Unity Hospital

PLEASE READ…
This «Hospital» treated someone that I cared for deeply with negligence. They gave us wrong information that the U of M said wasn’t true… When we wanted to bring her to the U of M hospital they wouldn’t give us the medicine if she didn’t take the medicine she would have died on her way there. The day she died the doctors told us she would have lived longer if Unity gave her the correct medication but NOOO their SELFISH and ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY!!! I strongly advise anyone reading this not to go to Unity, they’re the reason for my grandmas death and I will Never forget or forgive them…

This past winter Unity provided outstanding end-​of-​life care for my mother-​in-​law. The nurses in particular were wonderful and the doctors also displayed care and empathy. People make a difference and the caregivers at Unity deserve 5 stars

My daughter had an asthma attack on her college campus yesterday and was taken by ambulance to Unity emergency room. I was pleased with the choice of hospital, as I have previously had pleasant interactions with the staff and the remodeled facility.
My husband and I met her there at 5:30 p.m. She was wheeled in from the ambulance bay and placed in the wait room. The EMT was amazing and really helped our daughter calm down and breathe normally. The nurse did a triage on her about 45 minutes later. The emergency room was full, and they were very busy with cases that should have been seen by urgent care, so I understand the staff’s predicament. The triage nurse kept saying she was almost ready to be admitted to the back area, but it didn’t happen until 8:00 p.m. after I asked for a referral to an urgent care center since they were in no hurry to actually help my daughter. By the time the doctor examined my daughter, all her readings were normal and he couldn’t recommend any further testing. As she already had an asthma emergency management plan, we asked to leave and she was discharged at 8:35.
We wasted so much time here, and I am certain that we will not step foot in the ER there again if we can possibly help it.

Between my wife and I we’ve had five stays at Unity Hospital over the last ten years — my wife says they are baby-​boomer operations — joint replacements. We have always thought of Unity Hospital as a thoroughly professional facility staffed with caring people willing to do whatever it takes to get you fixed. They’ve done a good job remodeling and expanding the surgical check-​in and pre-​op areas. The check-​in procedure has been streamlined. Much faster and smoother now. And finally the supreme compliment for that long running joke that is hospital food. Lunch in the cafeteria had a bigger spread this time around. And my wife actually was looking forward to their Mexican food for lunch. My my, how far we have come.

I will start my review with a note saying that I’m probably a little biased, because this is my prior place of employment.
After seeing the in’s and out’s of this place, I can definitely say I would go there myself! The only reason I didn’t give this place 5 stars is because let’s be honest… it’s a hospital.
The doctor’s are all very personable. There isn’t a single one that I wouldn’t want taking care of me.
