Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Gainesville Downtown

If you are thinking the pool is not chlorinated you would be wrong. The pool is also very small and cold. Other than that it is a great hotel with a nice breakfast. I would recommend if you are not interested in swimming.

Holy cow, best Hampton Inn we have ever stayed at and we stay at a lot! The entire staff from the front desk to the maintence were friendly and helpful, they seemed genuinely happy to be working there! Breakfast was great all 3 mornings, location is perfect ! We even got a discount at a great restaurant showing our room card!

This was my first time ever staying in a hotel in Gainesville. On previous trips I have always stayed with friends but due to circumstances on this recent trip, a hotel was needed. The location is perfect. We were in town for a friend’s show at a bar downtown and we were able to easily walk there.
We rented a suite as there were 5 of us sharing the room. It was very spacious and there were a lot of sleeping spots. The lobby was very nice and there is breakfast included, as well. I will definitely stay here again as you cannot beat the downtown location!

Great location central to all of the nightlife and dining options in downtown Gainesville. The staff were very helpful as this was my first trip to Gainesville and gave me suggestions on where to go and what to do. I was given a little map of downtown which had offers for XX% off at various spots downtown which I forgot to use the discounts but none the less were there. The hotel overall was quite and clean and the breakfast options were vast and quite tasty.

Clean, convenient location, friendly staff. Hotel is squeezed into a downtown location which makes for an odd layout but makes for close proximity to great local restaurants. They have a small pool which is enhanced by a endless jet allowing you to swim almost stationary.

Overall experience was good. The room was spacious, the beds were cozy, and the staff was nice. Everything went well, the only thing is that it was really expensive. Just for one night, we payed over $ 200. The hotel was clean, and everything was great.

Nice place to stay, very clean and staff is nice. They had complimentary beer and wine in the lobby which I’ve never seen before. It’s located in downtown area where you can walk to sine really good restaurants. The only downside is that right across the street is the park where people sleep at.

I checked into this hotel with high expectations considering it was the highest priced in Gainesville. The location is amazing and allows you to walk to majority of the hot downtown restaurants and bars. The second floor gym and tea bar were well stocked. The ladies at the front desk extremely helpful and friendly. The downfalls… There was a post-​it note that said the duvet and sheets were clean for my arrival. SERIOUSLY!!! Are the rooms not normally clean is there a need for a tacky post it note?! (Pictures attached) Then I noticed the carpet was dated and is actually missing pieces. Oh dear. Then I go into the bathroom and apparently the grout is the original grout from 1800, This room was screaming remodel… I’m disappointed but I have high hopes management will keep the Hampton brand and update this location.

Right downtown, near some semi-​trendy spots, this hotel is truly great for folks looking for what counts as adventure in Gainesville. If you take a walk late at night, you may be solicited by creative entrepreneurs but… In the south, everyone is polite and you have nothing to worry about. Trust me!
As for the hotel itself, the service is spot-​on and the rooms are comfy!
One final note: self-​parking is $ 9 but valet parking is $ 10. It’s all about the convenience of valet parking in my not-​so-​humble opinion!

By far this is better than an average hotel visit. This one was very clean and had great staff on hand.
The best part about this place was the location– located next to a lot of bars and restaurants.
Oh as a tip — At 5pm ish they bring out free beer and cookies in the lobby. Don’t be too late!

What a great location! Right in the middle of downtown, within walkin distance of a lot of really cool bars and restaurants, and also within walking distance of where I need to work, I couldn’t ask for more! Parking is reasonable in the garage next door (only $ 5 a day), the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was spacious with lots of room in the bathroom, and the bed, as always, was extremely comfortable. With their complimentary hot breakfasts that are above and beyond the standard hotel breakfast, along with a complimentary manager’s cocktail reception in the evening, they really do work to make sure their guests feel at home.

Centrally located in Downtown Gainesville, the Hampton Inn & Suites is a great place to stay whether you’re in town for business or pleasure.
On a recent business trip, we were looking for location and ease of access, and the Hampton Inn delivered. Easily accessible from the airport, and literally across the street from the courthouse, we could not have asked for a better location.
The rooms are fairly large, with plenty of bathroom space. The beds are comfy, and the desk area offers plenty of room to sread out your papers and/​or laptop to get your work done,
There’s a free hot breakfast till 10:00 on the second floor. It’s not really all that great, but it’s included in the price of your room, so why not take advantage?
The front desk staff is both friendly and helpful. I needed directions to the Jacksonville airport for my return flight, and they were eager to assist and offer advice regarding the various speed traps set up along that route.
The prices are on par with Hampton Inns I’ve stayed at in other cities. While it might not be the cheapest place in town to stay, it was definitely the most convenient for me. Next time I need to be in Gainesville, I’ll be sure to stay at the Hampton Inn.

I stayed here for Fest and it’s really nice. Clean rooms and well decorated.

ughh. this terrible hotel denied a bride and groom a hotel on their wedding night because of an oversight. They were made to believe their reservation was secure (I don’t know, maybe because they rented out the conference room for a rehearsal dinner and booked a whole block of rooms for about 20 wedding guests) They even had a piece of paper with «Friday and Saturday» seemingly confirmed. I don’t care how the oversight happened, if a hotel is getting that much revenue from wedding guests, they should have comped a room at another hotel for the newlyweds.
They did give us a complimentary toothbrush and it came in handy when I vomited from disgust.

I can’t sit here and say that I’m generally a fan of Hampton Inn, but this was was just spectacular. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean. The water pressure was great. The Continental breakfast was yummy and included cereals, fresh fruit, cinnamon buns, bagels, eggs, sausage and a waffle station. Also, the hotel offers freshly baked cookies around 6PM in the evening. The hotels is in an awesome location in Gainesville and is in close proximity to local bars and restaurants. Minus 1 star for the parking garage not being able to accommodate elderly or handicapped people (you have to walk up 5 or so steps before you can get to the elevator which makes it suitcase unfriendly too)!
Also, a huge Gator (in the tile) greets you upon entry!
