History
Established in 2004.
John Hudnut began working with glass in 1990 during his senior year at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. For many years, John worked as an apprentice for other glass artists and studied glass in Philadelphia, Paris, Corning, Seattle, Denver and Breckenridge. In 2004, John decided it was time to pursue glass on a full-time basis. The name Gatherhouse refers to the process when molten glass is daubed on the end of a glassblower’s hollow steel rod — the so-called «gather».
