Ganache Dessert Kitchen

This place is a cute little shop in the same strip mall as one of the sushi restaurants that I frequent quite a bit for their spicy tuna rolls but, even though I go to the sushi place often I never noticed the bakery and only found out about it a few days ago on Unilocal.Yesterday, I went to that same strip mall with a friend specifically to come to Genache. I walked in to the small shop and began looking at the selection of all sorts of beautiful looking desserts. A friendly woman came out from the back, greeted us and asked if we had ever tried their genache that they put into all of their chocolate desserts. After telling her that this was our first visit she handed over two spoons of genache and it was everything that chocolate should be. This is not low-​quality stuff in the least.
My friend and I ended up deciding on a turtle upcake, a berry tart, and four truffles (two filled with caramel and two filled with a raspberry filling) which all came up to around 14 dollars. The upcake was delicious, the berry tart was delicious but, the really amazing things were those truffles. They were some of the best I’ve had and after finishing them all off it’s extremely hard not to want to drive straight over to Genache as soon as I get the next chance and buy a box full of those totally amazing chocolate delights. If I wasn’t a responsible person then I could probably happily spend every dollar I have at this place but, since rent is fairly important I will just have to practice some self-​control. :P
I will tell you though that this place is going to see my face quite a bit as long as they keep making those delicious truffles. I’m a fan.

A love letter to Ganache,
Oh Ganache. You are the closest cupcake place to my home and out of all the cupcake places in Columbus I’m so glad it’s you! Your taste never lets me down, you always give me free samples, and your staff is always very patient as I stare at your cases. You never complain when I ask you to ice a cupcake special for my husband since he only like the plain ones, and you taste fantastic even the day after.
Your cupcakes are also larger than the average cupcakes around town but your price for them is still pretty much the same. All in all, I would totes make you my Valentine if I could. But since you’re a store and there are laws again that, I’ll just buy a cupcake for Valentine’s Day instead.

cupcakes were fine, but the service we received was well below acceptable. I was visiting from out of town and my sister-​in-​law really wanted me to try their «upcakes», so we drove all the way from Dublin to try it and the woman behind the counter was impatient, rude and obnoxious. She actually rolled her eyes and sighed numerous times because we were unsure of what we wanted and because she forgot to add something to one of our orders (her fault), also as a side note, there were NO customers waiting after us… so, to say the least, that experience made the delicious cupcakes taste like dirt. My sister said she probably won’t go back because of her… so sad. One star rating for crappy customer service.
