Fullerton Eye Institute

My first visit was in 2014. Today ⁴⁄₂₀₁₅ is my second annual check up. I have a scar on my left eye and a family history of an eye condition I get my eyes check out, I’m here as a preventative caution.
Dr ZDral is an excellent doctor. He is very thorough and listens carefully.
Setting: a clean and modern office. Primarily senior patents! I’m the young one. Lol.
Be ready to wait. My first visit I was here for one and half hour — I figured maybe it as my initial visit. Today on my second visit, it was 2 hours! My goodness. This is ridiculously! I came in on a weekday late morning too, mid week. It’s not a weekend or a Monday where it’s usually busy.
–2 stars for punctuality and lack of communication to their patients on the update. After over an hour of waiting I asked for the update and THEN tHE STAFF updated me.
The 3 stars are for the knowledge/​presence of the physician, cleanliness/​update of the office, and the politeness of the staff.
Area of improvement is they need to inform their patient right when they sign in on the expectation of the visit, like the waiting time. People are on lunch break or going back to back dr visits!

Horrible, rude, unprofessional IDIOTS! Have NO IDEA what they are doing!!! Had to return my glasses to be sent out for a THIRD time because of the wrong prescription twice and the wrong optical center! The «technicians» with probably 6 months of «certificate» training were SO rude, condescending and unprofessional each time I came in either for an adjustment or to correct the wrong lens!

No medical place is ever really great, because they live and breathe bureaucracy and forms and never really think about how to improve the place.
But this is an OK place to have your eyes checked out (is 3 clearer, or 4?), get glasses (though Lenscrafter might have better prices during sales), and see either a medical eye doctor (opthamologist) or optometrist. As usual with most medical places, there aren’t many late appointments, and those aren’t very late. If there was ever a doctor smart enough to have even one night with appointments ’til 8pm, it would be awesome, but they have no financial incentive to do that.

Everyone is very nice here. I’ve been coming here for 5 years now. I get both my ophthalmic work, and optometric work done here. Dr. Zdral (Ophthalmology) is really nice, and very gentle (I’ve had chalazions cut open and never had a stitch of a problem.) Dr. Esser (Optometry) is also really nice, and he has no problem answering my endless string of questions, I am what a few people refer to as a «hypochondriac».
Their eyeglass selection is pretty good, and the technicians know how to please a person.
