Going to a Dr does NOT get any better than this… I would HIGHLY recommend anyone needing a GI Dr to go here!!! Dr. Kundu is amazing… I was sent here by a referral from my Primary Care Physician and local GI Dr. I don’t remember specifics of my first time, since I have been going here since around 2008 – 2009. Dr. Kundu is a really knowledgeable Dr and VERY caring. Every time I go to his office, the staff is friendly and remembers me. The girls that takes my blood pressure is always complimenting me on my nails etc, and that makes me feel good ;) Dr. Kundu comes in and greets me, usually shakes my husbands hand if he is in the room w/me and greets my husband by first name basis. Dr. Kundu always remembers my current medical state, and goes over every detail that we covered during my last apt, and sometimes it has been like 3 months. If you need a procedure done, which I have had several times, he performs it at Community Regional Med Ctr(Fresno Community). He is so awesome that HE himself calls while you are in the room to schedule your procedure!!! Most offices the Dr tells you what you need to have done, and then hands your chart off to the office staff to handle… but not this guy!!! He calls, gets you a surgery date and time before you even leave the room. He is very attentive and takes plenty of time w/you while you are in the room w/him, and that is why sometimes you have a long wait, but it is definitely worth it to have a Dr that cares and is very thorough. He also explains things to you in a way that you can understand, or he takes the time to talk to you until you understand. He also takes things like procedures very seriously and does not enter into them lightly. I really love that when I have called his offices for something in particular, he gets on the phone and talks to you HIMSELF… something that I have never had w/other physicians. It is both comforting and reassuring. Before your surgery he comes in and talks to you… not every Dr does that. He again, explains the procedure and reassures you that everything will be ok and that he will do his best to help you, and you really feel that. He even let my husband walk to the OR when they wheeled me back and my husband was still standing there talking to me as they were administering anesthesia. Dr. Kundu is always complimenting my husbands choice of clothing, lol. He always is asking about my children, and tells me that we gotta get me better so that I can go home and care for them. Whenever he orders lab work, he calls you to give you the results. Most Dr’s order labs and then you never hear from them(if the numbers are normal). After surgery, he comes to check on you and makes sure you are comfortable. He continues to check on you in between procedures, which is awesome. He makes you feel like you are his ONLY patient!!! While in the hospital you can expect a visit from him. He would often come see me, sit at the end of my bed and pat my leg, arm etc and reassure me that I was going to be ok. I had a nurse caring for me, and the way the Dr was acting– the nurse that that Dr. Kundu was my father… he is that caring and warm. It almost feels like we have developed a father/daughter relationship. He has a fabulous bedside manner that cant be beat. This Dr has done sooooo much for me. With my illness I have been to UCSF(which Dr. Kundu is an extension of) and UCLA for treatment, and have never found that one Dr that was a perfect fit, but here he is and I couldn’t be happier. I am going to continue my treatment w/Dr. Kundu, and thank GOD for bringing him into my life and would recommend anyone needing these types of services to at least check him out, you wont regret it. He will do everything in his ability to help you and be compassionate while doing it. The staff is friendly and professional too, his assistant Hermenia is great.
