Not an Irish thing about it. Staff except our bartender was HORRID and not helpful. Standing around. Music was wretched. The DJ was a joke. The atmosphere was terrible. If you’re going to be open till two be open till two. Tables all outside being brought in early on a nice night. Never again.

Stopped in for a quick bite with our grandson, who told us the fries were great. We ordered for Declan and asked for it to be brought out quickly, and they made it happen. Unfortunately, he changed his mind from Mac & Cheese to Grilled Cheese in the interim and we had to order a second meal. Their beer selection is pretty good and I enjoyed a Jailbreak, The Infinite as well as a Devil’s Backbone Striped Bass Pale Ale. Carol had a House Cab. We had the Tuna Salad Melt and the College Park Chicken sandwich, both of which were quite good. Fries with both so we opted to bring half of our meal home with us. Very personable staff and quick service. The fries WERE very good!

Looney has it’s positive as well as it’s negatives. This location has a good size and plenty of TV’s for your viewing pleasure. They have about 4 – 5 very large TV’s which include a couple of projectors as well as plenty of smaller TV’s mounted where ever there space. The good news is you’ll probably be able to find the game you’re looking for. The bad news is that the LARGETV’s will be preset and if your game isn’t the preset game you’ll be a little out of luck. The popular sport will win out, think Ravens over Redskins, hockey over basketball, O’s over Nats etc which is fair but sucks when the bar is pretty empty but they still can’t change the game. The food is solid, it won’t knock your socks off but it will give you something to enjoy. The burgers are solid though. They have a good selection of draft and bottled beer as well as good drink specials like a $ 4 craft beer during happy hour. They run a trivia, have live bands on the weekends(hit or miss) and night time DJ’s. It’s a cool local place to chill. Depending on crowd late night can get a little crazy, think locals drinkings with not too far to drive home. Overall its an okay place, not the worst place to grab a burger and some drinks. As a beer guy I think they don’t always let the glasses completely dry because I’ve yet to get a great pour of beer on draft. It’s not at the top of my list but I won’t refuse to go here either.

I went to there to have lunch with my husband. I ordered old bay wings. Wings were super over cooked and dry. I ate 3 of them and asked told server that they are not right. Server replaced not whole portion, but she deducted three wings that I ate. We also were charged extra for the sauce on a side. I found out that sauce is extra only when I noticed that our check more than it should be. Extra charge was not reflected on the check and server never told us that we had to pay for extra ranch on a side. Bad food and mediocre service!

Looney’s can sadly be summed up in one word: apathy. As locals, we have been here several times over the years, and usually left saying«meh.». Having not been back in nearly a year, we gave them another try tonight. They have changed in the interim, but not for the better. First, it took 20 minutes for anyone to come over. We had to ask the hostess to send someone over as our toddler was getting restless for dinner. First, they fouled up our drink orders. Then the crab dip came out. The crabs must have made a run for it, ad they were conspicuously absent from the dip. After ordering entrees, we waited… waited… waited. We noticed that we were not alone as most other patrons were not being served… in spite of only half of the tables being occupied. Finally, we asked the hostess for our food to go. After 1.5 hours there, the only food served was an appetizer, cup of milk for our son, and two beers. As the final coup, we find that they fouled up our entrée order(no fries in my son’s meal, and the wrong side in mine). We stand in awe at the degree of apathy and mediocrity on display at Looney’s at Maple Lawn.

The Honey Old Bay wings are really good… Normally. For some reason they decided to water down the honey. It’s runny like water and does not stick to the wings. I love to eat here but I need them to stop cutting corners. The celery is cut so thin that you can’t bite it.

I’ve been here twice and always for firemen related events. One was a surprise party, the other was a holiday party. We took over some tables in the back part of the restaurant for the holiday party and just kind of flooded the bar for the surprise party. Service was always decent and the food is standard bar food. The neighborhood though recently developed and longing to be like the other Towne Centers(Annapolis, Columbia etc) always seems to have too many cop cars parked in the area. They have live music occasionally which draws freaks and intoxicated individuals to the dance floor which always makes for entertaining people watching. Parking is never an issue as there are usually spaces along the street.

I’ve been coming here for the past 5 years for all the big sporting events. It’s always crowded during game time so expect to come here at least 30– 60 mins prior to tip off. I usually come with a large crowd and seated rather quickly. There’s never a shortage of TVs for your viewing pleasure or food game day specials. I love coming here for there wings definitely try there signature Honey Old Bay wings. They plate it with a generous amount of celery carrots and sauces so theres no need for extra. I came here last night ordered 2 dozen wings and a pitcher of beer for $ 24. The food/drink specials usually run around HH or later on in the evening after 10. I continue to come here because the service is always great, parking is very easy and you’re bound to find some specials for food and drinks. If your in the HOCO or PG border of Fulton and not sure where to go for a game Looneys is the place to be!

