The project was top notch. We had a complete demo and remodel of our master bathroom. Enna and staff were always ready to help and answer any questions. Our bathroom turned out so amazing we are so thankful for the quality work!

Horizon remodeled our guest bathroom and our entertainment room back in 2012. They were punctual, professional, and kept us in the loop every step of the way. I also appreciated their attention to details.
I did leave a review for them on Angie’s List and Houzz then, but what brings me back to Unilocal for a review now is that recently we had a leak in the toilet they installed and some flickering lights in the bathroom. Yes, this was from a job they did years ago.
They still came out for free and fixed the problem. The warranty had expired but my husband tried contacting Enna anyway to see if they can help and they were super helpful!
I really feel that Horizon stands behind their work and supports their customers. I would definitely hire them again for my next project.

Horizon did a great job with our master bathroom remodel! We wanted to update the original master bathroom in our home (approximately 20 years old) and they had great ideas to help us realize our goal of a creating an open and modern space. Their team was very professional, focused on the details, and executed the plan we developed together. Everyone including the workers, project manager, office staff, and owners did a good job. We hired Horizon Construction to demolish our 1950’s kitchen and construct a brand new one. From the beginning they were up front and professional. We were overwhelmed with all the many choices with design and color. Since Horizon Construction has a showroom, Mark and Enna were able to help us create the vision we had for our kitchen. Once the project was underway, we were updated daily by Enna as to when the workers would be here. We were grateful for their reliability since we were living in our home during the construction. That made this large project much less stressful. The workers were trustworthy, courteous and respectful of our property. Throughout the entire project there were only a few issues, as there would be with any project of this magnitude; Mark and his project manager Tal addressed them immediately. Horizon Construction was a little more expensive than our other bids but you do get what you pay for. Our kitchen turned out fantastic! We love it!

.Recently, we were looking to completely remodel our 1968 master bathroom and create a comfortable, beautiful and functional retreat. After reading many reviews and viewing several sites, we contacted Horizon Construction and Remodeling to take on the project. From the first meeting until the final sign off, we found the team to be completely professional, knowledgeable and trustworthy. During our initial consultation, Mark took our vision and made a beautiful and workable plan that incorporated the custom cabinets and high-​end finishes which were consistent with our preferences. Those plans were transformed into a stunning and comfortable oasis which we enjoy on a daily basis. When we had questions, changes, or concerns, they were addressed immediately and always to our satisfaction. During several inspections, our city inspector commented on the outstanding job the team was doing and the rapid pace at which they were completing projects. The office would keep us informed regarding the daily schedule and as to which teams would be here. The workman are all skilled craftsmen which shows in their work. They were respectful, courteous, and meticulous. Everyday the workspace and surrounding areas were cleaned methodically, taking great care to protect our hardwood floors. This process was first rate from beginning to end, so much so we will be using them in the future to remodel our kitchen. Quality work, craftsmanship at the highest level, and a professional team, Horizon Construction and Remodeling are top notch and I would recommend them to everyone whether your project is small or large. Horizon can do it all. Thank you Horizon for a job well done!

I called them for an estimate but they were a little too aggressive for my comfort. I won’t knock them for that. I chose to go with a different contractor.
However, they continue to call me to solicit work. After a few times I told them to take my number off their list and never call me again. The person in the phone said OK but to this day they still continue to call me. I have repeatedly told them to stop calling me but they still persist. Please honor requests to stop calling. Continuing to call will not earn my business.
Be careful giving them a phone number if you don’t want repeated unsolicited calls.

We came to Horizon with a home that was in poor shape and needed not only remodeling, but also major infrastructure repair and updates, such as piping, wiring, A/​C and heating, etc. Horizon was proactive in advising us on design, selection and quality of materials, forthcoming with responses to our questions and concerns. I am not what you’d call an «easy» customer, but Horizon was very responsive in resolving the issues that inevitably come up with any project of this scope. They have also shown that they are willing to follow up on post-​project touch-​ups, etc; they are determined that we be fully satisfied with the project.
We are extremely happy in our «new» home (it IS like new to us,) and gladly recommend them. The project was very expensive, due to the damage and poor maintenance accruing over many years, and Horizon was also helpful in assisting us to find financing when our other sources were VERY slow and unhelpful in responding.

Our kitchen was gross. A DIY job by the previous owner on the cheap. Nasty drawers and cabinets that would shed wood particles all over our plates. A poorly placed dishwasher that couldn’t open all the way made it completely useless. It needed to go.
We researched contractors for over 6 months. Interviewed and got bids from 4. Horizon was the most expensive, which was a concern for us — but their strong reviews, experience and overall professionalism gave us peace of mind that was worth the additional cost.
They worked with our budget to put together a plan that met our needs. After signing with them there were some unexpected things that came up. A few change orders, and our project manager left the company just as we started demo… But throughout, Mark and Enna were helpful and responsive.
The foreman Effy and his whole crew were great to work with and they made a point to leave the job site neat and tidy at the end of the day.
This was our first major remodel and we’re not the most laid back folks… So it was stressful. Despite all of our little worries along the way, Horizon ultimately came through and gave us the beautiful kitchen that we had been dreaming of.

