Oh Wow Nickel Arcade

Workers are nice and eager to answer all questions. $ 2.95 entrance fee and all games are either 1 or 2 nickels. Super cheap fun. Not the most amazing games in there but there are plenty of classic arcade games, racing games, and some shooting ones. It is a little older inside but the point of going is to have fun and play. Definitely worth checking out.

Bad, just bad. 50% of the games were broken, a majority of the rest ate your coins and didn’t give credits. EVERYTHING was filthy, games, tables, floor.

Nice staff! Friendly and attentive. Glad places like these still exist. Good for burning a few hours in a day without dropping $ 50+ on a movie.

This arcade has seen some better days, when it opened in the late 90’s the crowds flocked here but as the years have gone on it’s become an arcade graveyard, the admission has went up from a $ 1.95 to $ 2.95. A small price considering how much value your dollar can bring. So the arcade itself is split into two sections one being for games and the other for redemption machines, the cabinets themselves are in poor condition as they’ve clearly taken some punishment over the years.
Most of the games buttons & joysticks were in poor condition, other games were turned off, some had audio problems (no sound), or their screens were malfunctioning. Seeing a «for sale» sign on most of the games brought a glimmer of hope because someone out there who’s a gamer and would likely restore these games if they purchased them.
The most you’ll spend on a game is $ 0.20 cents (and that’s for a redemption machine). Most of the games are pretty much 1 to 3 nickels at most so that value alone is superb since Boomers & Blackbeards will charge far more to play the games.
The venue was clean despite being crowded, it’s still a great place to play games as they were originally released but the days of playing Marvel vs Capcom 2 or Capcom vs SNK 2 for competition are long since past. This is where kids go to try and win tickets for prizes, still it’s great that the arcade is still going but the games are in need some serious maintenance. This could be one great retro-​arcade if some TLC was put in to it.

$ 2.95 entrance fee whether you play or not play. Can’t beat the 5 cent arcade games! Some games require 2 or 3 nickles but still considered a great deal. Prizes are ok. This place does need some remodeling/​rearrangement. A few games were out of order during my visit. You may want to think twice if you’re germophobic. Bring a lot of hand sanitizer.

Came here for the first time when I was around 14yrs old. It’s pretty cool at all the games you can play for just a nickel. Now that I’m 24yrs old o still enjoy coming here every once in a while. My recent visit was on a busy Saturday and to my surprise a few of their machines were out of order. Everything looks outdated. An interior makeover and bringing in new arcade games could help benefit. I’m loving that punching bag arcade game that tests how hard/​fast you hit. Always an enjoyable time none the less.

Very clean as arcades go. Staff very friendly and helpful when games would run out of tickets. Some if the most patient staff when it came to the kids getting their items when trading in items.

Nickel Arcade! What more do I need to say. Staff is awesome always help when a machine is on the fritz, and yea the place had a little smell, which in my recent visits wasn’t lingering too much. But great fun for this boring town.

Went on a Friday night & honestly wouldn’t go back. Half of the machines just took your nickle & wouldnt work the other half wouldn’t give you tickets. The machines are super old. Even the kids we took said «this place sucks»

I went at 10am on Saturday celebrating my friends graduation and the owner was working. This five stars is for owners customer service alone! I could have spent all day here!
The only downside is MANY of the games eat nickels (which isn’t that big of a deal because it only a nickel.) but many of them don’t give tickets when they should and that is very frustrating.
But I understand it $ 2 to get in and with all games only costing a nickel upkeep cant be that big of a priority.

$ 2 entry fee per person and then a nickel for games. There was only two people working there on a saturday night and a lot of the games were out of service or needed service. Regardless of the chaos, the employees still managed to be friendly. DO NOT buy the styrofoam cups for a nickel because you’ll find a few hanging out on games or on the ticket counting machine. The kids weren’t really too crazy as I’d expect, but I would definitely have to wash my hands a few times after each use of a machine here. Some of the prizes didn’t look at all appealing, so I think it’s more of the enjoyment of games. Cheap date idea if your date is into playing games! If you’re trying for something more adventurous, laser tag is right across the street.

I give it 4 stars cause it smells and can use a little better ventilation I’m sure my kids give it 5 stars :)

After reading other reviews I have to admit it does smell like the inside of a show, BUT the place is really cool. A lot of arcade games that I grew up playing and pin ball machines and a few classics. For 5¢ you can’t go wrong some machines take two nickels. Overall a fun experience will be returning, spend over an hour here with two other people and we spent about $ 20 total can’t complain about that!

Very rude on the phone. I left a message for the manager and the manager never replied. When I called back, I was told that it was against policy to let customers know when the manager was at the store or what his (apparently his name is Lang) hours are.
Ridiculous.
I asked to speak to the owner, but that info is privileged, as well.

This really is one of the last places where a nickel can still buy you something, you can’t beat the $ 2 admission and 5 cent games, five dollars will keep you busy for hours there! I love going here, my only issue is that so many of the machines are out of order or have some defect. But it is a great, inexpensive place to visit!

If you’re bored and looking for something to do for a couple hours on a scorching hot summer day this is the place to go! Forget $ 12 movies at Riverpark or $ 5 drinks at Starbucks. For $ 10 ($ 3 cover and $ 7 for games) you can waste a couple hours here with some friends! A lot more fun and cheaper. The only thing is this place is dirty… yuck! But it’s a place to play arcade games who cares?

You get a lot of bang for your buck here. Entry is $ 2 and you get a nickle back and a wristband. There are a lot of arcade games and pinball machines in the in the center of the arcade. They have a lot of the classic, typical games that you would expect from an arcade. I didn’t see any games from the past few years but at this price and the amount of games they have you won’t really mind.
On the outside are the ticket games and one of my favorites in air hockey. First time I came here I mostly played metal slug, the simpsons, and ms. pac man.
TIp: They have buy one get one free coupons in the yellow pages. Bring some hand sanitizer but my friend told me they did have a machine somewhere in the arcade though I never saw it when i went.

Really you cant beat 5 cents to play video games. You basically pay like a $ 3 cover charge (tax included) and can play forever on like $ 5. Spend $ 10 and your basically there for like half the day… well maybe depends on the type of gamer you are.
Here they have the old school games and of course the new games which always tend to cost more than 5 cents… haha oh well just something i notice. From other reviews, they are right about the cleanliness of the place, but really what ya expect with a place that attracts game-​loving kids and is cheap. Believe me I did bring out my hand sanitizer out quite a bit, and used ALOT of it along with the nephew.
This place is one of those places to let kids be kids and have fun. Yeah youll see the «older» gamer that probably dont have g/f’s but at least they are outta the house and off the streets right? Its a nice little arcade with great A/​C and you really cant beat the prices.

I love video games. I love playing them at home. I like knowing where my controller has been.
That’s the only reason this place gets 4 stars… because other people’s germs really skeeve me and in my mind, arcades are generally ranked along with the bottom of my purse, bathroom door handles and shopping carts as the dirtiest places people touch on a daily basis.
At least here, I know I’m not being overcharged for the next flu bug I’m about to catch. Now if people would just stop looking at me funny when I wear my disposable latex gloves here.

You pay 1.95 to get in and then you get to play games and SKEE BALL for a nickel. And, would you believe this, they even have coupons in the phone book for bogo on the admission! That’s some pretty amazing cheap fun to me. And I *know* cheap fun!!!

I’ve heard that they don’t have the «latest» video games, but I was never hip enough to realize what games were in, so this seems like a bucket of smiles to me!!!
