When I walked into the salon, my hair was two colors plus new roots. Sara evened it all out perfectly with a deep red shade in just one process! The trim was an afterthought for me, but she blended my old layers so perfectly that I just had to mention how good the cut was as well. If you need a wizard to fix up your ‘do, call Sara!

I did a little oopsie on my hair trying to tone it myself, and I ended up with 3 layers of different colors. It was a major bummer and I was starting a new job so I needed a fix QUICK. Sara was able to give me a seamless cool blonde over those nightmare layers and you couldn’t even tell I had goofed! My hair was healthy, strong, and the color was perfectly blended.
The studio is cute and clean and small, which means you get a lot of one-​on-​one time with your stylist. Sara was so great about communicating the entire time and I didn’t get any of those judgey vibes that you get other places. I am so glad I found this salon, I won’t go anywhere else! Thanks Sara!

I’m writing this to let you all know how amazing Julie is. She has been my go to hair pro for the past 2 years and I am always elated with how my hair turns out. Julie and Sara are amazing at what they do and they just keep getting better!!! Julie is professional and fun, and even though I go to Julie for my hair I always have fun chatting with Sara as well. I am obsessed with the work they do on their clients — all the creative designs and colors they come up with. They always have the best products to keep my hair soft and healthy as well. The studio is so cute too!

I was in dire need of a hair makeover and was so lucky to discover Stay Gold Salon. Sara did such an amazing job taking out all the yellow orangey colors in my hair and turned it to a very cool black to grey violetish ombré. To think that I was even walking around with my «before» hair O. O Sara is super cool and easy to talk to. She’s also a cat person, which is a super plus! I really really recommend going to her for any of your hair essentials xD

Sara uses that super mint conditioner that makes your head tingle — and its awesome. I have super thick asian hair and she made it feel manageable and light.
Definitely planning on going again!

Wow! I am so glad I found a salon that does wonders to my hair. Sara is awesome with colors and awesome with correction of color. When I first had my appointment with her, she had to remove layers and layers of boxed dye! On my second visit, she nailed the red I was looking for. Can’t wait for my next visit.

Sara and Julie are the BEST! Can’t say enough good things about them. Sara has been doing my hair for over a year now and I would never go to anyone else. She listens to what I want and makes sure I’m happy with the results. She’s AMAZING! The salon is super laid back and chill, I love getting my hair done here!

One of the hardest things a girl in a new town has to deal with is finding a great hair stylist. Well, look no more! Sara is an amazing stylist/​colorist! I found her almost a year ago, and have been going to her ever since. I have an a-​line bob, so I need regular trimming. She does an amazing job, keeping it short in the back and tapering out nicely in the front.
Her coloring skills are amazing too! I have to keep my color business safe. But she finds amazing ways to add color! I started with partial honey highlights. Last visit, she recommended some warm red tones, and it looks fabulous! I got compliments all day from co– workers and friends.
If you’re looking for a great stylist, you’ve got to give this place try. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!

I consider myself lucky to have found Sara. I have gone to her for everything over the last year. (an ombré, dark brown hair to blonde, back to dark then added purple) she can do anything from natural to extreme cuts and colors… sometimes I have an exact idea of what I want and others I’ll show up with 10 different pictures and sara is more then happy to help me narrow it down. Im always excited to see what Sara will do to my hair next.

I have been coming to Julie for more than a few years now and everytime my hair comes out awesome! Before I went to her my curly hair was damaged and stringy due to all the times I have bleached and dyed my hair. Now thanks to her it’s soft and nowhere near damaged. I change my hair color often and whenever I go in looking for certain colors she is spot on. She’s attentive, friendly and a goddess at the shampoo bowl, she massages the shampoo out like no other! I’ve brought my mom a couple times and she would fall alseep cause Julie is that good! Anyways, go check her out!

Finding an amazing hair stylist is pretty much the hardest thing for a girl — almost as hard as (or harder than) finding a great boyfriend. Lucky for me, I found Julie. I’ve been going to Julie for a little more than 2 years now and she’s the best at what she does! Thank God for social media because that’s how I found her while at her old salon. She’s cut, dyed, and styled my hair on many occasions.
Julie definitely goes out of her way to work with what I want and what she can actually do for me. Sometimes I’ll want something that just isn’t worth my money and she’ll give her honest opinion and other options for me to choose from. I definitely value her suggestions. She even takes the time to answer my questions on her days off!
Her friendly demeanor and skills are what keeps me going back to her. Definitely check out her work on IG (@spectraltones). I may not have found a boyfriend, but I definitely found a hair stylist that I can’t let go of.

