Grilled Chz

Went here once. There’s a good variety of cheese and vegetables to put in your sandwich. Quality didn’t meet their price though. The turkey I got for my sandwich was those super thin kind… So was a little disappointed. The concept of this place is good though.

I had to give 5 stars just based on what these guys are doing to the traditional grilled cheese.
The borderbob is great. Spicy enough as not to burn out those with weak palates.
Also tried the sloppy chz with avocado… I have to say, I hate sloppy Joes. but this this is friggin amaze-​balls, as the old lady would put it…
The Mac and cheese is super creamy. I’m not saying it’s the best ever, but there’s something about it that just reminds you of home. Just based on the flavor of nostalgia, it’s decent.

Best grilled cheese sandwich EVER! Who would have thought there were so many delicious ways to make grilled cheese? Worth the visit!

I don’t know what happened to my review I wrote for GC about 8 mo ago, but I’m working up the notion to return. Trouble is, I’m working really hard to lose weight! But I think I can just limit myself to ½ or even ¹⁄₃ and bring the rest home. (Put it in the take home box BEFORE I get one little bite in my mouth!) I will probably limit any extras on the next one to only 2. I didn’t like the fig last time, but I sure liked the rest of it. And I love figs. This just didn’t work for me. I like the caramelized onions and maybe mushrooms. Can’t wait to return. Remember folks this is barely more than a typical fast food place, so don’t expect service to gush all over you. They’re nice, they greet me, help me with my order, and make it and I can stay and have it there or take it home. I think it’s a cool addition to Fresno. I just discovered Mike’s Pizzaria closed! Don’t want to lose this one!

I’m a grilled cheese «purist». I like mine with plain white bread and good old American cheese. I went «wild» and had them add bacon. O.M.G. Perfect! It’s my go to sandwich now! They do however have a ridiculous menu filled with any kind of crazy you can dream up from different breads, cheeses, and fillings! Even dessert! S’mores anyone?!
I’m not a fan of everything though. The Mac n cheese? No. Just no. The cheese sauce is bland and grainy. Not at all what Mac n cheese should be!.. Cheese fries? Again, no. Just no. The cheese used in their macaroni? Same stuff. I will say that I know some people who really like that cheese. But no way for me! Bland and grainy freaks me out.

Wonderful! A little pricy but in my opinion it’s worth it. You can customize pretty much every sandwich. And the desserts are great! The staff is super friendly and helpful. Glad we tried a new place and will def be back!

Grilled chz Restaurant is a great place for an excellent Grilled cheese sandwich! They have a good selection of cheeses, breads, grilling butters, & lots of choices that can be stuffed into your grilled chz sandwich! That’s not all! They have sides you can add to your sandwich, everything from soup, fries, chili fries, sweet potato fries, mac and cheese and more! and then you can finish your whole dining experience with dessert!

Creative ideas don’t always live up to want you expect. Neat place. Good food. Prices good for what you get. The kids are picky and they eat everything. I would recommend cause who doesn’t like a grilled cheese sandwich with anything you can imagine on it.

I had to stop at Fresno’s newest grilled cheese spot because of the name. Honestly, I was driving to my hotel and spotted it and immediately made a beeline over because I was starving.
The place has a lot of options to hit that cheesy spot. Some memorable items included a mac and cheese grilled cheese, a sloppy joe looking one, and some concoctions with veggies. If you’re feeling creative, they have a huge menu board with various ingredients to create-​your-​own concept to make sure you’re adding in everything and anything you could possible want. You can literally find something that suits your tastes. If you’re not sure how everything works, the people at the counter are super friendly and will help get you where you want to go in terms of tastes and combos.
Is there such thing as a healthy grilled cheese? Kinda. But I don’t eat the sammie because I’m watching my calories. I went with the caprese version and I liked it. The bread was nice and buttery (like an amazing piece of garlic bread) with melted cheeses, basil and onions. There were a lot of onions, so I picked them out — but overall, I really enjoyed my sandwich.
I went with the combo and got the tomato soup and a drink. Because it was cold outside, I was really looking forward to this liquid warmth to dip my food into, unfortunately, it was pretty bland and had no flavor. I let the owner know and he told me that they are new and working on the recipe to find that sweet spot. From that info, I’m assuming they make the soup in house which is great. I’m sure it will be a hit once they find their flavors.
I’d come back for another try when in the area. Being a new business, I liked that the owner was walking around to see how people were doing and asking for honest opinions of what they just ate. That’s how you perfect the art of what you’re doing!

