Taste It!

I am really mad at the owner.
I was there couple weeks ago and asked whether there’s going to be any sale anytime soon because I remembered getting several text messages throughout the year. He said «no» perhaps not until Christmas. I am a working mom and find it challenging to come to this store during their hours so since the owner said no sale till christmas, I purchased several products (more than I had planned that day).
This weekend I just received a text message «spring sale 25% off» — I feel very betrayed. I would have still bought couple vinegars and spent at least $ 50 even if I knew that there was this sale coming but instead I bought way more because the owner lied. He could have at least told me there is a Unilocal check-​in deal but no…
Why did he lie about it? Because he wanted to sell more at higher prices and make more money. But guess what you just lost your loyal customer. I have been a loyal customer for a while and also told my friends and families to go to your store and said many nice things about you. And you lie to me? Just to make more money? I am very disappointed…

So, I stumbled upon this establishment with GG. We both loved what the store has to offer. A wide range of selection of balsamic vinegar and Olive Oil and a small wine tasting room. We didn’t explore the wine section of the store due to time constraint but, we are so glad to have walked in for the balsamic vinegar and olive oil.
We tried a variety of what they have to offer with small pieces of bread in the glass jar neatly placed in every single aluminium container of the vinegar and oil. We were in heaven with a lot of the samples and decided to walk out of there with 4 bottles of their stuff. We have served it for family and they loved it too. We will definitely be back for more!

I really love going to this store and tasting the different balsamics and OO. I highly recommend this store. I have been going since they opened and have never been disappointed! I often swing in and pick up my favorites for gifts — and every time I have given it, the person returns for more. It can’t be beat in terms of selection. Swing into Stater Bros right next door to pick up a fresh baquette for your yummy Olive oil and balsamic purchase.

Fantastic choices and tastings of olive oil. Haven’t seen anything so extensive since Florence Italy.

This place is the best don’t be fooled by the other olive oil places it is not the same. I learned the hard way. I love the strawberry vinaigrette! You can’t go wrong drizzling this on any vegetable before roasting. Great way to spice up your recipes! It is also very fun to taste them all and bring a friend they are very nice and never seem irritated by us Trying them all.

Wow! What a fantastic experience! I came to buy a birthday gift and had my 3 young kids in tow. I was nervous about having the kids around sample cups, bread, glass bottles, etc… I could foresee a major catastrophe resulting in me paying for the whole store. But my fears were quickly calmed by the owner who immediately greeted us, said they were kid friendly and helped my kids with samples. He took the time to share about the oils and balsamic vinegars. They also have a boutique wine area with wine tastings that looked like it would have been my stop if my kids had destroyed the store. Definitely need to stop by there some time for some wine tastings. Oh. And the oils were awesome. Picked up a blood orange oil and a Italian herb oil as well as a 25 star balsamic that is great. We will definitely be back… often!

Over the course of the years, I’ve been to many oil/​vinegar establishments and by far, none have surpassed the experience, expertise, selection, and above all else, passion of Taste It!
I am looking forward to my next visit, which I can guarantee will be soon!

The Vinegar’s taste awesome, and the plain is actually my favorite. The staff really knows their stuff and they are really helpful.

Before the age of mega-​marts, we purchased the best ingredients from our local butcher, baker, or other specialized craftsmen. A wise shopper knew where to find the best. In those days, «Taste It!» would have been popular among the wisest shoppers. And today I think it should be no different.
Small stainless steel barrels line the walls of Taste It!, like shining sentries guarding a uniquely precious content, silently boasting of enthusiastic conquest over the commonplace. Each a monument to some exotic taste or region of The Old Word, only partially revealed by a label, and exposed in a torrent on the tonuge when sampled in the little plastic sample cups that accompany each station.
Here, good fortune, like good olive oil, is not something one just stumbles upon. I informed the proprietor of the purpose for my visit – olive oil to pour atop my homemade pasta, and he thoughtfully revealed my logical choices: Italian herb or garlic infused for the flavored, and a range of 3 straight olive. I purchased 2 from the flavored group, Italian Herb and garlic mushroom, and Spanish from the straight. All were stars, but the Italian herb was unanimously on the demand list to BUY THIS AGAIN… IN QUANTITY.
Finding the best of anything is easier because we can learn from the experience of other Unilocalers. Sure, a little discernment goes a long way. But at Taste It!, discernment is required only to choose between amazing and awesome for your particular culinary application.

Really fun and unique little shop. We walked by one day while in the area not knowing what to expect. The owner, Tim, just happened to be outside and drew us in. He is truly passionate about his wide array of products. We spent quite a while sampling several of the oils and talking with Tim. We even took home a few bottles to try!

