Heroes is a good, casual downtown bar and grille. They have a laid back atmosphere, big bar, plenty of seating, and large sizes. Located in the SoCo District. Parking isn’t always convenient at prime times, but there is a new large parking structure right across Santa Fe.

Love this place. We go regularly. It’s a great hang out spot and has good food and drinks. It can get a little pricy. But it’s worth it. The drinks are pretty big in size, which is nice. The staff is very nice as well. I loved the chili cheese fries. They’re huge though!

What a great place in downtown Fullerton, one of my favorite places to go for good food and drink. The burgers, chili, fish and chips, the salad is so good. You can’t go wrong here. Please check it out, see what the people are talking about.

Every time i’ve been here it was pretty good. I’m only rating the bar area and music they play. Music was pretty good and the bar area is alrighttttt. Pretty chill place to grab a drink or two to start off your night. Then you start heading out to the other bars. AND I METLOUIE G from big boys neighborhood here LOL!

This is an good place to go if you have a big group, as the portions are extremely big. The setting is really cool and the ground is covered in crushed peanut shells. The food I ordered was greasy and made me feel really gross after. Service: The service was average. They didn’t pay attention to us when we needed them to. Heroes Chili Nachos: This was a huge portion of nachos, that you could split amongst 5 people. It’s covered in cheese, sour cream, olives, and all those other stereotypical nacho toppings.

I love this place! Fish and chips and chicken strips are bomb! I love how big their portions are too. I ordered food from door dash and it was really good. I got a side salad and it was huge. Just the way I like it. Keep up the good work. Thanks!

They messed up my drink by adding lemon instead of an orange in my blue moon. I tried to get it exchanged and they bartender gave me attitude acting like it normal to have a blue moon with lemon, it taste disgusting.

Sad to say but the service here just keeps getting worse. Nothing like the Chino Hills location. The servers here could care less and have crappy, arrogant attitudes. Seems like the«so-called management» is just as bad. 3 of us ordered turkey sandwiches and we barely ate them… Told our server that the turkey on our sandwiches was dry and smelled funny… This is when she brought us the check(she didn’t check on us once during our meal.) She said we should have told her sooner??? How could we??? She was no where to be found during the entire meal!!! Our drinks were even empty! We politely asked if we could talk to a manager… But of course he never came. We paid our $ 110 check and stopped to chat with the«so-called» manager on our way out, he was rude and defensive. And he obviously couldn’t be bothered to come by our table. He said the server told him and that he checked the meat and it was fine??? Really!?? How did he miss the fact that it was incredibly dry, smelled, and had hard, grayish brown edges… You know when meat gets left out for a few hours and hardens around the edges?) yuck! He didn’t even offer an apology or acknowledge what all of us were saying. This is so disappointing because we have been coming here about twice a week and tell our friends how great it is, but not any more. If you only want beer and peanuts, this is your place. If you don’t mind being ignored or paying $ 14 for dry, 2 day old meat(and DON’T waste your money on their bacon… It was just as bad… flavorless and looked as if it had been reheated 3x over.) Sadly this place is not worth the hassle or money. MANAGEMENTNEEDSTOSTEPIN and do some serious training and quality control here… Looks like we’re not the only ones… the Unilocal reviews are getting worse and worse. Pretty disappointing. :(

Ok, for a first-timer: This place is GREAT! The food tasted phenomenal, the service is exceptional, and yet also, the portion is perfect. If you like Slater’s 50/50, you will love this place. It’s a bit of a hassle to get there by bus(since it’s actually on the other side of the bus station), but I just walked straight to the restaurant on Commonwealth past Harbor; so I was lucky I was able to walk back to the bus stop to catch the bus back home from the restaurant because that whole burger(and curly fries) had me stuffed(and I mean, STUFFED). I asked the bartender/waitress for the Bacon Ortega Cheeseburger with the curly fries and from the size of it, [the burger] looked like it could feed TWO people instead of just one. I loved my entrée; the problem was that they had overdone it with the curly fries on the other half of the plate. I looked at the plate when the server put it on my side of the bartending table, thinking, «Holy crap, that’s a lot of fries!!» So, after I was done with my burger, I ended up having to box up the fries, and I thought that they were going to charge extra for the onion rings in my burger and my Dr. Pepper, but they didn’t, so kudos for that. :D So, would I go back again? For the price(and the distance from my house)? Like I said, the food is great, service is phenomenal, so yes, I would.

