SMD Consulting & Accounting, LLC was created to provide new, small, and emerging businesses in North Dallas, Frisco, Plano, McKinney, Allen and the surrounding communities with more than just a tax return each year.

We pride ourselves in adding real value to our clients by being proactive, insightful, and resourceful.

Our focus on business consultation in addition to traditional CPA related services, such as tax preparation and bookkeeping, is a hallmark of SMD Consulting & Accounting, LLC.

Some of our clients rely solely on our ability to prepare their tax returns and manage their bookkeeping. However, most call on us for some or all of the other services to help them develop and/​or implement their business gameplan.

History

Established in 2006.

Formed in 2006 by Sean M Duncan, CPA, SMD Consulting & Accounting, LLC has grown to one of the largest firms in Frisco Texas (one of the fastest growing cities in the United States). Sean formed the company in an effort to bring big business advisory services to the small business owner and individual. What started as a one man show has developed into a team of advisers that work diligently to help clients not only get returns filed and books organized, but to also teach them how to be more effective business owners. We have a passion for teaching, so bring those questions to us. The more questions you ask, the better business owner or taxpayer you become.

Business Owner

Prior to founding SMD Consulting & Accounting, LLC in Frisco, TX, Sean advised the owners and executives of medium to large organizations on business management, taxes, life/​work balance, and other «CFO-​like» topics. When he is not exhausted from chasing his three kids around or distracted with San Diego Chargers games (you didn’t think the SMD logo and website colors were an accident did you?), Sean advises small to medium sized business owners on those same topics. He is passionate about not being your «typical CPA» and loves supporting individuals and business owners through teaching, tax preparation, bookkeeping, and consulting.
