Rose Pointe Apartments

My wife and I have been living here for 15 months and love it so far. We wouldn’t live anywhere else. Management and staff are extremely friendly. The few times that we needed maintenance, they came as soon as possible. The location is great (near by a lot of shopping, movie theater, back entrance leads to freeway and gas station). We never hear noise from the freeway, although weirdly we hear a train around 3am but it won’t wake you up. We never had an issue with sound from other neighbors (nor have we had anyone complain to us about sound). It’s a gated community unfortunately that doesn’t stop people from entering and leaving (I’ve seen 1 – 2 homeless men cross through the complex, I assume they use it as a shortcut to get to target and/​or to go through trash for recyclables). Despite that, it’s not a big deal. Never had a problem or felt that it wasn’t safe for my wife.
The apartment complex has a no Pet Policy (dogs/​cats) but they allow companion (and service) animals. I have no idea whether that’s enforced or not. The main issue is that they do not want you to have a pet that would frequent the carpet and possibly pee or poop on the carpet (because then they have to replace the whole carpet).
For extra security, if I were you I would get window locks if you like to sleep with the windows cracked (current window locks in place if you close it). Not that I’m concerned about someone opening my window but I always like to be extra secure. This apartment complex has everything that you could ask for. It’s a bit pricey but so are the other apartments located nearby.
The apartment complex has a lot of bonuses (free 200+ channel Cable), a small 24 hours gym, a swimming pool, BBQ grills, tennis court, volley ball court, and a few events each year. They also have laundry rooms on every corner of the apartment complex with a coinless system. Also the office will accept and hold packages for you (kind’ve a big deal, especially if you work).
My only real complaint (and in no way a deal breaker) is that I wish that they would allow cats. Cats are not really destructive pets. They may ruin your couch with their claws if you don’t have a scratch post, but they don’t ruin carpets and always user their litter box (unless it’s a sick kitten).

So my wife and I have lived here for about three months now, and so far so good. Now, if you’re coming here with the expectation of a well-​oiled machine at the front office, maybe you should look elsewhere. I get more of a «a little bigger than a mom-and-pop’s shop» kind of management. I“ll go into more detail later.
But the front office workers are definitely friendly and try to be helpful. And other than a few minor incidences below, we’ve really enjoyed our time living here. It’s a quiet, friendly neighborhood. We’ve never had too many issues with noise — usually once it’s past 7−8pm, it’s pretty quiet. We have wonder neighbors below which also has helps being here.
Compared to other areas (especially towards Buena Park or Brea), I think the price is a little steeper, but being new to the area and not knowing any better, it’s not too bad.
A few complaints but not deal breakers:
1. A few times where, despite the fact our tracking information has said the package has been delivered, the office attendant would say that they don’t know where it is. Eventually they do find the package, so just a minor inconvenience.
2. There have been a few times we’ve put in a work order, and either it has been lost or never officially put in, so we’ve had to follow up couple of times before the work was done.
3. Parking is better than other places, from what I hear. Even with a one-​bedroom apartment, we get 1 covered parking and 1 uncovered, inside the gate parking (unassigned). But especially on the weekends, I see a lot of cars without parking decals taking up all the spots inside the gate so that residents are forced to park outside, which is tricky because you are competing with like 3 other apartment complexes nearby. I wish there was better monitoring of this.
Despite these things, I really enjoy staying here. I’ll update if something serious occurs, but I feel safe and comfortable here.

If they had been closer to work and a little bit cheaper, I would have stayed. Great place, very caring and efficient management. The place I moved after was such a nightmare, but now I am in good location again. But I definitely recommend Rose Point.

We loved it here. The complex is gated and we always felt extremely safe. There was never a concern. The access to the freeway was one of our favorite things about living here. The staff was easy to deal with, very kind and professional. We loved it here! We had the Jr one bed room and had too much space!