Looney’s is going into the dumpster category after our last two trips. Maybe it’s bad luck or the place is really going downhill. Based on the recent Unilocal reviews, I think there may be a problem with service and/or management at this location. On our most recent experience, we arrived just after 7pm and waited about 15 minutes for a table. We ordered some soup and two entrees around 7:30pm(we had to leave by 8:30pm to pick up a family member). Our soup came out prompty… then we waited… and waited. At 8pm we were told our food would be out ‘in a few minutes’ and there were a just a few tickets ahead of us. Then at 8:15 we hit the ‘eject’ button and told them to cancel our order. The waitress said ‘they lost our order’, but my guess is that she entered the appetizer and then forgot to enter the entrees. They didn’t make us pay for the soup, but why on earth would I come back here? Get it together Looney’s!

We went here for a lunch-time reunion with a bunch of former colleagues. I’ve only been here for lunch a few times but they have always been consistent, friendly and clean. We sat in the back room where TVs surround us on every wall. It is an ADHD nightmare(or Heaven) whichever way you look at it! It’s not the place for an intimate gathering(the back). But anyway, I recommend this place, mainly because one of my co-workers is so picky about where he eats and he chose Looneys twice, it has to be good. BTW, the area around it is really nice. The Maple Lawn town center is really upscale. Check it out!

I have visited this Looneys several times since I work across the street. The selection of beers is pretty amazing. The servers are very nice and food is above average. I would really look through the menu thoroughly and you will find some good items.

I really like this place, but the fact that NOONE answers the phone, after FIVE minutes of ringing, is cause for me to take my business to CHAMPPS in Columbia Mall! If you want a business to be successful, staff it well(business 101!), DUH!

I wish they would figure out how to make their food better then«meh» I have yet to find a goto dish. Nothing has ever impressed me(Honey Old Bay wings came close), nothing was ever disappointing. Service, on average, is unimpressive. I’ve been there too many times where all you get is a «hello» and«would you like your check»

I stopped into Looneys for a quick bite. I have no complaints. I had the All Star Chicken Sandwich and it definitely worth having. The menu was extensive and would require a few visits in order to sort through it all but it did look good. Stop in and check them out!

Looney’s to me has always screamed«dudes and football.» The moment you arrive you immediately get harassed by the ID guy to dig around in the huge bag you decided to bring to locate your ID – Which is never an easy task. After that, you instantaneously get a headache from the«dudes» screaming and pounding their beers on the tables. Surprisingly, even though this bar is typically filled to the brim with single guys the bar is quite clean. The bathrooms are never gross, the floor is always clean and the bar tops are not sticky. These are just a few things I pay attention to when spending money at establishments. If you are looking for somewhere to eat bar food in a bar filled with guys on the weekends then this is the bar for you. Also, bar food here is decent. I always get the crab fries or crab pretzel, both are tasty. Note: Make sure you bring ID wristlet or a small clutch. There are too many wondering hands in this bar to say the least and you don’t want your belongings to go missing, especially if you have a tote bag with no clasp or zipper.

We’ve been here about 15 times but until our recent visit it had been a while. Surprisingly it wasn’t that crowded for dinner on a Saturday. It’s a great place to watch sports, although it can be a bit loud. The food here is overall very good. As a native update New Yorker, I’m pretty picky about my wings. Looneys has some of the best wings in the area, they would even pass for above average in update NY. The hot sauces are a bit hotter than average so beware. The chicken cheesesteak and cream crab soup is good too. I’m not crazy about their seasoned fries and wish you could make substitutions. The service is usually good here as well.

Looneys always manages to suck me in for happy hour. Lol I love that its close to my work place, $ 3 rail drinks and half off appetizers. BTW the honey oldbay wings are so yummy. Its not only the sauce, it seems like they deep fry them twice. I don’t like soggy wings and there are def not it. Ive tried the cheese medallions which are pretty much fried cheese… not bad and the Rueben eggrolls… those are yummy. I also manage to almost always get the fish tacos. Even though service can be a little slow, I will surely be back. Oh they also have trivia night on Thursday which is pretty entertaining. I don’t know if you win anything, I didn’t stay until the end. We pretty much quit after the first round.

Huge open space, great outdoor seating and friendly staff. I got the chicken Alfredo, tasted alright, portion was ginormous, too much sauce for my taste but I bet a lot of people like that. The people that I went with all got salads, also huge. We all left with doggy bags and then got froyo across the street.

So-so I came here with a good friend of mine who loves going to bars, clubs and… etc The cover charge was $ 10(ca$h only) the simple burger i ordered took too long the burger was very hard and chewy the bread was not toasted and was cold so I had to send it back which was just waste of the time still was cold. The band was alright I think they were Jamaican or something I couldn’t really understand to say the truth. The menu prices were kinda high for the low quality of the food they serve!!! Well I don’t think if I would come back for another a year or two!

My first time here, and I really have to say that this establishment was really spacious. They have a space for the live bands and a space for the DJ, a great dance floor to let loose. Came up here on 8÷7÷15 to see my favorite band Klepto Radio. They got me for the cover charge of 5 bucks, I’m thinking because of when they have bands there. Didn’t really eat much had some nachos with chicken, they were kind of cold, My daughter had the cheese steak and ended up taking it home saying it made her stomach hurt. Didn’t like the Long Island it didn’t have any liquor in it. It tasted just like juice, negative on that. My waitress was very attentive she came around more then she had to. Overall I had a great time, and will probably return again. Oh yeah I didn’t have to fight anyone or drive around for 10 to 15 minutes looking for a parking space.