We selected this company after looking at their Angie’s list rating. I am giving one star but service was never provided to us. I made appointment to see the sales manager for some exterior remodeling job. The company called couple of times to set up an appointment. We exchanged emails and pictures etc. The receptionist of the company was very courteous and friendly. We wasted our valuable time explaining the project to them. We never heard back from them… never got any estimate. It’s been almost 6 – 7 weeks now. There was no follow up at all. I would hesitate to hire a company who doesn’t value customer’s time. It’s very unprofessional! Sorry!

This is the third time we hired this contractor. We were very happy with their previous work (a kitchen remodel and replacing all the crown molding and baseboards throughout the house) so we had no hesitation in hiring them again. Mark came over and we talked through our wish list for the bathroom remodel. He offered useful suggestions and came back to us quickly with a detail plan and a price. Mark met with us twice at the tile store to help us make our selections. The whole project then proceeded very smoothly. Enna was quite helpful along the way in keeping us up to date and on top of all the decisions that had to be made. Workers were there every day and they were all well-​skilled, polite and neat. There were a few issues that came up, but Mark and Enna and the workers always heard our concerns and made sure that everything was always completed to our satisfaction. The bathroom turned out beautifully with clean lines and gorgeous materials, just like we dreamed of.

Description Of Work:
Initially called them for some upstairs floor repair, tile and carpet replacement throughout house, including replacement of baseboards. Upon removal of carpet, found some cracks indicative of foundation damage. City engineer required geologic report which contractor arranged for, and contractor worked with city to settle on required remediation, (significant concrete footing additions and drainage) which was responsible for ²⁄₃ of total cost. Contractor also replaced stair banister and rail and installed new front door.
Comments:
The project timeline was extended significantly by the discovery of the need for foundation work and the involvement of the City in that process. Otherwise, all the work of the contractor was excellent, timely and efficient. Every day the worksite was left clean and the house was livable through entire process. Workers were very skilled and eager to please and did excellent work. We had purchased new lighting for the house and they arranged for an electrician to do the installation for us.
Omri, the project manager, was excellent at keeping us apprised of scheduled work times and visits, and with suggestions or variations of our ideas to enhance the house further. The business owner, Mark, was on site from time to time, including at the foundation specialist’s initial visit. Occasionally additional work was recommended, generally for completion of the remodeling, or as recommended for long term benefit.
Horizon’s quality of work is excellent, they are honest, and the price of the work is fair. I can not overstate my satisfaction with my relationship with them.

Not many people would describe a kitchen renovation as a pleasant experience, but my husband and I would.
Ours is a 50s tract home, and we wanted to update the small kitchen without it looking out of synch with the rest of the house, what we like to call «mid century modest,» and we wanted to keep our vintage Wedgewood range without it looking out of place. We were looking for someone who «got» our vision… kind of mid century without the kitsch or the ultra moderne style. It was a challenge to find that someone in our area.
We initially got quotes from two other contractors who were willing to do what we thought we wanted. When we met with our third candidate, Mark Besnos of Horizon Construction & Remodeling, and described our desire to, for instance, relocate the sink, Mark said «You don’t want to do that.» At first we were taken aback, then saw the wisdom when he explained why moving the sink would be a big mistake. He was absolutely right, and we hired him on the spot.
From Day 1 we were impressed by the steady communication with the office (run by his lovely wife, Enna) letting us know what to expect from day to day and addressing any questions or concerns we might have. We were equally impressed by the attention to detail and overall craftsmanship performed by each member of Mark’s crew: every single detail was honed to perfection… cabinetry, floor tile, backsplash, paint, installations, even cleanup. A few changes were accommodated without undue stress or expense.
We did have one unfortunate surprise when the load-​bearing wall with the pass-​through between the dining area and kitchen turned out to need reinforcement due to the work of the «handyman» who had owned the house before us. He had actually cut the support beams to create the pass-​through, left them dangling, and then just closed up the wall. It’s a miracle the house didn’t fall down during an earthquake! So even though the fix meant a little more money than we anticipated, it was absolutely necessary and we now have a safer, more stable home. And the pass-​through looks stunning!
Horizon is a small, family-​owned business run by and staffed by kind, caring, and competent professionals each of whom goes the extra mile to provide complete customer satisfaction. Even though, sadly, Mark had to leave the country to attend his mother’s funeral, the job stayed on track and was finished within the expected timeframe.
Once the job was completed, Enna came over to take pictures and ask for our thoughts on the project. We had a nice chat, and then she gave us a thoughtful thank-​you gift. It’s no wonder Horizon has so many positive reviews, and we will definitely be using them again when we’re ready to tackle our outdated bathrooms.

