My sister and I came to have lunch here. The place seems super cool and laid back which I really liked! Nice neat place. Besides the looks and coolness of the place, the service was terrible and slow. If it were busy I could have looked past this. There were only 6 or 7 others in the restaurant and they were all at the bar. Regulars maybe, because the servers seemed to ignore us for the most part to continue chatting with them. Still, we stayed and ordered some food. I didn’t feel like having an alcoholic beverage since it was still to early in the day for that. For me at least. The server seemed very dissatisfied that we only ordered glasses of water. The food however was okay. Just okay. I asked for my burger to be cooked medium and it came out well done. I didn’t even bother asking them to remake it, I was hungry and didn’t want that to take to long. My sisters boyfriend was working there as a cook at the time, so at least the French fries came out decent. Although who messes those up? He even said the rest of the chefs there had no idea what they were doing. Maybe that’s why my burger was well done instead of medium. I had heard good things about this place so I came with high expectations. Maybe that’s why I’m so disappointed. I POSTEDTHISTOTHEWRONGLOCATION! Since I made the mistake I changed the 2 stars to 5 stars. My bad! Just don’t go to the New Albany one!

My bf and I got invited out yesterday for 4th of July drinks and to sit pool side .we had been wanting to try this out for some time and also wanted to know about moving, location ect, upon arriving inside we had a female bartender she was nice and helped us get some drinks. After going outside we met with a few friends and walked around. Upon getting back to the pool we decided that we wanted to sit outside and at a table so that we were comfortable in some shade. once we was to sat we were going to order a round of drinks and stay… as I walked up to the table to sit the umbrella was down and after 5 attempts(mean while the bar and I’m sure everyone else watching) failed I went to a male bartender and asked if he could please put the umbrella up. he said yes and a women bartender walked up gave us a dirty look and went to the back where I could hear her saying rude things about us sitting there and what I can only assume her telling this man to not only help us but not to go out and put the umbrella up so we could sit. after noticing I decided that it was a wrap and we was leaving. As guests being the first time I was in complete shock not only for the service the very poor service we got but how rude the 2 bartenders are and how they totally ignored us .as a grown adult and my bf who’s is a well respected chef I’m Columbus we know when their is a time and place for pda and affection. Not everyone is fine with the whole gay thing that just comes with the territory. But the fact that we had quite a bit of distance between us with drinks in our hands to be treated as if we didn’t belong there is not only rude, shameful but discriminatory. we would of loved to have stayed spent some more money and tried the menu out but we left. I was already embarrassed enough with not being able to get the umbrella up. But to have to walk out and cut our plans short. I can assure you we most likely not the only gays in the area but I can also assure that we did not do anything that would make anyone feel uncomfortable with our presence. I’m not sure if we will ever go back normally I would of made a scene but for the sake of my friends who invited me, and for the holiday I let this go.

Awful! Absolutely aweful. It’s a great idea to have this place on site, and the LC promotes that fact too when trying to woo you to live here. Poolside, has a bar there too – nice little outdoor sitting area. Seems great. Except service is awful! When we first moved here in April and waited forever for service(and to look at one of the two menus they had – no joke) we chalked it up to still being spring. I can understand not wanting to hire people and not need them. It’s summertime now. That place and the pool are packed, especially on the weekends. We go this past weekend, grab a seat outside, and wait. And wait. Maybe half the tables were full, so we gave them the benefit of the doubt, and waited some more. After ten minutes we asked the bar tender if there was someone serving outside. Got a super rude short response telling me and my wife that there is, and we just have to look for them. Wow! Ok. So we left. That was a Saturday night. Not super busy but busy enough I guess. Or maybe it was Sunday. Anyhow, outside of that guy being a jerk my main concern is why they don’t have more people serving?! Two people? This place is huge, there are tons of people here. You have two people on staff for a weekend evening! That’s garbage! I’ve been trying to call and complain to these people but haven’t gotten ahold of anyone yet. Someone was suppose to call me back – haven’t heard back. Not surprising considering the lack of service you get while attempting to actually spend money there. Anyhow, I doubt I’ll be back. It’s cool having this place on premises where I live but to go and wait forever and still get no service, the not exactly a peek to me. They need to get it together. I don’t know what the LC can do, but they should put some pressure on too because that kind of crap service on their property is a direct reflection of them – no two ways about it. Decided to update this since a supervisor did call me back, apologized, and admitted they are under staff and looking to hire. That something I guess. I’ll try it again and hope for the best.

