Went in to buy an aveda shampoo. Asked for a sample, and before I could finish my sentence about which sample I wanted the girl at the counter cuts me off immediately saying that she doesn’t have any samples of anything at all… Charges me for my $ 40 shampoo and proceeds to put it in a tiny shopping bag that doesn’t fit the 1l bottle. I tell her it doesn’t fit, and she goes on to tell me that it fits«perfectly.» The top of the bottle jutting out of the bag that’s about the size of my iPad mini. She then rudely asks if I need a bigger bag… Maybe customer service was subpar bc I didn’t spend very much, in her opinion? Maybe bc I didn’t require the hair salon service? In any case I will not be returning here, when I can order the same thing online without having to deal with rude customer service, free of shipping charge, and with samples.

Had my first experience there this past Sunday and I was very satisfied. Jenna cut my hair just the way I wanted it. It was a very short cut so she made sure to talk me through it to make sure we had the same vision. I will be coming back to her for all of my hair needs. I have yet to try the other services they offer but In time I’m sure I will.

So let’s just say the service at Amenities is superb. I have been getting my hair cut there for a few years and have been absolutely satisfied. And like others have said, they give you little messages — that along with the fantastic job keeps me coming back even though it is kind of expensive. But I’m committed now on a new level. I went it this morning for a special occasion updo and it looked beautiful when I left. Unfortunately, within an hour and a half one side just sort of fell out. I called them and they talked it over with management and they refunded me the $ 65 it cost get it done. It was a shame t fell out because it really looked amazing! I will be recommending Amenities to everyone!

I came here once before when donating my hair to locks of love(October 2013) and I wasn’t super impressed. I decided to give it another try today because I was desperate for a trim and I’m glad I did! I called around 9:15& got an appointment with one of their«senior stylists,» Megan. I ended up paying $ 55 for the cut and a little extra for tip but it was worth it. She was the first stylist to actually understand what I wanted and do it in a way that worked for my hair type(I have VERY fine long hair). I will be back!

There is no other place I could trust for my hair color and haircut in Fresno. Love Amenities. Its in great location in Fig Garden and love the ambience. Everyone is super friendly and helpful to what products should be used. Waiting for my next appointment :)

I have been coming to Amenities for a few years now since I moved back to town from college in the Bay Area. Des always does an amazing job on my hair and even recommended some highlights that I could get done with low maintenance on my part. I have also received other services here such as eye brow waxes and facials and they never disappoint. I have recommended this place to friends and although it is a drive from Sanger, it is definitely worth it!

I don’t know why this place doesn’t have five stars. When I went today I was greeted by a friendly lady asked me if I wanted any water or tea. I was able to go in my appointment early. Yeng did an amazing job. He gave me a nice head massage and shoulder massage. He was very relaxing when he washed my hair. He was so friendly and nice. He knew his stuff. My hair came out amazing. He talk to me about product and was very knowledgeable about the product to help me with my frizz and dryness. I hope Yeng is still there in the next few months so he can cut my hair again! Yeng if you are reading this thank you so much and I will see you in a few months!

Yesterday was my second time getting my hair cut at Amenities. I generally seek out Aveda salons due to their excellent customer service and the quality of their stylists. Monica(a Master level stylist) at Amenities is no exception. When I arrived the girls at the front desk were very nice and prompt; they offered me water while I waited. I keep my hair in a severe blunt cut bob with straight bangs. Apparently this is a difficult haircut due to the precision involved. Often after a haircut I have to snip loose ends and reshape my bangs. I haven’t had to do this either time I had my hair done here. I recently moved to Long Beach from South Carolina, so I know I will have to find a local salon, but when I come visit my parents in Fresno, I will try and squeeze in an appointment! It’s worth it– I love this place and I love the way my hair looks!

NEVERGOHERE. I will save you $ 200+ dollars. I went here and spent $ 325 on extensions that THEY approved. I was then told that they wouldn’t die the extensions to match my hair AND they completely MESSEDUP my hair and after spending $ 200 they told me it would be an extra $ 50 to fix it. This is the worst hair place I’ve ever been to. They won’t listen to you during the consolation and then do whatever they want or whatever is easiest for them.

Wanted to find a good colorist for my mom who just has short thin hair. Because she was visiting me, she could not do her own hair. The other Hair salons I had called did not have any openings. My mom was given an appt. with a young inexperienced hair colorist Who charged $ 75 for sole full hair coloring of my mom’s very thin short hair. (yes, just color without any cut or style!!) No discussion was made or suggestions for what color combination For best turn out was offered. I just noted that the hair stylist just picked a hair color Herself then warned my mom that it might turn darker based on how Her hair would react. If I had not been to multiple salons and known how different hair colorists Handle their customers, I would not have known better.

The worst haircut I’ve ever received. I explained to the receptionist that I was having professional photos done twice in the next month, and needed a commensurately skilled stylist. She gave me a stylist that had only three years of ‘experience.‘ He cut across the back of my head like a bowl cut. I’ve seen enough good(or at least, competent) stylists to know that one should never do this. A few minutes later, he gave me a mirror and asked if I wanted anything else. Seeing 14 strands of unruly hair poking out of my new bowl cut, I pointed out that it was uneven. Stylist: «Would you like me to fix it?» I: «Do you want me to walk out of the salon looking like this? Stylist: «Of course not.» He proceeded to «fix» the errors, but in the process the left side was now much shorter than the right– by almost an inch. An INCH. At that point, I had to ask him to stop. What is doubly infuriating is that they had ‘master’ stylists that were available only a half hour later, but did not give me that option. This gentleman, while a very nice person, is of a student level, and should not be cutting hair. The reception staff did not listen to my request for a skilled stylist and sent me a student.(All he spoke of was how he wanted to learn more, but there were precious few classes available in the area.) I came home and after the hair dried I see that my hair slopes down from left to right, with a huge tuft of hair sticking out of the left side. There is a noticeable bunching up of the hair in the middle. It looks like what happens if you cut the hair of a barbie using children’s scissors. I will let it grow out and then go to a competent salon. The overall impression of this salon is that they do not listen to you during the consultation, and at least some of the stylists are sub-student level. I would advise people to be *extremely* careful about who touches their hair here, because it seems the standards are very low.

I was disappointed at being turned away for having my son with me. While I understand the policy, I wasn’t aware of it. And circumstances were that my appointment was at noon on a Wednesday. There was only one other customer(haircut) that I saw, and there were four available stylists and a receptionist just chatting in some chairs nearby. Again, I understand the policy… but I’m not going back. All I ask is the business owner consider the alternative: Man and son walk in ready for appointment. Staff explains policy but makes an exception due to not being busy(and it being the man’s first experience with Amenities Day Spa Salon). Thirty minutes later man is happy that things worked out. Man will certainly be going back(knowing not to bring a child). Three days later man gets around to writing a 5-star review for the great customer service he received.
