The WORST customers service I have EVER received. The«manager«Ventana.(A man by the way) wanted to give me 10% discount instead of giving me my money back after waiting for my food for 50 minutes(when there was only 2 people in the«resturant») and receiving my short ribs RAW and fatty. he said I can’t give you your money back because I’m just the«manager» not the owner. WTF? But wait, right before speaking to him I spoke with a young lady that worked there and she said it’s part of their policy to give money back if your not satisfied with your food. She also mentioned that I would have to have my receipt, which I had. Long story short who ever the owner is needs to hire a manager that is able to take action when given RAW food and bad customer service because Ventana gets a F in my book. NEVERGOINGBACKANDNEITHERWILLMYFAMILY. I’m taking back the one star I gave you too.

Overcooked Food & Missing Items My family took a 20-hr road trip to Disneyland, from CO. We just checked into our hotel wanted some comfort food for dinner. On Dec 62015, we saw Maui Hawaiian BBQ and were very excited to check it out.(We have an L&L back home.) We ordered take out, so that we can chill in our hotel room. We should have check the food before we left. Our complaints: — missing side of rice($ 1.59 extra charge, stolen from us) — missing side of macaroni salad($ 2.49 extra charge, stolen from us) — beef in the BBQ mix was way overcooked($ 10.49 down the drain) — chicken in the BBQ Chicken plate was a little overcooked($ 8.49 was not well spent) There were parts of the meal that was enjoyable: rice, mac salad, and some chicken. But overall, when half of the meal was overcooked, wasted, or not received, it was a bad experience. Note to restaurant: it was ticket#1252 @ 6:43pm(if you cared)

Best short ribs around! They are seasoned perfectly and the mac salad is amazing. The portions are very generous and the food comes out way faster than other Hawaiian bbq’s.

Normal chicken and rice fast food. Nothing special, nothing horrible. TIP: If you are strapped for time or on your lunch break, call your order in ahead of time. You’ll still have to wait, but not as long.

I felt a little ripped off when I walked into this place and saw the prices on the menu. A Hawaiian favorite of mine is the chicken katsu, super filling and delicious. The total came out to almost three dollars over what L&L charges for an entire meal. They certainly aren’t on par with L&L, so I would’ve expected their prices to reflect that. While the food was good, it just didn’t have the wow factor that other Hawaiian BBQ places have. I’ll probably be back, but it won’t be the first place that comes to mind. Minus the star because of the pricing.

The food here is really good but I ordered my food and they told me it will be ready in 10 minutes but it took them 1 hour. I don’t see why it would take an hour for my food. It’s just a chicken katsu

Came in right before they were about to close and they were still happy to serve us and take our order. Before they were closing up they made sure to ask if we wanted some more to drink, if we needed more sauces, and they even had extra beef that was cooked so they just gave it to us for free! Bomb! It was great food! The chicken combo is the best! Great customer service:)

Never again will I let my coworkers drag me here for lunch! It wasn’t the worst food I’ve had, better than a 1 star, but not by much. And I’m hoping my order was just not a good one. My friend that ordered a bowl loved hers and it looked pretty good. First I wanted the Mahi Mahi but then the employee told me that it was fried. So that was out. I wanted to get the ‘small plate’ for 8 bucks since I had other food for snacking but for that option the only non-grilled option was the chicken. Fine. So I went with the chicken. The plate came with veggies, coleslaw, and their special mac n cheese mix. I never get mac since there are usually other side choices but not the time. Ok. So the first huge disappointment was the chicken. It seemed like it was all gristle, barely any meat and the little I found was super greasy dark meat, which probably shot my cholesterol way up. The mac was good but it ended up making me sick. So yeah. Won’t be back anytime soon.

Always satisfied to order from here. I enjoy it better than L&L Hawaiian. Can’t go wrong with any of the chicken items. Their beef selections are good also. The entire menu is good! Check it out for yourself.

I really like this place. I first went here when I was a pre-teen and recently, having moved back to the area, have rediscovered MHBBQ. My personal favorite is the combo #6(short ribs with macaroni salad/rice) Just a few bullet points. — The service is inconsistent. Some days I’ll go in and my order will be done really fast, but the meat will be burned or a really small order. Other days I’ll go in and my order will take a bit longer than usual but then I’ll get a larger, heartier portion of meat. — I’ve learned it doesn’t matter if you order ahead of time for pick up or not, you’ll literally wait the same amount of time in the restaurant. — Since I have a slight reaction to cabbage, I ask that they don’t put cabbage on the plate and they actually put a bed of rice and then double macaroni on my plate which I really appreciate. — It can be a bit pricey if you want an extra piece of meat. For instance it’s $ 4.50 for an extra piece of spare rib, but the plate it’self is already $ 10-$ 11. For $ 4.50 I’d expect at least 2 pieces, or if they’re going to charge for one piece maybe bring the price down to $ 2.50. Overall I still like this place and they do well for how small they are. There’s just some obvious room for customer service improvement. I will continue going back though. This is comfort food for me!