There is always loud music blaring inside, so it’s hard to hear the person sitting next to you. Sitting outside in the summer is nice, but then you will be breathing smoke from people smoking on the patio the whole time. I go to the goat solely for their burgers and sweet potato fries — both awesome items on their menu. However, the service is always terrible, and it takes FOREVER for our food to come out. My last visit there was on a weekend afternoon — the pool was open, so I understand that the workers were busy. However, I had to go find someone after waiting 5 minutes at my table to come get us drinks. 10 minutes later, I had to hunt the waiter down and ask if we could place an order(a waitress/bartender kept walking past us checking her phone, not even acknowledging us). There were only a few of us, ordering 2 salads and a burger. It took over an hour for the food to come out. People that had ordered food at the pool before us received their food a half hour before us — we kept seeing food come out, but it was never ours. It should take 20 minutes tops to make a burger and salad! Regardless of how busy they are. We had to go ask our waiter where our food was, as we saw it in the food window for over 5 minutes and eye about to go get it ourselves. The waiter was nice, the food is good, but I don’t recommend going to sit down and eat on a weekend for lunch(when the pool is open), or if you are looking for a quiet place to eat your dinner.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first went to the goat but the new menu is amazing. I am a resident and get dinner from here a few times a month because it is convenient and better than a lot of other American chain places. Prices are very reasonable, food is quality. Good place to grab a beer and hangout too.

happy hour 4 – 7 pm weekdays. Food is really good with decent prices. Drinks/beer cost more than most nearby bars during normal hours.

I was a little skeptical about coming here. I didn’t know if I was going to run into a bunch of college kids or a bunch of high testosterone guys, looking for a fight. Well, it was neither. The environment was very relaxed and the staff was amazing and extremely friendly. We arrived around 2am thinking that they would only tell us to leave, but they invited us in and even allowed us to put a drink in the hole. I’m looking forward to coming back and spending more time there, I’ll definitely be coming back.

I don’t live in the condos there but sometimes head out for a beer and great atmosphere. Good people, good food, and cold beer. Highly suggest checking it out.

I used to live at the Preserve Crossing community, and I’ll be honest… one of the biggest selling points of this place was the walking distance to The Goat. Too perfect. Especially in the summertime. The Goat comes equipped with a jukebox, tvs, couches, outdoor seating, indoor seating, cornhole, and a view of the pool/volleyball courts. The bartenders(in my experience) were always extra friendly and welcoming, and the crowd was great too. I met a lot of interesting people here. Most importantly, The Goat is clean and under-utilized. It’s not really a good final destination as there are never TOO many people, but it’s a great place to pre-game or just stop for a few drinks. The Goat certainly served me well during my one year at the Villages at Preserve Crossing.

The Goat is the neighborhood watering hole for the residents of the Preserve Crossing Lifestyle Community which is located in the Club House. This place is soooo cooool that I almost feel like moving into the neighborhood, but my wife won’t let me! We brought my in-laws here for an OSU football game recently. It’s very hip, trendy and cozy all at the same time. They’ve got plenty of flat screens to enjoy your favorite sporting event. The furniture is very unique and quite comfortable. They’ve simulated a home-away-from-home atmosphere where you feel like someone built a bar in the middle of your living room(and invited over a bunch of strangers to celebrate too). Right outside the patio doorways is the lavish and expansive swimming pool area surrounded by chairs, tables, cornhole boards and propane grills. This truly is a summertime sanctuary. But, if it’s too cold for the pool, you can still enjoy the warmth of this pub and its wonderful food and drink menu year round. The best part about The Goat is that nobody really knows about it(yet), because it’s tucked away in the middle of this sprawling condo community in the hinterlands of the Gahanna/Columbus tundra. So, it is never very crowded even for Buckeye games. Now that you know about this«best kept» secret — do me a favor… DON’T TELLANYONE!!!
