We specialize in offering incredible flight experiences in 5 types of exotic aerobatic aircraft. Take an introductory flight lesson in our new Citabria trainer! Try any of our hand’s on Thrill Rides where you will take the stick of a high performance stunt plane and perform aerobatics on your first flight with us! Nostalgic biplane sightseeing tours around Los Angeles & Orange County for 2 passengers are also our specialty. Charter our biplane to Catalina Island, Lake Havasu or Big Bear. No prior flying experience is required. If you are already a pilot, we specialize in teaching aerobatics and tail wheel flying in our Citabria, Pitts S-​2C and Extra 300L. if you have ever wanted to learn the art of flying any of our special aircraft, let us know. Some flights are video taped and make a great memory of your flight with us.

History

Established in 1999.

SkyThrills began as the brainchild of Michael J. Blackstone. His goals has always been to share his passion for flying with everyone who would go for a ride with him. His enthusiasm for flying and his love for aerobatics is highly contagious. The business began with an idea to blend the thrill of roller coasters with the extreme sport of advanced competition aerobatics. SkyThrills was born from this «SkyCoaster» concept. Give people an opportunity to create their own roller coaster in the sky and you have SkyThrills. This is Disneyland and Magic Mountain on steroids. But the differences are incredible. The ride is much smoother, way faster, up to 250 mph, more intense, up to +8/​-​8 Gs, and lasts 100 times longer. Plus an added bonus… No Lines, No Limits and No Tracks!

Michael Blackstone, began flying at age 8 in a Pitts Special stunt biplane with his Dad. He learned to fly and soloed at 16 in a Marchetti SF-​260 in Chino, California. He flew for Air Combat USA for 10 years full time, flying over 3,000 hours while meeting and flying dozens of celebrities including Joe Montana. He got hired as an airline pilot at age 25 and he started SkyThrills! His goal was to explore the outer limits of thrill rides in stunt planes for clients with no experience. He wanted to inspire people to learn to fly just as he was inspired to fly by his father. Each client is given the same opportunity to experience flying in the most exciting ways possible. Each client gets to fly, hand’s on, loops, rolls, hammerheads, spins and flying upside down over the Pacific Ocean while looking for whales and dolphin pods out the top of the canopy, just the way he did when he was a kid. He got hooked on flying as a child and has made a life of sharing his love for aerobatics with you.