I usually go here this is mine and my husband spot has been for awhile but this last time we went it was horrible and a waste of our time and money We usually order the same thing We usually see Missy she is so great and we love her she’s a sweetie but this last time she wasn’t there and everything was all bad it was so bad that I ended up calling the restaurant back the next day spoke to the manager it all came down to nothing being solved he wasn’t any help. I called back again and tried to speak to the owner it’s been an entire 2 weeks and he hasn’t called me back I was mainly disappointed in the customer service I got and the quality of the food.

I didn’t want to be overly-critical because you really can’t go wrong with Hawaiian fast foods. They are simple and delicious. Maybe we came during rush hour so the service wasn’t great. The girl at the counter was stressed out with the 7 or 8 people in line. The Kalbi, which is usually the signature dish for most Hawaiian restaurant, was over-cooked and chewy. The prices were slightly more expensive than L&L or Waikiki. The restaurant itself is very small which does not allow for comfortable seating. I would come back though so that’s why I gave them 3-stars.

One of my other favorite comfort foods is hawaiian barbecue. This place is very good for just that! I have been here many times, trying barbecue chicken, chicken katsu, barbecue beef, loco moco and pineapple chicken. The barbecue chicken and beef are both tender and leaner than other places I have been to. This is what I normally get because not only are the meats marinated very well, they are not overcooked and portioned very well. On top of that, they have a selection of optional«lava» sauces that go especially well with the chicken I thought but good on either. The chicken katsu is pretty good too. Again, they are pretty good with not overcooking the panko. The chicken is also juicy. Just don’t forget to get your katsu sauce if you take it to go because I have done that before and your experience will be sorrowful when you get home. Loco moco takes a while to cook but still pretty good. Nothing overcooked. Pineapple chicken is generally not one of my favorites anyway but I did try it. It’s just katsu chicken with a pineapple sauce dressed on top in lieu of the katsu sauce. This is pretty good quality hawaiian barbecue. In some ways better than L&L. They do an outstanding job in not overcooking your food which is the detriment at many other hawaiian barbecue joints. Nothing fancy about the store interior at all. Most people take it to go anyways(like me).

Came here on a Monday with a few of my coworkers around 11:30am. It was quite packed! Anyways, I ordered my usual chicken katsu and it comes with some veggies, rice, and a side of macaroni salad. The chicken is soooo tender and cooked to perfection! I think you get a lot for what you pay for, which is $ 7.99. On Mondays and Tuesdays, they have the chicken bowl for $ 5 instead of $ 5.79! Space is a little tight in the restaurant but you can always sit outside too. You pretty much order and wait for your number to be called. All the sauces are out for you to get so you can get as much as you want. The teriyaki sauce is super amazing!!!

When I want spice I come here for a yummy BBQ chicken jalapeño bowl! I do not order anything else except for a side of delicious macaroni salad. The food is always great but I can’t say the same for the service. I always order my bowl with no onions. It’s hit or miss because sometimes they get it right and sometimes they don’t. It’s not that hard to not add onions! They take a long time to get the order out and it is disappointing when the order isn’t right and you’ve been waiting. They have even gotten people that have ordered after me before I get mine and it’s just a single plate. What I’ve tried is YUMYUM but service SOSO!

I was pleasantly surprised by this joint! Tucked away in a little shopping center, I was barely able to spot it from my passenger seat as my hockey team’s goalie was driving. Before the letter Q in Hawaiian BBQ came out of my mouth he had already got into the left lane to turn into the shopping complex! I haven’t had the best experience with this type of food from other restaurants in the past but was willing to give it another go and I am glad I did. For $ 6.99 my Hawaiian Barbecue Chicken combo with white rice and macaroni salad was exceptional! I went ahead and grabbed some Lava Sauce at the sauce station nearby and went to town. I was reluctant at first to discover mac salad as one of the sides to come with the meal as I have hated the stuff since I was a child. However, I decided to begrudgingly give it a go and was shocked. I enjoyed it. I actually enjoyed it. I enjoyed it so much I ate all of it!
