DANG. I’m so glad my friend told me about this place.
I went here looking for my first portrait lens and I was so happy with my experience. I came here the saturday after thanksgiving and they were having a sale on some of their lenses. I was looking for a portrait lens for my Canon Rebel Ti5 and I spoke with one of the staff there named Chris. I’m a relative beginner with cameras and Chris was so helpful in his recommendations as well as educated me a bit about different lenses, apertures, the functionality of each and so on.
I opted for the 50 mm f/1.8 prime lens which was highly recommended and highly reviewed on all the online forums I went to. And the BEST part was it was SO INEXPENSIVE at the store. Online, the same lens went for a good $ 100-​$ 110 and at the store, I was able to get it for $ 85.
What’s even better is its only 15 minutes from my house. Wow. This store is a a bit small but I think its great because the staff are very knowledgable, helpful, and the store is inexpensive which is huge because photography is a freaking expensive hobby to pick up.
Anyhow, I HIGHLY recommend coming here to all my friends interested in photography. You won’t be disappointed!

I came here today, for the first time, with the hopes of supporting a smaller local camera store and purchasing a $ 150-​$ 300 monopod and some accessories. However first impressions and customer service are a big deal so this is definitely my first and last time ever coming to this establishment. Here’s why:
Basic story: I walked out of here after being the only one in the store and not even being acknowledged at all (as a customer, or even just as another living human) then got a sarcastic sounding «thaaaanks» as I left.
Full story:
When I walked, in the man behind the counter was helping a single person, (the only other customer in the store) so I started browsing the monopods, shoulder rigs, camera sliders etc.
When the customer was done and had left, I expected at least a «hey can we help you with anything» «let us know if you need any help» or some similar from of acknowledgment that I was a living breathing human being (and customer)
Instead, what I heard, was the man behind the counter telling another employee something about how his dad couldn’t walk or make it down the stairs or some other personal story. I wasn’t listening intently but I couldn’t help hear everything because the three of us were the only people in the small store. While I checked out the different features of the few monopods on display and price tags they kept talking for a few minutes. I took a peek at the film behind the counter and decided I could get all of this stuff at another store or online probably way cheaper.
As I opened the door to leave I got a sarcastic sounding «thaaaaaanks» which were the only words spoken to me the entire time I was there, and replied «yep» as I continued my way out, never to return again.
I am disappointed because I do like smaller camera stores like this and I do need a monopod with video head, but I also like to be treated as a human.

The employees are super helpful because I’ve dashed in their a few times to get camera help and they’ve immediately helped me out and answered all of my amateur questions. This place can get pretty expensive if you are on a student budget but their locality to the CSUF campus is great. My only wish for them is that they should extend their hours cause they could get a lot more business.

When I purchased a trigger system on-​line, I couldn’t get the transmitter and receivers to communicate with each other. I brought it into Fullerton Cameras with the desire to pay them to show me why it wasn’t working. Not only were they friendly, they spent time working with it, found out I was sold the wrong trigger, and then looked up and gave me the info for the correct one knowing I would return the original and buy again on-​line. …And then said there was no charge. Wow. These guys understand customer service. The next time I rent a lens, it will definitely be here.

i often stop by if i’m in the area and it’s almost a problem how often i come here. mike, chris and josh have always acknowledged me when i come in and have always made small talk even when i didn’t buy anything. i love that they’re passionate about photography and have made several purchases here. it’s a small business so some items are very well priced and others are not but that’s to be expected. i purchased a used 5diii, t2i, several lenses and everything worked fine. i love that i can rent everything before i buy it and their rental policy is awesome. they also buy used gear and i was able to sell a few lenses here instead of dealing with craigslist. i recommend this place and continue to shop here.

Chris & Mike were very helpful with any questions on products. I highly recommend this store for any information or help with cameras. After driving to multiple electronic stores & camera shops this was the place most knowledgable with the lowest prices. THANK YOU again.

I absolutely love having such a great local camera store right down the street from me. I’ve been going to these guys for years whenever I need to rent a lens. Their rental prices can’t be beat, they’re friendly, they have a good selection, and the best part is they know photography. They won’t pressure you, they let you take your time when selecting a lens and are always happy to give input. You can really tell they’re on your side.
On top of all this, they have a pretty great selection of vintage/​classic cameras and lenses. Pentax, Canon FD, 8 mm, 16 mm, to name a few.

So hard to find a good camera store! Dashed across OC to get here – they closed at 6 – got there at 6:02, desperate. The lights were going off but they let me in, figured out what was wrong with my camera and gave me their last media card (the only one they had that worked with my antiquated camera.) then found me a battery, a charger, tested it and sent me on my way. All I can saw is a Godsend, since I was on my way yon shoot publicity photos. Can’t say enough! Thank you!!!

