History

Established in 1953.

Denny’s started out as Danny’s Donuts and grew from a single restaurant in California to over 1600 restaurants.

The Denny’s in Cape Coral was established in the late 1980’s. It has been remodeled several times, most recently in late 2012.

The staff is well known in the community for their friendliness and great service. The establishment is also known for its value pricing and delicious food.

JR is the General Manager of this Denny’s. He has been a fixture with Denny’s since the 1980’s. He practically grew up in Denny’s.

In addition to JR you have Nancy, Angel and Lance the other managers.

The next time you are in be sure to introduce your staff to the manager on duty.

In addition to the managers there is a great staff of servers, cooks and server assistants ready to please you and cater to your needs.

We went in for breakfast at 11:30 in the morning and we were greeted by a hostess that what annoyed by something. This should have been our sign to leave, but we were seated right away and immediately greeted by our waitress. She took our drink order and disappeared for over 15 minutes. When she returned, she had forgotten our coffee and apologized and told us she had gone on break and totally forgot.
We placed our food order and again she disappeared.
Meanwhile, we could hear people arguing in the kitchen and I noticed that they were discussing my waitress. People at surrounding tables were being served but there was no sign of our waitress.
Our food did arrive after 30 minutes, delivered by a different employee. Never saw our server again, never received coffee refill, no one bothered to check back for anything. Our bill was left on the table when our food was served.
Should have gone to Waffle House!

It’s a Dennys, for gosh sakes. Not expecting culinary excellence. We were here at noon on a monday, got seated and served right away, they even accommodated my fussy husband’s substitution requests and brewed fresh coffee for us. Clean when we were here. Better than I expected from the reviews.

I ate here today with my brother and father. The place was filthy — it was mid afternoon and the young, not so friendly host said «I don’t know if I have a clean table to seat you» in an area I requested because my dad uses a walker. Our server was ok, food was decent but the staff — where is the manager! There are employees talking crap about other employees right across from our table while «supposedly» cleaning. There was a huge pile of wet napkins on the floor 2 tables away, lots of sugar and other package things on floor. For the hour we were there nothing got cleaned up — someone was sweeping but at a snails pace. The young man at the front entrance keep pretending to sweep. The best was when the waitress yelled to the cook «when was your last one night stand?» and he rolled his eyes and said «there is too many to remember!» Wow — never will visit this place again. The prices were high too, $ 34 for 3 of us — one was a senior discount and I just had a small appetizer. Need management to get involved. No wonder Denny’s, esp that one, is not busy.

Went here for dinner, across from hotel we stayed at. Food was good but they brought cold fries, my sister ordered chips and queso and the waitress brings her sampler and says sorry we are out of queso. Our drinks were continuously forgotten. Made no sense why she brought chips lol. Server seemes slow and overwhelmed. I have served for many years and she had barely any tables. We called the manager over to fix the food and they didn’t take anything off the bill. For eating my burger and having them swap my fries i was already done with my burger mostly. So i just wan not impressed. They were out of alot of food when we were ordering. Poor management happening.

I have driven by here and never saw this Denny’s. Got my free birthday meal. I must say it was good. Tina our server was very good.
My wifey quesadilla was tasty for her.
My grand slam was a bit different. My over easy eggs was really medium and my english muffin a tad burnt.
Coffee strong & hot.
Over all good place just a few hiccups.

The food is great and the service is some time good but my big complain is that the wait time is horrible. I had to leave the restaurant a couple of times after siting during my lunch from work because no one will take my order. I only have one hour for lunch and it would be impossible for me to eat here even if i like the food. I have been there also on my days off and like 7pm and it is the same thing. I had to wait a long time to get my dinner. I would eat here every day if I could get better waiting times.

I traveled way out of my way with my kids to get my favorite meat lover’s scramble Sunday morning waiting about 30 minutes standing before being seated. I will NOT go to the Denny’s closer to home on Gladiolus because it is dirty and the service is more than terrible. I was disappointed to find that my favorite meal was no longer on the menu but the pleasant server Ashley was great, she had the cooks make my favorite meat lovers scramble and just charged me like the new meat omelette. That was fine with me so that I could get what I travelled all the way over there to eat! haha! They actually served me the wrong breakfast at first but Ashley quickly went to throw her tray at the cooks (she was cute and funny about it). It must have worked because minutes later she had the right dish which was great and I was happy. It was nice having a server that wasn’t crabby because she was so busy… it IS stressful to be busy and even if service is slow and drinks don’t get refilled because of it, a smile and good attitude can go a long way :)