There is nothing better than GRILLED CHZ! The staff is friendly, upbeat, positive and you can tell they LOVE to be there. Everyone is super friendly and willing to help you through the decision you have to make (i mean there are millions of combinations here!!) Definitely kid friendly and there’s no way any adult that walks in here could possibly disapprove. The food is fresh and made with pride. Price points are perfect compared to all of the yummy food you receive. Its a creative spin on all of our favorite foods growing up. Soups, Chili, Mac n chz, yummy steak fries and sweet potato fries. Sandwiches grilled to perfection with yummy melted cheese, flavored butter options, and cheese on the OUTSIDE of the bread! They offer call in orders and they also cater! can you imagine going to a kids birthday party (or even an adult party!!!) and having all of these amazing grilled chz options? One thing is for sure, The creator of this restaurant is a GENIUS! everyone needs to try this place, so GO GO GO!

I’ve been to this location twice, and it has been a great experience each time. A young man has helped me both times and he has been super nice each time. I wish I knew his name so I can name his specifically. The sandwiches are yum & I will be back!

I’m so glad I found such a place here in Fresno. I love grilled cheese and this place definitely didn’t let me down. I had their extreme cheese sandwich (I think that’s what it’s called) and it was delicious! How wrong can a sandwich be when it had mac + cheese, bacon and onions in it? I also made it a combo so I had the bisque soup for my side and it was sooo good. Grilled Chz serves healthy and homemade gluten free food and it’s totally value for money. Everyone, stop Unilocaling already and make your way to Grilled Chz now! Not forgetting the owners are really nice people too who value their customers!

Will definitely be back with the kiddos. Loved the texture of the sandwich very crunchy. They also offer gluten free bread! Can’t wait to try the different sandwiches.

This place was awesome! If you like homemade grilled cheese sandwiches you’ll love this place. It’s all that and more! The options are incredible. I love it. I’ll be back for more for sure. Brand new place. The staff was courteous and helpful. They were very friendly. I highly recommend this place.

Awesome combinations. I admit I am not a Mac n cheese fan. But this was fun and tasty

Went here for the first time today since I found a get $ 10 worth of food for $ 5 on Fresno Dealsaver. The gentleman who was cashiering was super friendly and helpful to my husband. He was showing him pictures of best sellers. He got the Extreme Cheese which had I believe Parmesan cheese on the outside and grilled onions, mac n cheese, bacon, and cheddar on the inside. I got the Swiss on wheat they had on the wall with bacon, mushrooms, and caramelized onions. We both got combos with mac n cheese and I also got a bowl of tomato basil soup. My sandwich was really good. My husband’s was just ok and super greasy since it had cheese on the outside. Though the mac n cheese was made fresh it was just ok as well. The tomato basil soup was good. Overall, decent food but way overpriced. I would not go back. I can go to better places for the price.

Love the new location… we were sad when you closed the Clovis one… but we still drive to the other Fresno location when we crave for a grilled cheese sandwich. This location is bigger (and better – LOL). The staff is friendly. Loved the cashier because I watched him help his customers out by recommending or explaining each step. I know mgmt. reads this, so let him know…:)

A much larger location than the original on Shaw but the food is just as fabulous. As with any freshly opened business, expect some kinks as new staff is trained.