Huge portions(including beer) but you definitely pay for it. It’s always fun throwing peanuts on the ground, but it didn’t really fit with the vibe of the place, in my opinion. Idk it’s in a good location, so I’m sure I’ll be back, but it just didn’t wow me or anything. Plus the service was a little slow, and I went on a weeknight, so it wasn’t too busy.

Good Time, Good Vibe, Good Service. Stopped in late Sat night and sat at the bar. Everyone was friendly and they have a great selection of beer on tap. Watched a game, and did some people watching. The crowd is diverse with college kids, old people, regulars and everyone in between. The bar definitely had a lot of regulars. We didn’t eat there so I can’t comment on food but the bar was fun and busy and the dining area seemed busy but quieter which is what I like when I have dinner. See you again!

Heroes Bar & Grill is a fun sports bar to have a late lunch/early dinner with a group of people while watching your favorite sports team battle it on game day. When my boyfriend and I arrived, we ordered some chicken wings and shared a large burger for our meal from the extensive menu that goes from nachos and onion rings to sandwiches and fish meals. What amazed me was the fact that these portions of food were huge in size despite of the food being ordinary in taste. Speaking of large sizes, a 32 oz beer mug is really useful for those who are feeling extra thirsty for craft beer from a gigantic beer list(119 on tap). In addition to a large portion of food and beer, it was nice to eat some complimentary peanuts while waiting for our order, and it was even better to have those shells throw down on the floor if my favorite team was losing. Unfortunately, the service was quite slow and disorganized at times, especially when we waited on our meal for a while, but it was pretty busy and crowded when we arrived at Heroes for the game. Overall, Heroes is a place for sports goers who want to get something out of a large menu of food and drinks(most importantly, beers), and an okay service.

Toss your free peanuts and cares to the floor, it’s time to get some drinks, pig out with your friends! Heroes is a bar/sports bar in Downtown Fullerton. It has a large beer selection, with pint and 32 ounce mega sizes. The large beers are not much cheaper when you buy more, just bigger. A couple of things you should know… Portion size here is large to huge for most dishes. They charge extra for some toppings and sauces, like $.75 for a side of ranch or BBQ sauce or cocktail sauce, which is rare these days. Heroes Chili Nachos($ 16.45) — This thing is humungous! If you have 6 or 8 people then you want the full order, but if there’s only 4 of you, ask for the half order, they do do a half order that costs about 2/3rds of the price of the full order. We gobbled it all up, it’s just full of everything… chili, melted cheeses, guacamole, sour cream, black olives, tomatoes, red and green onions. Beef Brisket Sandwich($ 12.45) — Generous amounts of tender, thin sliced beef on a french roll with au jus on the side and choice of curly fries, steak fries or potato chips. I got the steak fries because I love steak fries but they are known for their curly fries, which are full of flavor and are very crispy but not over fried. Can’t go wrong with either choice. I asked for a side of horseradish, not sure if they charged me for it. You can also swap out the fries for onion rings, soup or salad, but there’s an upcharge. Heroes BBQ Prawns($ 24.45) — A decent amount of shrimp, but this dish still seems pricey to me. Old school fans of Heroes can still order items not shown on the menu. My friend swears by the chicken soft tacos and they were able to make it for him even though it’s no longer on the menu. Come here on a weekend it gets fun and rowdy, old timers mixing with college coeds. Sometimes awkward to watch, but hey, free drinks for those that want them! Big servings, a diverse menu, solid sports bar fare, the only thing is that dishes and beers lean towards the pricier side, but you’ll have fun at this fun throwback bar and restaurant!

