Payless Transmissions & Clutch

Called to talk to Rodger and he was so rude to me. I guess he thought i was calling to sell something. I don’t know but he immediately hung-​up in my face. I don’t know how the transmission work is but if it’s anything like his attitude, I’d steer clear.

We set an appointment for Tuesday June 3, 2014 at 8am to have a broken motor mount repaired on our GMC Yukon. We called on Monday June2nd to see if we could change the appointment to Wednesday June 4^th. Since we live one hour away and needed to be in town on that day it would have been very convenient for us. They told us they were booked and would only be able to do the repair on Tuesday. We told them we would keep the Tuesday appointment and proceeded to rearrange 3 peoples work schedules to make the Tuesday appointment work.
We made the trip on Tuesday morning arriving before they opened (approximately 7:45am). We went in after they opened, signed the repair order and gave them our phone number to let us know when it would be ready. We came in two cars so we would not have to sit and wait for 6 hours while they did the repair. Since we were in town, we ran a couple errands then just waited for the phone call. My husband finally called them around 2:15pm to check on the progress. The receptionist (Tamara) said it wasn’t done yet but that we could call back around 5pm. We couldn’t understand why it was taking so long but figured that as long as it gets repaired that was fine.
We arrived at the shop at 5:00pm and noticed that our Yukon was parked in their parking area, so we assumed that it must be done. We asked Tamara and she said «no, it’s not done, we never started it». Needless to say my response was «WHAT»?!! She proceeded to tell us that they didn’t have any empty bays to put it in and pointed to the bays (with 3 cars in the 4 bays). We told her «when we got here this morning there were no cars in the bays and that we had specifically made an appointment». She didn’t know what to say since we called her on the lie. Her response was we could leave it overnight and they could work on it tomorrow (Wednesday, the day we were told they couldn’t do it on). I said «I sure hope we are going to get a discount». She said let me go talk to Roger Rodriquez (the owner). We went back into the office where she was talking to him. He said sarcastically «sorry for the inconvenience, we had an ambulance come in and it takes precedence over your car». I asked what he was going to do for us. He threw the keys on the counter and said «here’s your keys»! I said «that’s it»?
He didn’t offer any apologies or solutions. He was very sarcastic and unprofessional.
They should have told us when we called at 2:15pm that they were not going to be able to do the repair. Instead, they did nothing and said nothing when we called to check on the progress.
So, we not only wasted an entire day, rearranged 3 peoples job schedules but had to pay for gas for two vehicles for a 2 hour round trip.
We feel we should at least be compensated for the cost of gas for two vehicles and our time.
This is unacceptable behavior, they were rude and acted like it didn’t really matter.
SO…0 STARS. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME. THERE ARE TOO MANY REPUTABLE BUSINESSES TO CHOOSE FROM.

The only place in town that gave a quote with a range for rebuilding my transmission. They were also the only place with a decent warrantee. I like a place that stands by their work. Ended up with a rebuilt transmission a replaced axle and new cv boot for less than the original quote.
