Hibbleton

Need to update info? Hours say they are open until 10pm on Saturdays, so I made plans to bring a youth I’m mentoring and some friends to check out the gallery tonight. Got there at 9:15pm to find the doors locked and no one in sight or hours posted.
This is the second time I’ve tried to check out this gallery this month (my friends are showing and I’d really like to see their work) but the first time I was turned away at the door around 9:30pm because they were closing. Can someone please let me know the actual gallery hours? I’m willing to give it one more shot to see my friends’ show.

This walk featured art and artists from the LBGT community. Some nice stuff out that night. The only thing I wasn’t too excited about was the confined feeling. There tons of people and I felt like I was constantly in someones way. Free condom and lube samples– cool!

This place is great to check out local up coming artist! I love coming here the first friday of every month because thats when new exhibits open, and they either have a band or a DJ playing! I also love the new location! Its a lot bigger than their old space, so more room for great art!

The venue is a haven for local artists and the ever-​changing exhibits reflects the hard work and dedication of local art. Orange County isn’t just the home of rich housewives! We’ve got artists living here too!
One of the owners helped propel the Downtown Fullerton Art Walk, which brings the best and brightest galleries in the city for a night of musing and fun. Now that the Hibbleton has found larger space some blocks away from the original location, it would be capable of bringing more artists to the fold!

Hibbleton is a great little gallery in down town fullerton. Its small but impactful. They showcase a great variety of works, and its nice because they will reach out to locals and unknowns instead of only trying to make a buck with big names. You’re more likely to see an undiscovered wonder there, and actually make it in the door. They also have a few fun kitsch sort of vibe with used books and prints always available. Only drawbacks are limited parking and no bathroom. Other than that, go out and see some awesome art, seriously!

Support your local artists!
Hibbleton is small but quaint little gallery featuring some cutting edge and beautiful artwork. The turnover is fairly frequent so you won’t see the same thing twice. The founders of this gallery are Fullerton residents and I’m stoked on the fact that they brought this little slice of culture to the area.
They are really great about organizing grass-​roots events and getting the community involved.
I highly recommend checking this gallery out and I hope the Hibbleton has a long and prosperous life!

A good little art gallery. They had a nice selection of books and zines. I wish it had more pieces and art books. But overall I think we need more places like this.

I walked in for the first time during the first Fullerton Art Walk (ABOUT TIME FULLERTIZZLE) and was impressed with the art. once I realized the theme was songs. The «I Turn My Camera On» piece really captured the songs vibe man! The DJ was also ACE! Ian Dury FTW! I’ll be back if even only to buy a button.

What do my eyes see? An art gallery that showcases urban art… in all places… Fullerton? Whoa, DTF is truly going through a transition. This is a cool place to browse around after having tea at Tranquil or lunch at Rialto Café or shopping at Buffalo Exchange. It is a small gallery and not has cool as BeeHive in DTLA, but just the fact that they are in Fullerton, I have to give it a two thumbs up!

I went to tonight’s open mic. The place was packed but well worth it. There were many talented artists. The place is tiny, so get there a little early if you want a chair. There was a variety of art forms, and the host said that they pride themselves on that.
I had a blast and would love to go again.

i don’t know about you, but every time i find myself in an urban area i definitely do NOT hear people using words like hibbleton… and thwart? where does urban dictionary get this stuff. anyway! i visited this tiny gallery, located in downtown fullerton, this past weekend for instant gratification: the polaroid tribute show. the entire space was covered from ceiling to floor with polaroids in clear plastic bags and labels. these photos must have been beyond tedious to hang, and though the whole presentation was a bit overwhelming, i was impressed with the final product. a friend of mine had submitted about 5 little pics, so it was fun to try and hunt them all down amongst the billions of other submissions.
the space is very basic and plain. you got your three white walls with 90 degree corners… no interesting angles, just a straight forward, bright, white box with one giant window and a glass door to easily peer inside without having to fight your way through any crowds that have clumped up inside.
the people in charge are great promoters because i constantly see shit all over the internet about their upcoming shows and events. and it works. this past friday there were so many people trying to fit inside this tiny little gallery that they were practically spilling out into the sidewalk and out to the street.
i’m interested in visiting this gallery in the future because i’m curious to see how a show with much less work hung turns out.
and back to that definition from urban dictionary… isn’t it *always* necessary to exhibit a great amount of awesomeness? or is that just me?

hibbleton is a great little gallery to check out if you happen to find yourself roaming the mean streets of downtown fullerton.

Hibbleton is probably the coolest place in Fullerton. The gallery is really small, but they always have some good stuff. Past exhibits have been curated by Liberty boardshop (which if you don’t know, and live in the area, you are missing out), and have included some pretty cool artists.
The guys that work there are always friendly, and they have an open mic night the last saturday of every month which is pretty damn cool.
like i said, the coolest place in fullerton.

Cute little gallery in Downtown Fullerton. I went in dropping off postcards for my own show, and took a look around at what they had showing. The artist was something new and different, and I really love how it was all hung. The person running the gallery was outside smoking a cig the whole time I was wandering around, it would have been nice to be greeted but what can you do. Cute place, I’m looking forward to attending a movie night.

I’ve been here once… the exhibit that was up was okay. It’s a small gallery. I’m glad that downtown Fullerton has an art gallery. I’ll probably go here to check out their future exhibits before I have a set opinion of this place.

I couldn’t be any more proud of the owners of this gallery and their accomplishments. I have known the boys who own this gallery for about 5 years now and I never expected them to do something this great together and make Hibbleton what it is for the community. I really appreciate their events and their keen eye for good art/​design in all formats and medias.

The Hibbleton is a cool place to check out/​buy local and young art. It’s owned by 5 or 6 dudes who seem like a good bunch with tastes you can definitely dig. They have showing events with after parties that seem really fun, although I have yet to experience one. Last Friday they had one and I did a loner-​drive-​by just to see if it were hoppin’…and it was. So it’s on my list of to-​dos.
OH AND they have a store pug named Yoda… melttttttttt! kiss kiss Yoda

The art there is amazing and they sell all of it at very decent prices. They also sell a mix of screen printed goods like great t-​shirts for men and women (i already own two that are now my favorites!) and little pillows and stuff. Its great to have a little art right in downtown fully and its free to get in! I saw a local singer/​songwriter play the other night there and WOW was i impressed– hibbleton offers it all and has some of the nicest owners you can find