Was cold called on my cell phone by this company. Told them I was not interested, that my cel number was on the do not call list, and to take my number off of their spam list. That was no less than 8 unsolicited calls ago. They just called me three more times and didn’t leave messages, but a quick google search showed who they are.
A company that harasses via cold call and doesn’t understand the word «no» isn’t a company I would let within 10 miles of my house.
Stop trying to make my business happen, Horizon. It’s not going to happen.

1. I did not call you for an estimate a couple of months ago. I haven’t had any work done on my house in years. And even assuming that I did call you a couple of months ago (which I didn’t) and you were following up, does a follow up really require calling incessantly until someone picks up rather than leaving a message, and then blocking your number and calling incessantly after you were specifically asked not to call?
2. 25 reviews are not satisfied? Of my 38 reviews, 10 are 5 star, 10 are 4 star, 4 are 3-​star. 14 reviews are one or two star. The majority of my reviews (24) are positive. More than half of my reviews are VERY positive, and I give very specific reasons when I do give a bad review. Trying to attribute my bad experience with your company to my personality is childish and unprofessional. It’s also silly to exaggerate my review count when anyone can click on my profile and see the real number.
I stand by all of my reviews. Unilocal is not just a place to leave glowing reviews. It is a place to warn others of the bad experiences, too.

My husband and I are extremely happy with the work performed by Horizon Construction. All the built-​ins and cabinetry work are beautiful. The bathrooms are the envy of our friends and neighbors. Every team of construction specialists that came into our house took great pride in their work. And outside, the pergola and new fencing are beautiful as well. Indeed, our house could be featured as a ‘before and after’ transformation in a designer magazine. With a project of this magnitude, there are bound to be surprises behind the walls. What was so great about Horizon was that they stepped up to the plate and went above and beyond to resolve every issue. Customer service is not just lip service with them, they take it to heart. Their reputation as a premier remodeler is very important to them. Our project manager, Omri Nave, was professional and extremely responsive, as was Enna Eskin in the office.
As a side note I should add that we were originally going with another contractor recommended by friends, but after many weeks and still no firm bid from that contractor, I searched for a contractor on Angie’s List. Omri from Horizon came out immediately and met with my husband at the house we had just purchased (I was in Arizona at the time). Omri worked until very late that night to prepare the detailed bid, and my husband signed on the dotted line without hesitation.
It is never easy to go through a remodel project of this size, especially while you are living in the house. But we are so grateful to the Horizon team for their professionalism and dedication to customer satisfaction. What few issues came up were resolved quickly and without hassle. We would recommend Horizon Construction and Remodeling without reservation.

I have never written a review about any company before, mainly because I have never worked with a company that delivered what it promised. That ended when we contracted Horizon Construction and Remodeling. Not only was the work done beautifully but was finished within the timeline we set, and they delivered as promised.
I can’t say enough about this company. Mark Besnos and his crew are without a doubt the best contractor and professionals we have ever worked with. When we first met with Mark we knew he was the right guy. He works within your budget and has so many great ideas that help with your design decision making. Also, behind every successful company there is a very professional office staff. Enna Eskin makes sure that all the paperwork is done and expedited on time. She’s great to work with and is there to answer any questions you might have. You feel like family with this company because they take such good care of you.
Mark oversees every aspect of the project himself. He arrived everyday before and after his workers finished their work and walked through the project and inspected it. If something didn’t meet his approval he would tag it and have them redo it. He is a perfectionist and it shows when the project is done. His crew cleaned up every night after they finished their work and left us with a clean house to live in and that was not an easy task to do. We did a complete remodel of our master bath, installed new granite and backsplash in the kitchen, installed a new staircase with bronze railings, and installed wood floor throughout the house.
If you are looking for the Rolls Royce of Contractors, don’t look any further. Horizon Construction and Remodeling is the company you want. You won’t be disappointed!