Ever go see a stylist, show them a picture, they nod their head, and you get a totally different cut, color, and style? Yeah me too… UNTIL…I met Sara. She is my hair savior!!! I go in with pictures, we discuss my ideas, and she gives me feedback to make sure I know what I’m going to get. And I ALWAYS leave happy!
Today I went shorter than I’ve gone since I was five, when my mom decided it was easier to give me a bowl cut than deal with my hair (the trauma is real, yo!). Sara and I discussed the length and since she knew I was a bit nervous, she cut a length I was comfortable with, dried my hair so I could see what it looked like, and then I agreed more off was necessary. That’s what I love — it’s a partnership! I left feeling fabulous, with a short bob, a la Ashlee Simpson but brunette, ready for summer and not at all feeling like I had a mom haircut.
You name it, Sara is great at it. Styling short hair or long hair. Coloring hair. Straightening hair with a keratin treatment. I have first-​hand experience for each one.

I have been seeing Sara Katz for almost two years now and I can confidently say that she is the best hairstylist I have ever encountered. I have always had very thick, frizzy, unruly hair that no one in the beauty business seemed to know how to deal with. I’ve burned through probably a dozen stylists who all left my hair looking and feeling like death, until I met Sara! She has given me multiple stunning hair colors, cuts and even extensions. Apparently there is nothing she can’t do! My hair was a damaged over processed mess when I met Sara and now I get compliments every single day about how beautiful my hair is. I could not be more excited for the opening of Stay Gold Salon, if there is anyone who has earned it it’s Sara and Julie. They are both incredibly talented, friendly, and all around awesome girls who really care about their customers.

When I first came in to see Sara, I knew I wanted a new look. I had long, straight hair and wanted to cut it short, but I was nervous. Sara was talked me through the decision, never pressuring me or making me feel rushed. She recommended an in-​between cut that would be easier to grow out if I changed my mind. I decided to do that.
A few weeks later I knew I was ready to go the distance, and went back — but Sara wasn’t available, so Julie helped me out and gave me the cutest pixie cut ever. Sara continued to help me maintain the short cut for a little over a year until I decided it was time to grow it back out. She was there every step of the way to give me little trims and adjustments to make sure it was growing out evenly and looked as normal as humanly possible.
I trust her judgment completely, and I love that she is always honest and will do what is best for my hair. I continue to visit Sara for highlights, and she is most definitely a color master! From the craziest of colors to the most natural-​looking highlights, I have seen her do it all!
I moved to Fresno recently, but still make frequent trips to see Sara (and Julie!) because I can’t imagine having anyone else. Totally worth the 4 hour drive for the peace of mind!

Julie has been doing my hair for almost a year now and I couldn’t be happier! I couldn’t imagine going to anybody else! She always does an amazing job on my hair and she is always so patient since I have changed it up last minute at times. She is a color expert and very honest. I have natural dark hair so if I’m ever thinking about doing a color she warns me that it might not come out exactly how I want since my hair is dark and in those cases she gives me color suggestions. My hair always comes out better than I expected. She’s totally rad and fun to talk to and always tells me what products she uses! If you’re thinking about changing hair stylists definitely go to Julie!

I have gotten my hair done by both Julie and Sara these girls are amazing. Julie did an amazing job by working her magic on my previous horrible mullet cut I had going on. Sara did a beautyful color on my very washed out hair she had no problem staying a bit later to make my hair perfect. When I first met Sara, I had no idea how to properly take care of my hair. I would wash it every day with drugstore products, followed up by an intensive straightening process without any heat protectant. In fact, it had been almost three years since I had even CUT my hair! Yikes! «Hot mess» doesn’t even begin to cover it.
During my first appointment with Sara, she was nothing short of kind, accommodating, and sweet. I will be the first to admit that I am pretty shy when I get in the salon chair — but she made me feel totally comfortable! The initial consultation was great. She made sure to have all my hair goals in mind before even touching my hair, which was incredible. Back then, I was terrified of cutting off much length at all, and she was considerate of that. Even though I definitely should have chopped off about four inches at that time, she listened to my wishes and gave me a small trim instead. We then had a short talk about hair care, and I looked absolutely flawless as soon as I walked out the door! (Tip: Ask her for her signature flat iron curls — they last FOR-FREAKIN’-EVER!) I followed her hair instructions to a tee and was amazed to find that my hair would stay salon-​perfect every day!
Obviously, I returned to Sara many times. Almost every single time, I would want something different. And every single time, she delivered! Sometimes the change I desired would be so dramatic that I would have to wait a few sessions to reach my desired color. That meant I would sometimes have to settle for a color that wasn’t exactly what I wanted — but even then I was super stoked and happy with how my hair turned out! Even if it meant staying past the salon’s closing time, she made sure that I was completely satisfied at each visit. She’s definitely a hair perfectionist in the very best way! (There’s a reason that our relationship has lasted much longer than most of my boyfriends. ;P)
Of course, sometimes Sara would be fully booked when I was in need of a trim or color refresh. That’s where, if I was lucky enough to catch an appointment with her, Julie would come in! She’s also amazingly patient, hilarious, and talented. Between the two of these amazing stylists, I never have to worry about my hair looking it’s best. Of course, being excellent stylists, both of these ladies do tend to book up fast. I would definitely recommend prebooking an appointment in advance.