Me and my girlfriend were visiting from HI. We are very impressed with the selections of film and film cameras along with digital cameras. For film, I’ve seen Pentax, Nikonos, Canon, and a few others. For digital I’ve seen Nikon and Canon. Haven’t had time to fully look at the selection for the old school stuff. They have a wide variety of lenses and they come with the lens caps.
They also have filters, dollies etc most accessories that you need. I have to say I’m impressed with the selections and the fact that you can’t argue with the prices. Coming from HI these prices are cheap in comparison and the condition of the items are great for being pre owned.
The guys that run this place are cool. Ask them almost any question and they have answers to your FAQs about cameras. I love this place and I will return to this store when I come back to Cali.

Went to rent a lens and got so much more – the guys there are super helpful and answered the many questions I had about specs, lenses, etc… very patient and knowledgable. Also you can’t beat the low prices… love this place!

I always buy things online to save time and money but I also sometimes feel a little guilty about how big online retailers push out the small brick and mortar stores that we all like to have in our neighborhood.
With this in mind I stopped by Fullerton Cameras to buy a couple of straps. The moment I walked in, I felt a little unwelcome (the fellow was not very cordial) but I stuck around and tried out some of the straps available.
After 10 minutes or so of trying different offerings, I was rebuked by one of the employees for trying to adjust the straps and advised that they are all the same length. I was told what I was doing can cause parts to get lost, yadda yadda…
Sorry is my business inconveniencing you a little? No problem. I’ll buy my strap online and save myself some inconvenience of dealing with much higher prices coupled with rude salesmen and garbage customer service. Lesson learned.

Why can I say about these guys! Mike and Chris are the reason I rather drive from oceanside to San Diego instead of renting from that other online rental place. They always accommodate me and always have what I need. There service is awesome and I never have a problem with their equipment and always ready to answer my questions. My only problem is that I wish they were in San Diego county lol.

I am so happy i did my research and decided to come to this place. I had just bought a new Nikon S9500 less than a year ago and i was so upset that within that time the lens cover broke. Not having any experience on the subject i wanted to go somewhere knowledgable. I also didn’t want to get taken advantage of. I decided to give this place a try. I did not pay much for them to take it apart and tell me what was wrong. A few days later they called to tell me how much it would be to repair on my own or if it was under warranty they would send it out to Nikon for me.
Luckily it was still under warranty so they sent it out for me to Nikon. I think this was very nice of them to do. They technically could have told me I would have to do the warranty thing on my own but they didn’t. They took care of it for me. They also could have lied and charged me an arm and a leg to fix it but they were honest with me. I totally would recommend this place ! I really hope my camera doesn’t fail again but if it does I will go back to these guys.

This store is overpriced and the staff is rude. They take advantage of people who they think don’t know anything about cameras. Every time I go I regret it. Stay clear of this dump.

These guys are great! Extremely knowledgeable and they are not like typical camera store workers (sooo many are sooo pretentious).

Nice mom and pop looking business that seems to always have whatever it is I need. While maybe not the very best price for the bargain shopper for sure the most knowledgeable place around.
Save yourself the headache and misinformation of places like Best Buy and come here.

Great local shop! Stopped in here today on a recommendation from another photographer, after Calumet suddenly closed their doors. I went in to set up a rental account and ask some questions, and I was impressed. Chris was extremely helpful, and I even found a used lens I had been eyeing and bought it. It is quite a drive for me, but worth it for great service.
To those who said they do not charge a deposit, I’m not sure why you think that. They do charge a deposit of the replacement value, and if you use a debit card it will be a bank hold. BUT, they are willing to take a debit card which some places aren’t, so that’s a plus.

I had to rent equipment for a last minute event and I have to say that I was VERY pleased with the service Fullerton Cameras provided. I read on here that the store owner was not friendly but I had a great experience with him. He was extremely friendly and very helpful with what I wanted.
The big thing that made my experience enjoyable was the fact that they don’t require a deposit for their equipment. I rented an audio recorder from Sammy’s camera and they literally charged a 250 dollar deposit which I wasn’t very happy about. This rental place only required a credit card on file so I was very happy with that. All the employees were very friendly. Solid Business!

I started taking a photography class thru Cypress Community. The professor, along with a couple other students, recommended Fullerton Cameras to purchase accessories. I stopped by yesterday to buy a UV filter and also a lens hood for my Canon Rebel XSi.
I didn’t catch the guy’s name, he was a larger man, but dude, it was so hard to get help out of him! I already told him I was new to photography and wanted to know which UV filter to get and his answers were either ‘they’re all about the same’ or ‘depends on what you want’. It was so vague. And as for the lens hood, he just grabbed one and put it on my lens. I asked if there were other styles and he said Canon makes just one for my 55 mm. Really?! Whatever. Maybe it’s cuz I only spent $ 17 but still! A little customer service wouldn’t kill ya!
