The Pavilion At Sunny Hills

I can’t say enough great things about this facility. My mother recently had a knee replacement at St Jude Hospital, and was admitted to The Pavilion soon after.
I’ve heard horror stories about nursing facilities and was pretty nervous about leaving someone I loved in the hands of strangers, but this staff did an exceptional job. From the CNAs to the administrators, they made us fee like family and eased all of ur concerns. Every time I had a question about my mom’s health, the therapists had answer. Every concern I had about the insurance process, the admissions staff had a solution.
My mother is still healing, but her progress has been fantastic, thanks to the professionals at this facility.

Tyler Smith, Skye Delgado and Eve Ankenman, are all extremely professional and very helpful in choosing a facility for our loved one. This place is exceeds the standard for a skilled nursing facility with exceptional care and professionalism. Clean, valet parking, wide choice of meals and physical therapy meets all demands. Highly recommend The Pavillion at Sunny Hills.

I have my grandma staying at this facility. The CNA is great, really takes care of my grandma and makes sure she is always comfortable and well fed. The rehab works with my grandma in both the PT and OT aspects. I’ve seen her walking around the facility with the help of a PT and working on fine motor skills with an OT. I hope to see my grandmothers health continue to improve during her stay at this facility.

Although there are reviews here of upset people I don’t feel its fair those of us that have had family here for several years. My great aunt has been a resident in the facility’s long term floor for four years. The ownership has shifted and the new group has truly sought the well being of Aunt Delia. That I was given the proper care in the recovery period after a right knee replacement at the pavilion at sunny hills in Fullerton. The physical therapists were genuinely concerned, patient and knowledgeable in my healing.
The staff from CNA’s, to the administrative department are stellar. Not to mention the big boss who helps out handing meals on trays for the purpose of training is very humbling.
Keep up the good work giving back to the community specially the seniors whose loved ones could not be by their sides 24 hours. To God be the glory!

If ever dis-​function junction existed in a *Skilled Nursing Facility*, this tops the fallen sponge cake. Skilled Nursing Facility is a joke. The only thing they are skilled at is ripping off the consumer.
This place is nothing more that a *Pay For Profit* facility that doesn’t care one iota for their patients. My parent came to their facility in decent shape-​with-​in 2 weeks my parent had become a near vegetable and a shadow of their former self-​They could no longer eat and they would not feed my parent, they couldn’t even find the time to help the patient sip the Ensure. Their bed was a dirty mess, they did not provide daily baths or shaves, They were too busy playing on the Facebook. Guess who runs this place? Shlomo, The same guy who went out and generously bought $ 16,000 dollars worth of Powerball tickets for his supposed employees in California. Too bad he didn’t take that money and invest it into better staff for quality of life-​or maybe that too is out the window?
Seems to be that when a person reaches a certain age, they are in fact Expendable. Nobody wants to take the time to care for them because the money is supposedly not there anymore. You can blame that on all these insurance companies/​these middlemen who take the premium, but leave the customer with nothing and the end result is payment only through Medicare-​Bargain basement health care at it’s worst.
I have a valid complaint against this company and against their employees. Their staff is under qualified to do simple tasks for their patients. My parent only got better once they were placed into the hospital, detoxed (Imagine! To be Detoxed of harmful drugs at 81 years old! My parent was incoherent and had dementia like issues because they over drugged him-that’s it, keep them drugged and quiet). My parent is still in the hospital, but eating quality foods and speaking again… They will NEVER go to this dump ever again.
This Pavilion should be re-​named Pavilion of the Dammed because it is what they do, take your life away-​Stay away from this place — my opinion only.

Was this the center that was formerly called Fullerton Post Acute Care? I DO hope that the care has improved. My mother went from St. Jude Hospital into this care facility and was put in a room that looked like a hotel room. But after a couple of weeks was moved to a dismal room and we didn’t move her because, of course, you don’t want to cause a 90 year old any more distress.
My mother was there for a year and then passed away. Someone on the staff stole her crystal rosary so I requested that they reimburse us $ 35 for the rosary (which she would have been buried with!) I had to make a dozen calls to get them to send a check for $ 35!
I do hope that things have improved in the last couple of years.

Where to start… because this is all about «For Profit»…
1. Try answering the phone in a timely manner.
2. How about providing services for patients when the family pre-​pays.
3. Trash in rooms with no trash can near bed.
4. Try working with the Doctor (s) when patients do not feel good or do not eat in an effort to increase appetite or ensure nutritional value is a priority versus allowing patients to «whittle» away.
5. No sheets on bed or pillow case for patients… found patient on bed with no covers.

The Pavilion is a new star for elder care in Fullerton.
The people care, the upgrade and new management are superior in knowledge and commitment to their staff and patients Things from history are being restored and the new changes should be acknowledged. There is NO smell upon entering. There is a complete remodel. The unfair pictures showing the mens bathroom were taken during CONSTRUCTION for upgrades. That is new carpet, new paint and new remodeling. It addition the rooms have storage for two patients. The complainer did not mention that the other bed was empty and used for storage during IMPROVEMENTS. The complainer does not mention that they were not paying a bill. It is covered by insurance. The parking is tight and there is a free valet service to help. I doubt the complainer saw trash or a resident smoking while using oxygen. I do not work at the rehabilitation center. I just know of the commitment of the entire management and staff and able to comment on what I see.

This place is pretty dismal. It seems like they are trying to spruce it up but it’s still very bad.
The elevator numbers don’t light up so you don’t know when the button is pressed or what floor you are headed too. The buttons are too high for patients so they try to use sticks to press the buttons. (It’s sad to see 90 year olds trying to hit a small button with a 2 ft stick.
The rooms appear dirty and most don’t even have TVs.
The smell of feces is very noticeable in the halls.
The outside areas seemed to have a lot of trash and smoking people with oxygen tanks doesn’t seem safe.
They had marked spaces specifically for ambulances but there were regular cars parked in them.
I would have to agree with my grandmothers desire to leave this place. Hopefully we can get her somewhere better soon.

I had pneumonia and needed PT. As long as you are on the second floor (newly remodelled and done in a «Hooray for Hollywood» theme) it’s ok. It did take a while to make them understand what a vegetarian meal was, but they got around to it. However, if I was paying the bill I’d be out in a heartbeat. The third floor is for long term residents, which is a sad place. Don’t go up there. The CNAs all seem like they just graduated Bryman and they seem to party at night.