Yesterday was my first time here. The option to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful weather is a wonderful thing. I was worried about being the only customers outside because I did not want the waitress to forget abot us but luckily the waitress was very attending to our needs, fast and checked on us accordingly. There are many items on the menu. We ordered the Spinach crab & artichoke salad and the crab dip(yes we love seafood)! The salad was huge! I just wish they provided the right utensils for serving. I feel as if the salad could have been much better there wasn’t much of a taste to it, it seemed very bland. Kind of disappointing… However, the crab dip was amazing! I just wish they put less cheese and more crab. The serving bowl of the crab dip is fairly small but delightful! I had a great experience at Looney’s and will surely be back again… just won’t be ordering any salads from here.

Very spacious and relaxing atmosphere. I was surprised to see how nice this place was compared to the one in College Park. Parking is comfortable and there are other nice restaurants, which I certainly want to come back and try. Came in a party of three and ordered: 1) Cheesesteak 2) Angus Burger 3) Chicken Tacos. The food came in large servings, I couldn’t finish my burger. Their fries remind me of Checkers’ fries! I would recommend this place to someone who was looking for a bar to hang out in the area(I’m not feeling the cover fee from one of the comments below, but I would wanna stop by on the weekend one day too!).

Decent place. Bartenders give you good service. Beers are cheap. Last time we ordered hot crab dip and corned beef sandwich… Sandwich wasn’t very good. And crab dip was okay. Really heavy. We usually just order wings from here. All the flavors we’ve tried have been good. My fave might be the honey old bay. The wings are normal size. Fried really crispy and doused with sauce. Sometimes the celery and carrots look old. Sometimes they don’t. I’ve also had chicken cheesesteak, French dip sandwich, French onion soup, salad and prob a few more things. I don’t like that their portion are so big! And most things come with fries so it’s sooooo fulling! *i have a problem with portion control. Good cheap chill bar. Plenty of TVs to watch various sports* I watch none.

For me, the jury is still out on the overall assessment at Looney’s. I’ve had great food here, and then again I’ve had very bad food here. My most recent experience was actually pretty good. We ordered some appetizers for the table, chili nachos and Old Bay wings. The nachos were decent without being too soggy on the bottom layers. That can be a real pitfall in a platter of nachos! I was surprised how well they held up, though. The toppings were good, nothing spectacular, but decent. The wings were good, but most people I think would call them overcooked. I liked them that way(nothing worse to me than a slimy/undercooked wing!), and they went away very quickly around the table, so I couldn’t have been the only one. The skin was crispy, the meat was still tender, and there wasn’t a lot of gristle and such left. To me, this is ideal, and I enjoyed them, but again, as I said, some of the smaller wings were a tad dried out. Hot, but dry. The drinks are decent, and they have some okay specials. Again, nothing to write home about. And the décor and noise levels leave a lot to be desired. If you enjoy having to scream to talk to the people at your table, then you’re in a great place for it. I really think it’s too loud in there to have a casual conversation. This place is really more for raucous events and happy hours. Good food most nights, great libations, but still missing that special charm that makes the local hole-in-the-wall so unique and enjoyable. Definitely a sports bar at its core.

Service: I highly recommend sitting at the bar, all my experiences with table service have been questionable except for the one time my server was also the bartender. There’s never been anything majorly wrong with the table service, it just hasn’t been particularly attentive or friendly. Food: I’m gonna preface this food review with the obvious, this is pub food it is nothing to write home about. However, the hot wings are spicy, crisp, and the ranch dressing is delicious, you also can’t beat the Monday night special. I really enjoy the crab dip, it is cheesier than most but it pairs nicely with the bread and vegetables(Also about $ 5.99 on happy hour). The garden salad with an add on of grilled salmon, the salmon was cooked perfectly. Although, the greens were somewhat browning and the dressing the salad came with originally was just gross, I asked for Caesar instead. My least favorite menu item is the cheese steak, it was so greasy and the bread tasted stale, also the peppers and onions had been so long that they were limp and far from caramelized. My friends love their loaded fries and quesadillas. Drinks: Best part about coming here. Happy Hour drinks are ridiculous rail vodka/gin mixed drinks are literally $ 2.25. They always have some sort of excellent special for every day of the week. I’ve never had a bad drink here and the bartenders are very knowledge about shots. Atmosphere: Good place to watch a game, had a blast here on Thanksgiving Eve too! However the constant presence of bouncers is a little weird, I guess it makes it easier on the servers not to card? But Tuesday at 5, Sunday at 6… strange. I’m always shocked in a good way when I get my bill. Two drinks and an entrée sized salad with a good 6 – 7 oz portion of salmon was about $ 17 before tip on my most recent visit. The value and the bartenders bumps this up to a 4-star place, however the food is probably edging on a 2 – 3 depending on what you get.