Atmosphere is very laid back and cozy with all the empty peanut shells on the floor and Christmas lights around. I liked the complimentary peanuts, XL mugs and big portions. For food, I went for the Blackened Mahi Mahi sandwich with curly fries. The curly fries were fresh and piping hot when served which was a major plus. The sandwich was just alright. The fish was moist, but the sandwich overall could use a bit more flavor. I didn’t like the squaw bread for the sandwich. It was too soft and soggy. I also tried the steak fries from a friend, and they were very fresh and perfectly cooked — creamy with a thin crispy exterior. It’s a nice hangout spot, but I wouldn’t come here for the food.

So Ive been here about 10 times. Every time hoping that it will be the time that changes everything. Its the same thing every time… But you could make the case that the Bar and the Restaurant are two completely different places. As a place, the Bar is great. Ridiculously Big Beer Glasses for about 10 dollars. Equivalent to about 3 beers. The beer selection they have is absolutely bonkers, they have a Full bar and some. Great place if you’re just grabbing a drink with the buds to start the night. You stand by the bar and get yourself a drink, don’t bother waiting to be seated or you will be waiting forever. GREATAS A BAR. As a restaurant: Biggest Flaws… Labor aka # of Servers and Food Quality You walk in and every time I’ve walked in, be it lunch time during the week or a weekend the place has people inside, so they must be doing something right. Back to the review, So you walk in and you wait to be seated, it has usually taken us an average of 10 – 30 minutes to be seated. Sometimes with empty tables. Ill give you an example. Yesterday my friend, my son and I went decided to go to Heroes to watch the 1:30 Football Games. We got there at about 12:00. The place looked pretty full, we waited for about 10 minutes and then we were sat down. They greeted us and asked for bev. I ordered a Snake Bite, and an Old Fashioned, and Curly Fries to start. It took about 10 minutes to get our drinks, and when she came back she said they didn’t have Bitters to make the Old Fashioned. She asked what we wanted to order and we said we would wait for the Fries to get here and then have a go at them and when she came back we would put our order in. When the busboy brought out our fries. The Portions are HUGE, the fries probably feed 4 people if they eat quickly. It took my friend and myself about an hour to eat them while we talked Fantasy and watched Football, I know it took about an hour because that’s when the Waitress came around to see us again. To be frank, last time I was there, I had the same thing happen, they lack good quick customer service, it might not be the waiters fault, because they probably have a lot of tables to cover, but if they had more waiters it would probably be better service. Not saying that she was rude or anything, just the checking up in the table was too few and far between. I ordered the Half of the Super Nachos, because the Full size probably feeds 8. My buddy ordered the Seafood Plater, which to me was a disappointment. The Super Nachos were good, but the quantity far exceeded the quality. The Seafood Plater, looked greasy, and tasted kind of dry, like it was left under the heat lamp a bit. I love the actual location, there is so much going on. With the decoration and the lights that are always hanging from the location. Also another love about this place, when I took my little brother in laws, and my step son(Ages: 4,4,3) they loved, that they give you peanuts in the beginning and you can crush them and trhow the shell on the floor. Another love is the fact that they have HUGE Tv’s in every corner, so you can be watching all the games at once. The total of 2 Beers, Coke, Nachos, Fries, Seafood Plater, was $ 64 dollars. I wish that the service was better and faster, and the food a little bit better. But I love this place to be honest, the beer, the tv, the atmosphere. I will be back, I love this place as a concept and with the beer selection. But my review had to be honest. Sorry Heros, but You do so many other things so well.