I lived in Rose Pointe from Sep 2011 to Sep 2013 in a 2bd/​1ba unit on the first floor. Management staff were always very nice and easy to talk to, as were the maintenance staff. Cable is included in the rent (Time Warner) which was a nice savings. This community is gated and has entrances on both Highland Ave and behind the complex on Houston Ave, which made accessing the 91 super convenient. They don’t allow pets but service animals and emotional support animals are allowed. I never had any issues with dogs (either barking or leaving poop everywhere) and only ever saw 1 lady regularly walking around and carrying her small chihuahua with her.
The apartment included 1 parking space which was covered, and I was given 2 remotes for the entrance gates. The parking area was almost always full when you’d expect it to be so I imagine parking with 2 cars would be difficult. There is street parking but the spots get taken up and some folks end up parking in the corner of the Target parking lot, with no issues from what I know.
The community was nice though the gates were frequently broken while I was there so anyone could walk in. As pointed out in other reviews, the surrounding apartment complexes are a bit sketchy but nothing bad ever happened while I lived there. It was a very quiet area for the most part.
The master bedroom in my unit had a small walk-​in closet and a sink/​vanity area with access to the bathroom, which also had a door from the hallway. The second bedroom (Floorplan C) was pretty small. I could fit a full size bed and desk in there but it was really cramped. Also you may want to note that navigating furniture into the second bedroom is very tricky due to the positioning of the doorway and the hallway. We had professional movers and they tried several times to figure out how to get a TWIN sized bedframe into that bedroom and could not do it. We ended up donating the bedframe since there was no way it would work in this apartment (it could not be taken apart). So, there’s that to keep in mind if you have any larger pieces of furniture you are planning to put into the second bedroom. The desk I had was a tabletop so I was able to easily disassemble the legs and get it in.
The laundry room machines only operate with a laundry card but I was given one when I moved in for free, if you lose it the replacement cards are $ 5 I think. There are 4 washers and 4 dryers in the main laundry room by the office. They’re pretty basic machines and get the job done. The gym was a decent size compared to other apartment complexes that only have 2 treadmills and a weight machine. They also have TVs in each of the gym rooms. You can access the gym 24 hours with your key as I recall.
Note that you do need to bring your own refrigerator! There is a Lowe’s store a couple blocks away so that wasn’t a hassle at all when we moved in.
I loved living here and only moved because I was relocating to San Diego, otherwise I definitely would have stayed. If I ever move back to the area, I will be coming back to this complex.

My boyfriend and I lived here for 3 years and we really liked it until the rent increases became too much for the area (though I’m sure it was somewhat comparable to surrounding apartment complexes). Rose Pointe has always been higher in price than the complexes across the street from it, but it’s also equivalently nicer. While the apartment complex itself is beautiful and everyone in it is friendly, we grew weary of the surrounding area. While all the apartment complexes on Highland are technically Fullerton, everything around them is considered Anaheim and it shows… but this is also part of the reason that they have some of the most affordable rent in northern OC (even cheaper than what I was finding in Anaheim). I loved being close to the freeway, close to Downtown Fullerton, awesome food and any shopping I needed, but for the price they were asking to keep our lease I would have rather paid slightly more for a significantly nicer area (we’re in Irvine now). So basically if you live here just expect a rent increase of $ 50-​$ 100 every year… but this is typical of any large leasing company. The reasons we left had nothing to do with the complex itself, just the surrounding area (though the price did play a role).
No pets allowed but you will see tons of «illegal» window cats, cats walking around, and birds squawking so don’t stress too much about that rule ;). Another thing to be aware of is that the ventilation in the bathrooms is not that great since its in the middle of the unit with no window, so it can get moldy in there if you don’t clean the walls/​ceiling.
The grounds are very pretty and gardeners come weekly (which will also wake you up). We did see 2 trees fall in front of our house that subsequently had to be removed, and also a tree in the parking lot fell on my boyfriends car after a really windy night… so beware of the uncovered spaces! The car was totalled and we were forced to buy a new one. luckily his insurance paid him for his old car minus the deductible.
I know everything sounds negative so far but that is really all that sticks out as negatives. The staff is super friendly and helpful. it was always fun to chat with them a little whenever I was in the office. It is like a family atmosphere. Also lets talk about the free cookies and coffee. That is probably the best way to bribe me and it might have influenced us slightly in our decision to live there (as irresponsible as that may sound! XD). If you have a problem the maintenance staff will come out immediately and fix it. They also have tons of fun events going on to help you feel like you’re in a tight knit community. Our unit had a long time resident in it before us, so when we moved in we had brand new carpet and appliances which was very nice. They do a great job of cleaning between tenants. On approved credit the security deposit is super cheap so that was a godsend!
A big plus is that there is central air which is definitely hard to find in this area. The patios are huge, I love the vaulted ceilings on second story apartments (makes the whole space feel larger). I think for the price they could do with some upgrading to granite in the kitchens and provide a fridge (yes you have to bring your own). The gym has a fair amount of equipment so it should be enough for people that just want to do a light workout. The pool is nice and the pool area is very nice with bbqs, covered tables, and a gazebo. but it can be very crowded on weekends. Parking for guests is annoying as you have to go to the office and get a pass, so if someone comes after hours you’re out of luck. The only time we couldn’t find parking was very late at night on saturday nights. For a one bedroom you get one covered spot and one unassigned spot… they arent always trying to tow but more recently they’ve been on about it (I used to just not get parking passes for friends and it was fine but now I wouldn’t risk it… they also cracked down on making sure the car with the permit to park in the unassigned spaces wasn’t parking in the covered space… which is annoying considering both of them are our cars.). Oh yeah. there is also a tennis court and a beach volleyball court. I never saw anyone playing volleyball once and tennis was few and far between. but hey. it’s there!
I’ve seen a lot of complaints about bugs but on the second floor I never encountered this… they exterminate regularly.
In general, Rose Pointe is a little slice of paradise in a highly convenient but slightly less nice area. and it is very affordable especially if you score a move-​in special (be sure to ask for one!). We had a few bad experiences with trees, which was beyond their control (though maybe they should have landscaping look into it), but you’re bound to have negative experiences at any place if you stay as long as we did. I would highly recommend Rose Pointe to anyone looking to live affordably in Fullerton/​Anaheim!

