History
Established in 1956.
1956 Dick St. Martin bought a small existing store on 19th & Logan in Minneapolis. 1958 moved to 1934 W Broadway. 1990 moved to an old grocery store at 2101 W Broadway.
1971 opened a 2nd location in Brooklyn Park. St. Martin brothers, Tom & Guy, worked for their father until he retired in 1974.
1980 we moved into the age of technology. Broadway was one of the first in the industry to use a computer system. It was also the year their father died & the economy went through a recession.
To combat the recession the family decided to add more party goods, tables, chairs & linens, which became such a big part of the business that in 1985 we opened a 3rd location, Broadway Party & Tent Rental. We had to open a separate Party Store because we had mothers of the bride looking at linens next to jackhammers!
2005 Mpls location closed. March 4, 2010 brother Tom, retired leaving Guy as sole proprietor.
June 2013 moved Party location to Fridley.
Employs about 40 full-time, 15 part, 10 seasonal