Was in downtown Fullerton today and saw this place on Unilocal. We walked in at about 5 o clock and were waiting to be seated(as the sign in the front instructed us to do). No one acknowledged us for a full 5 minutes. It was not busy. They had A LOT of people working so we walked further in and told someone we were trying to get a table. As other guests started coming they were greeted immediately and seated. None of the servers would look over at our table so I couldn’t even ask for a drink menu. Even if they noticed I was trying to get their attention they purposefully looked way and went to a different table. The only time service was prompt was when we were paying the bill. Food was overpriced and just okay. Curly fries about the quality of Jack in the Box. Nothing had much flavor. Couldn’t even get any hot sauce because again no one could be bothered to provide service. Pretty terrible experience to be honest. Feel like I wasted my time and money. Apparently if you’re not white you aren’t welcome, head somewhere else.

This review is purely based on take out and what we encountered upon arrival. So last night our group decided to grab some of their food to go so we could enjoy our beers and company at a friend’s place. Never had we been here before but the pictures and how large their appetizers were kinda sold us, despite the average star ratings(hey we will try for ourselves). Parking on a Friday night during when school is in session is pretty hard especially on the street(think Gaslamp San Diego plus New York streets but much much smaller); good thing there’s a parking structure across the way that shares a train station carport(pretty much free after 6pm). Carded at the front and then walked in not knowing what to do next. Yes it was pretty packed in there with some families but the crowd was mainly young college kids. We assumed it was a «seat yourselves» deal but weren’t interested in eating in so we attempted to flag down some waiters. After about ten minutes we found one guy, he handed us a menu and said he would be back in about 30 seconds… let’s just say he never came back and we eventually fought our way to the front of the bar to order our take out. One of the female bartenders helped us out and gave us pretty good service. We wanted to get some beer there(they have a large list of beers) and it was tempting. Btw, you don’t hold your beer stein like you hold your hot cocoa… that’s how you warm up your beer. Make sure you double check your orders(we almost left with someone else’s order!) but luckily the guy who handed us our food from the kitchen realized his mistake and went back to give us our correct order. Got the half order of heroes chili nachos(which feeds a minimum of 4 people), a half order of the heroes chili fries with guac and sour cream, a pastrami burger with steak fries, and a patty melt with their famous curly fries. Burger meats were a little dry. Average bar food with HUGE portions. Décor is busy and filled with a hodge podge of vintage collectibles as well as lights and drinks of choice. Sawdust on the floors to absorb any spills(good thinking). Would we go back? Ehh maybe but it’s not our scene. Perhaps when it’s less crowded/not a college night.

There are so many different places to choose from when dining in Downtown Fullerton. We ended up at Heroes since we were looking for a casual place to meet up with friends. They also had the Angels game playing which was a plus! We were seated at a 4 top and I was so distracted by all of the random décor. Reminds me a lot of Barneys Beanery here in Pasadena. They give you individual bags of peanuts and you can throw the shells on the ground which is kind of fun. Within 10 minutes of being seated, 3 different servers came up to us to take our orders so I guess I can’t say we weren’t attended to. LOL. My boyfriend and I originally wanted to share an appetizer and then an entrée so we ordered a half order of the nachos. When they arrived, they were HUGE… and needless to say, we didn’t need to order the brisket sandwich we had our eye on. The food was good, nothing too special. It was really awesome that they have over 100 beers on tap. I had a blonde ale and it was really good. All the dishes are super sized so I recommend sharing! They have a parking lot on the side and a large shared parking structure with the train station. Overall, it was a good experience.

This is my favorite bar in the Downtown Fullerton area. One, they have decent seating which is first come first serve so get there at a good time or keep an eye out for groups leaving. And two, everything is served in large portions for both drinks and food. I love coming in and ordering a ice cold Sam Adams Cherry Wheat. A nice big mug at a reasonable price. The music selections are great as well. I rarely order food but if I do, I’m usually with a group. It’ll take a group to finish most portions. Never have I had a bad experience here. Nothing but good brews and fun. Dinner 8÷25÷2014 and other visits
