for and did not receive. Once I have 4 functional tires and no more issues with their poor quality of work, I will never EVER deal with this business again.

First Visit Experience: Went to the shop and dropped off our car. They claimed that the crank shaft pulley needs to be replaced for $ 468. Thought this was unusual, so took our car to another place for a second opinion and they claimed that only the belt tensioner needs to be replaced. Virginia Tire & Auto almost riped us off!
Unbeknownst to us, my father in law also visited the shop to get his truck inspected. Failed inspection, as they gave him a bucket list of things that needed to be replaced, he too thought it was veryyyy unusual, so took his car to another place and passed without any questions. Again, almost riped my father in law as well!
I would stay away from this place. If you are not too sure, get a second opinion at another shop. Use caution.

Great friendly and courteous service and loved that I was able to get my emissions done on a weekend evening.

I’ve used this location several times, but I will only use it for basic service; oil changes, tires, inspection. Anything more and I will go to another shop.
Most of the staff is friendly over the phone and in person, but when delivering you information about what needs to be serviced on your car, they come across as bored, and like they don’t care, they have very little empathy.
One time I called and made an appointment, and when I showed up they told me I was an hour late. Normally I wouldn’t have argued but my husband was in the car with me when I made the appointment and he heard me repeat the appointment date and time and he showed up with me when we dropped the vehicle off. They were insistent that the mistake was mine. At the point that I was there, is it really relevant whose «fault» it is. Are you or aren’t you able to complete the service? I’m pretty sure it was just on oil change too.
Another time, we came in because our air conditioner was blowing warm air. They did an $ 80 «diagnostic» which didn’t show anything, so they had to do another «diagnostic» for another $ 115 to further see what was going on. We did not have them do the $ 115, we left and had the service down elsewhere.
The latest visit, the cloth fabric on the passenger side door is coming off and I asked that they see if they could do anything. Our car is a 10 year old vehicle. I honestly don’t need it to look beautiful, I just need it to be put back. They said they couldn’t do anything and didn’t offer any suggestions on how to repair it until I pressed the counter person for what I could do. He referred me to a body shop. When I got in the car to leave, my seat was black with dirt and the sticker for the oil change reminder was on the seat not in the window. I know these sound like small things, but it’s the little things that when they are taken care of make big things easier to deal with but when not handled properly, can make the big things seem even bigger.
I did also get tires here because they offer the free rotation and will replace the tire if anything happens within a certain timeframe or mileage. I do like that they stand behind their tires.

I have been going to Virginia Tire & Auto for almost 9 years and the service continues to excel! Yes, I could take my car to Jiffy Lube and be out in 30 minutes, but then I will be hassled to buy «additional» or manufacturers, so they say, improvements needed. I never have to go through that here.
The service is great and very polite. I get good advice when I ask and they don’t try to sell me something I don’t need.
The waiting area is very clean and comfortable, it does not seem like I am sitting in a gas station waiting room unlike Jiffy Lube where it does appear that way.
I get good value for my money here and the staff goes the extra mile to provide excellent service for me and my car. On my last visit they even through in a free tire rotation which saved me $ 20! Plus everytime you check in on Unilocal you get $ 10 off an oil change!

I was very pleased with the service provided by Virginia Tires and Auto in Gainesville, VA. I was leaving for vacation, supposed to depart at 9am. Got a screw in my tire. By the time I made it to VA Tires, the tire was almost completely flat. I explained the situation to the rep, Jeff. He was able to get my tire replaced in an hour. He was also very honest and did not try to sell or push anything extra. Overall great experience.

Took it to Joyce Koons Honda on Saturday, July 25, 2015. My honda passed the inspection and they replaced the light bulb. They didn’t find any issue with the window tint or «wiggly/​loose» seat.
I really appreciate Virginia Tire Auto for reaching out via Unilocal,but asking me to contact them is unacceptable. They really should’ve just given me a phone call.

I’ve used them a few times but unless I get a head injury I’ll never be back.
Last time I was there I was quoted $ 1,700+ for a new AC compressor. There were so many charges for labor a guy that tried to help me was confused. Seeing the part was only $ 600 I assume the labor was for someone to spend 40 hours on it? After reviewing it I figured out I would have been charged their «standard» hours for each part of the AC compressor. I’m not sure why they wouldn’t just charge the actual hours the guy would be working on it. I was told 1.5 hours to drain, 2.5 hours to change the compressor, 1.5 hours to charge it, and the guy kept spitting out individual labor charges for each step.
I called another place that said they could do the AC compressor for $ 875+tax
I decided to take a 3^rd option and go to the dealership which was just under $ 900
The time before I got a quote for my AC I got 4 new tires for my vehicle. Even with an appointment it took almost 4 hours.
Virginia Tire and Auto are proof that a good location is all you need to make it in business sometimes.

Despite this location being incredibly convenient to our home and the availability of a shuttle… we cannot come back. After giving them FOUR chances with our two vehicles and very simple tasks (flat tire, state inspection, oil change) they failed to meet expectations each time. Unfortunately, we will have to find auto care elsewhere.

With our two cars, I feel like I practically live here. While the service is always friendly, and they always call you before making any costly repairs to your vehicle, the labor and parts are just that — extremely costly. I suppose once I win the lottery, I’ll be buying a couple of new cars. :-)

No longer providing state inspections, just revenue inspections. Missing a clamp on a dust cover for the steering rack caused my car to fail. Car has been there multiple times before and PASSED. Inspector needs head examined, they must have new management or have to pay for their new renovations. View the REAL requirements on the state police website and don’t let them railroad you for labor revenue. I took my car down the street and passed in 10 min, in and out.
I don’t blame the shop but they do control the inspectors and what will fly. If you want to keep pissing off existing customers with your BS, keep it up. You lost me over a 5 $ clamp and BS dust cover that is NOT part of the inspection process. You guys are the one who FAILED, and I have a new inspection sticker on my car no thanks to you.