When we bought our home, we knew we wanted to take on a massive remodel/​upgrade. We interviewed and gathered estimates from four Southern California general contractors, all of them coming in with high ratings and reviews from Houzz, Unilocal,Angie’s List and BBB. Horizon did not come in the lowest bidder, however, their professionalism, conduct of business, their interaction with their clients and attention to detail was what made them stand out from the others.
Undergoing a project as big as ours (a complete remodel of master bath, all new windows and doors, new flooring throughout the house, a complete new stair case, opening up a room, blowing out wall, painting the whole interior, changing out hardware, adding a pergola and incorporating a 15′ bi-​fold door) there are going to be bumps and unforeseen turns in the road.
From relocating an outlet for daily convenience to installing a new header beam to comply with city permitting, no task was too small for Horizon the scope of our remodeling project. Their team of designers and contractors walked us through picking out our materials, gave us experienced advice and listened to our dream home vision. What we originally though we wanted or thought about forgoing, Horizon helped us plan and design around our budget and keep the big picture in perspective. At the end of the six-​month project we were very impressed with how Horizon handed all the different types of issues and challenges that arouse.
This house is our «20 year home» where will be raising our children, having family gatherings and hosting countless friends. We have now lived the home for three months (construction free) and we are very happy with the quality of service and out come of our remodel done by the team at Horizon Construction and Remodel.

We employed Horizon Construction (Mark and Enna) in 2013 to remodel our guest and master bathrooms and couldn’t have been happier with how they turned out. A little while after the completion of the project, we noticed a sewage line smell coming from the master bathroom. They came out at the time to check it out, but their plumber didn’t smell anything, nor did he find issues on inspection.
The bathroom smell had been present on and off throughout the past year and a half and recently the tile starting becoming discolored near the base of the toilet. Around the same time, we had some electrical failures in the guest bathroom, so I decided to email them.
It had been a year or so since our last correspondence, but Enna responded very quickly (within a few hours). After a few back and forth emails, they made an appointment to come to the house. I first emailed them on a Tuesday, and they came out that same Friday! Pretty amazing turnaround for a job where no money was involved.
They arrived right on time and immediately began work. For the master bathroom, they pulled the toilet, then tore out the drywall behind and to the side of the toilet to check for leaks. They then flushed the sewer line to make sure it wasn’t backed up. They spent the rest of the day (they worked from ~8AM-4:30PM) putting it all back together — new drywall, new baseboards, fresh paint, double wax seal around the toilet and… no smell! They didn’t caulk the toilet and said to keep flushing it over the weekend and keep checking for the smell. They came back the next week to caulk the toilet as promised and 2+ weeks later, still no smell. It’s difficult to describe the frustration of a phantom smell, but I can describe how we felt — elation — once it was fixed.
The electrical issue was fixed up quickly as well — no lingering problems there.
I wanted to write this review today to thank a company for going out of their way for customer satisfaction. They worked at our house all day (with zero mention of any cost to us whatsoever) because they take pride in their work and wanted to make sure we were happy. Thank you again, Mark and Enna! We are definitely very happy!

My phone conversation started out on a positive note with this company until…
Until the salesperson PERSISTENTLY wanted to meet with my wife and I during our first appointment. I told her that it wouldn’t be necessary to meet us both, because I just wanted a simple quote. She explains, «Well, our company wants to meet the two of you, and go over the details…». I’m sure she meant well, but again I told her, I was just looking for an estimate, then if all sounds good then I would get my wife more involved next time around.
No big deal, right? Wrong. She was more persistent trying to get us to meet on a Sunday, or set up an evening appointment. We went back and forth on this ridiculous matter, and after the gal (Anna) told me that she will need to get an approval by her supervisor…(for what?!). Then that’s where I just said, thank you, but no thank you.
Was I dreaming? At any rate, I hope the other construction companies are reading this review, so you can learn what NOT to do to a potential customer. At any rate, good luck to you all! Oh yeah, and don’t forget to bring your hubby or wifey for this appointment! ;)

There are already the well-​acknowledged passages associated with life; birth, marriage, divorce, graduation, the new job. I’d like to add one more – remodeling.
The decision to embark upon the renovation path, in most cases, involves entering into a relationship with a contractor. Selecting one, in many respects, is only slightly less important than say choosing a spouse or deciding to have children. Remodeling your home can be a journey filled with uncertainty, havoc and frustration as you work toward the beautiful surroundings you envisioned those many months earlier. As the old knight who guarded the room of chalices in a scene from the movie, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, mused, «Choose wisely.»
Fortunately, we did when we contracted with Mark of Horizon Construction. You want your contractor to be competent, trustworthy, and reliable. Mark was all of these and more.
Mark takes a personal interest in his work. He is on the site much of the time ensuring that his workers are doing their best. When things go wrong, he makes sure they get fixed. Like any relationship, there will be disagreements or misunderstandings, but Mark handled them in a professional and sincere manner. The bottom line here is that Mark wants his customers to be happy.
I could relate several episodes of Mark’s commitment to customer satisfaction, but the one that meant the most to us was when we had a sewer line back up into the house (no fault of Mark’s). Out of panic, I called Mark and he came out immediately and with his foreman worked on clearing the line. He didn’t have to do that. He could have told us to call a plumber and gone back to what he was doing.
I highly recommend Horizon Construction and Mark as your choice for your remodel project. You will have chosen wisely.