Wonderful spot to find all kinds of balsamic vinegars and olive oils! I bought a raspberry and an orange/​bergamot balsamic, and they are sooo good. A lot of the other balsamics are a little on the sweet side for me though. I bought some bleu cheese stuffed olives that weren’t the best I’ve had before; I wouldn’t buy them again. It would be nice if there was a system to use fewer plastic cups… maybe they could get those little palettes with the divots around so people could compare vinegars and oils side by side, and then they could wash and reuse them… will use less plastic and save money in the long run! :)

My all time favorite is officially the Cinnamon Balsamic. I am close to finishing my 5^th 375ml bottle of it, and am so so bummed that Taste It isn’t going to be carrying it anymore !!! Next up I would have to say is the Frantoio and Tuscan Herbal olive oils… As well as the peach white balsamic. I love coming and trying all their new flavors and making new flavor combos. :)

So my only complaint about Taste It is that they are in Brea… they really need to open a shop in central county. *hint hint*
Luckily for me, I have a friend who lives in the area and they are also in the same shopping center as the wonderful Early Bird so I get stop by every now and then.
I usually buy my olive oils at a closer place but I have to say that I think Taste It’s oils are of a better quailty and I love their selection. I find things here that I don’t see at other olive oil shops. I also love the great service I always get here… always super helpful but not pushy.
AND if they were ever to bring the butter olive oil back I might actually make the drive even more often. ;)

We stumbled upon this place while waiting for a table at the Early Bird Café (1 ½ hour wait).
This place is awesome! I love the whole concept of sampling the variety of balsamic vinaigrette’s and olive oils with small pieces of bread! There is also a small wine tasting room towards the back which just made our unplanned visit soo much more enjoyable!
The owner was exceptionally helpful and knowledgable! We ended up purchasing 2 bottles of wine (one red and white), a bottle of their aged balsamic vinaigrette, and a bottle of garlic olive oil.
I’d definitely go back!

What a fabulous store for those who enjoy olive oils and balsamic vinegars!
As soon as we stepped in, we were greeted by a happy, friendly Tim. Letting him know it was our first time, he immediately led us to the basic balsamic vinegar (if you want to call rich, sweet with a touch of sour and smooth taste, basic!). After tasting that pure goodness, directed us to best sellers but also suggested other options.
It was an incredible experience speaking with Tim. He’s knowledgeable and so passionate about the products! I just enjoy and fall in quickly to that kind of joy!
This is a must visit to all my Unilocal friends. Perhaps you may not be a big fan of EVOO and B-​vinegars, but it’s a wonderful experience and they have pre-​packaged and paired hostess gift which will go well with anyone!

My friend and her husband have been raving about this place for a long time. In fact, they got a gift basket for me and my husband as a wedding gift last year. We loved it! I’ve also bought a deal ($ 20 for $ 10) but never made it here before it expired. I came today to check out the place and use the coupon.
The shop is not very big. As soon as we walked in, a lady greeted us and asked if we’ve been there. We said no. She explained everything to us and said to try as much as we like. There are small tasting cups at every station and small pieces of bread in the containers for you to dip the oil. They also have a small wine tasting room with 4 wines that you can buy a card to use. Service is really friendly and the store is very clean.
There were several flavors at 50% discount but we ended up buying a bottle of Green Apple in While Balsamic. I love the tartness! Don’t forget to bring the empty bottle back for a refill at 10% off.

Surprised my sis with a visit to this store for her present and I got her the 3 pack gift box which was perfect. We are «foodies» so we tasted almost every single balsamic and olive oil in the store and they all were very unique and tasted really good. They give you bread to taste them all and afterwards we were so full from trying them all!
Our favorite Balsamics: Fig (great for anything), the aged 25 original (great for anything), Cranberry/​Walnut (great for salads), and Pecan/​Praline (great for fruit, ice cream, or desserts). The white original is also good for a lighter taste.
Our favorite Olive Oils: Rosemary, Basil, and Scallion
I will definitely be coming back when I finish my 3 pack (bought a gift pack for myself since it was so good!) Prices are reasonable too! I also used the Unilocal deal and got a great price! All of the employees were very nice and gave suggestions and ideas and were very welcoming to keep tasting and trying them all out.

The first thing they said was, «we encourage you to try everything here», so we walked around, taking our sweet time trying different ones, and the good thing is that the staff don’t stand on top off you while you are walking around checking out different stuff, but they are there if you have any question.
Balsamic vinegar — largest bottle (375ml) is $ 20, medium (200ml) is $ 14, and the smallest, much smaller than the other two is $ 10. Among the balsamic vinegar, my favorite is 25 year white balsamic vinegar. It’s not too strong like the dark one and it was very good, definitely going back there to buy some more of it. I really like the lemon white one and fig was also good. Didn’t really care for peach, blackberry, orange/mandarin/…one cause I think they are too sweet, but passion fruit was pleasantly good.
Among the olive oil, I think garlic one is really good. Other rosemary, etc infused ones taste like the herbs.
Among the dipping sauces, artichoke asiago and darker olive tapenade were very good.
I will definitely go back there to buy more.
