Printonyx is a one-​stop shop for a wide variety of services including copying, faxing, internet access, digital scanning and output, binding, graphic design and print brokering. Whether you need full-​service or can do it yourself, we offer PC and Mac computers with black and white, color, and oversized black & white copiers.

Our software includes Word, Publisher, Excel, Power Point, Photoshop Elements for PC and Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat, Photoshop, Pages, Numbers, iDvd and Keynote for Mac.

We offer bulk mailing services and mail merging as well as the handwork required for those mailings. Located across the street from the Friday Harbor Post Office and the San Juan County Permit Center makes our shop convenient to many county and town services.

History

Established in 1987.

Started by a local teacher, Homer Smith, as a «boutique» for personalized items to attract the tourist trade, our name came from product «Onyx» which was run through a printer/​copier and applied to t-​shirts, mousepads, ceramic, etc. The business evolved in 1988 with the second owner, Ralph Walter, into a print brokerage, copy center and computer repair shop. In 1994, the current owner, Kristine Brown, changed the focus into what it has become today – the «closest thing to Kinkos» offered on San Juan Island and definitely «a helpful island communication center.»
