Harris Teeter

The STORE would not take our check from USAA because it didn’t have a local address on it. I told them that we are military and they still wouldn’t take it. The Casio paged for the manager and someone said she had went outside. The bagger ran outside and told the manager what was going on and the manager wanted the cashier to come outside to her because she was smoking a cigarette. So the cashier went outside to speak to the manager and came back in with the manager. The manager Terri said that they could not take the check. I told her the store takes it from me all the time and so I asked to speak to her supervisor. She huffed and puffed and told me she was the manager and said, «I guess I can call corporate». Terri was very rude and very unprofessional while smelling like an ashtray. She went to the front desk to call corporate and their office is closed. She came back and said we cannot take the check and then asked if we had an ID with our local address on it. Yes we did but this whole thing could have been avoided if they would have asked for an ID to begin with! So my husband and I stood there for about 20 minutes at the register being embarrassed when all they had to do was ask for ID. We have never had this experience with Harris Teeter before. It seems as though this manager may need to have A different job other than customer service.

I really love this HT. Every employee I’ve ever dealt with (in 8 years of coming here) has been nothing but helpful. I’m a Kroger/​Food Lion/​Walmart hater because their quality is terrible and the stores are gross, even if they are cheaper, so of course I’m going to HT. I have 3 within just a few miles but I choose this one every time.

Very nice store manager. Clean store. Amanda is great. Rather shop there then Walmart right down the street. The only thing is the prices are so damn high. Their house brand stuff is priced very high. I bet they make a ton of profit on that. I shop there at least twice a week. I guess I will pay more for items to have a clean store.

This store has always been great and has some of the friendliest cashiers around.

Harris is the best and generous when it comes to coupons and weekly sale items… Love their Buy 2 and Get 3 Free sales!!!