Lived here for about 1 ½ years and loved it. Nice staff, great and clean amenities — but unfortunately one rent increase during that period.

Perfect location, great clean pool and nothing but a great community. Whenever we had troubles or questions regarding the apartment, they took care of it right away.

worst customer service! my catalytic converter (car) got stolen! we just been there like 5 months and knowing not only me but there are 2 incident happened too in the same day and they did nothing. as if nothing happened. Thank God we moved out in there and we are now living in a peace and safer place in fullerton.

This is a good place to live because of their amenities, such as a volleyball court, tennis court, pool, jacuzzi, 24hr gym, sauna, etc.
This community is also gated with 2 entrances in the front and one in the back of the property.
I enjoy their community activities, such as casino night, movie night, luau, etc.
The maintenance request are always done within 24hrs and they offer free carpet cleaning once a year.
The reason I gave them a 4 is the staff and price. I have not always had friendly encounters with members of the management team, and some of the maintenance staff. I also feel the rent is way too high.

This is a great place to live and an absolutely amazing community. Every year there are multiple events that the apartments put on for their residents with food and drink for free. The luau, summer BBQ are just to name a few. The management is very friendly and helpful. The apartments themselves are well maintained and have great furnishing. The maintenance staff is also prompt and takes care of any repair fairly quickly. It is slightly over market rate but all of the amenities and the location make it work it.

Manager doesn’t communicate with staff or tenants.
Issues weather noise, maintenance, parking, safety, construction issues are not addressed in a timely manner. Requests are put in several times in order to get the same issue addressed because issues are not addressed the first time.
With a downstairs unit there is always a risk of having disrespectful neighbors (Stomping all the time, watering plants and throwing dirty water on our patio furniture, playing musical instruments late at night, they drop items on the floor, which is my ceiling which shakes my walls. Management never communicated with us on what they have done about that. From what I see, nothing has been done.
Parking policy is not consistent, and not enforced properly. Parking for guests are usually taken by tenants, and cars rarely move from there spots. Only one assigned spot so if you have several cars there might be issues. Also, because Highland street is full of Apartments parking outside is very difficult.
Pet Policy: Although we were told no pets allowed many tenants have dogs on the property.

At first, we thought this place was the best apartment complex we have lived in (we moved from Riverside so that isn’t saying much). It is a quiet community that is well maintained. We rented a studio that was the perfect size for 2 (and a bird) but it is way over priced ($ 1190)! After only 10 months of living here we were ROBBED!!! When we went to report it to management, they wanted nothing to do with it! Don’t be fooled by a gated community, get yourself an alarm system if you are going to live here. Thankfully we are on month to month lease and we are getting outta here at the end of the month!

This place is a rip off. They charge $ 1385 a month for a one bedroom. Wow thats a lot. Although the property is nice and has a lot of ammenities it is still too much money. The management is pretty nice and issuses were solved fairly quickly but the apartment itself isnt that great. It wasnt designed very well theres no dining rooms or anything. But my problem here was the black widows. YES I SAID BLACK WIDOWS!!! The property has nice landscaping which if u didnt know, plants brings bugs. These bug then will bring BLACK WIDOWS. BLACK WIDOWS come to eat the other bugs. Im not just talking a few here and there. Im talking infestation! some of the neighbors had webs with giant widows and egg sacks in the middle that looked like a Halloween decoration. We constantly had to spray and apply killing fertilizers they were everywhere even with webs and egg sacks on our bbq, oh and I must have stomped and killed about 100 of them, easy. Lets just say our 2 year old never got to enjoy our patio.
