Mian is CLOSED. Unilocal will probably take down my review again although there are three others stating the same thing. I also posted pictures that the restaurant is closed and has a new sign up. Do not go here expecting to eat a meal, because they are no longer in business.

This place used to be so awesome when it first opened up! Their chicken sliders, roast duck and congee were on point!.. Sadly after it sold to a different owner everything seemed to change and mostly for the worse. Décor went from simple and authentic to stale and boring. Not only that the prices went up and the menu seemed to want to copy everything from Japanese to Chinese to whatever fusion they attempted to do. They seemed to have lost their identity, which originally to me was simple inexpensive, authentic and delicious food. I’m really sad to see it go:(

Restaurant appears to have been shut down as it has been closed for almost a month. There’s no sign on the door or anything so it seems like something happened?

My dining companion and I Came here for noodles but became completely addicted to the deep fried string beans which I would have never considered ordering had it not been for all the raving from fellow Unilocalers. It was delicious and now I join their ranks in recommending it. The fried shrimp with spicy mayo was good too. He ordered the omelet with pork and I created my own noodle combo: ramen noodles with curry broth and beef. Both of us enjoyed our meal and will back when we are in the area. They have a good amount of tables and in early afternoon all were empty except for ours. The service was quite attentive(predictably so… since we were the only ones there.).

Mian was showing up on GrubHub as a new restaurant that delivers to my house. I looked up Unilocal reviews before I decided to place an order. My fiancé and I went with the chicken and shrimp sliders and my all time favorite dish, beef chow fun. The food surprisingly blew us away. Fast delivery and Mian definitely delivered on the food. We will be ordering more from this place for sure! If you’re contemplating whether or not you should try Mian, you should go for it!

I was first introduced to Mian when I went to a Unilocal Elite event at Cunningham Tennis Club. We had delicious chicken sliders and dumplings, so I went to the location in Queens. The restaurant itself is very nicely done. It was spacious and the menu had a little bit of everything. The first time I went with my boyfriend and we order a bunch of sliders, sesame chicken, and noodles. The sliders were excellent(I’m very partial to the shrimp sliders) and the portion of the sesame chicken was large and it tasted just how it should taste. The second time I went with a group and I tried the Tom Yum Soup. It was so spicy I couldn’t even eat it. I ended up sharing my friend’s pork chop platter which was very tasty. Again, the sliders were great. The reason why this review is 3-stars and not 4-stars is both times the service was very slow and most of the beer selection was not available. I really hope Mian is around for a long time because they have some great dishes that I could eat forever!

Mian offers quick service, competitively priced options, and filling food. All together, the restaurant offers pretty good value. I like that the dishes are a bit eclectic and have influences from several East Asian cuisines including Cantonese, Singaporean, Thai, Vietnamese, and more. I had the Singaporean style Mei Fun. The dish was comprised of thin noodles cooked with shrimp, pork, chicken, eggs, and curry. It was a sort of East Asian smoargasburg. I preferred it to be a little spicier, so I added some sambal to the dish: it paired well with the flavors when used in moderation.

Been here once before to dine in, it is very spacious and I’ve never had to wait to be seated but I never came during a peak time, this review is for takeout, I came in and ordered and my meal was ready within 15 min, the food itself is very good and fresh I got general tso’s chicken with brown rice, the portion is pretty big and the food was just right not overly salty like many places make it, good spot

I first tried these cats at a Unilocal event. This was one of those events with multiple vendors, but really the only one I just HADTOHAVE was Mian. After the Unilocal event, the gf and I stopped in to Mian. There was one reason and one reason only I wanted to go there – the sliders! They have, legit, the best sliders I’ve ever had in my life. The grilled chicken slider is an absolutely delicious, balanced, slice of heaven. Their shrimp slider – also bloody amazing. It was the highlight of the Unilocal event and the highlight of our first visit there. Why the 3-stars then? Well, the gf and I went there and the sliders and service were the only really good things to speak of. We both got some cocktails and both cocktails were well below par. For $ 10 – 12 dollars a drink, I was really hoping for something more than the mixers. I had some noodles and the gf had some sesame chicken. Both dishes were good, but nothing special and nothing you couldn’t find anywhere in Flushing, except it would have been better in Flushing. All that being said, the customer service was great and the sliders – again – were to die for! Fair warning though, parking is rough as it’s right on the highway and the surrounding blocks are residential.

What a fun Cantonese /Asian Fusion Noodle Spot. Happened to come upon it looking for a storefront nearby. It was a pleasant surprise. They serve Cantonese style wontons, and a few variety of noodles(rice noodle, ramen, egg noodle, chow fun, and lo mein). My hubby loves noodle soups so this was right up his alley. I ordered the beef chow fun — as my dad would say, «you know the restaurant is good if they make a decent beef chow fun». I can’t rave about it but it is definitely better than the take out versions nearby. The noodles were perfectly cooked — my only comment was the beef was a tad chewy and not as soft as the seafood restaurant counterparts. Perhaps just needed a little more pounding or corn starch. But all in all a fun dining experience. My daughter loved their fries… go figure — light and airy, skin on the ends. They offer sliders and other quick/small bites like chicken wings and apps. You just gotta read through. Something for everyone. Must try their fried calamari… it’s salt and pepper style. Easy on the eyes and tasty with the right amount of crisp. They looked pale or whiter than the usual but that added to the appeal. Comes w/a sweet chili dipping sauce. The noodle soups hit the spot for a cold winter day. BTW, they sell roast pork … it’s not Chinatown style but close … still better than the take out places nearby. Notable drink/bar counter seating with alcohol to match. And the restroom was clean! Great establishment. I will definitely return to try their other stuff. It’s worth a trip back. The table service was prompt and hospitable. And the servers were quick to answer any questions I had.

Very standard options for Chinese food, but much better in terms of quantity and quality. Their chicken and shrimp sliders are on point. The chicken is very well seasoned and full of flavor and the shrimp is nice and crispy. I always get the beef chow fun because it’s so tasty. The shredded beef is so tender and their flat noodles have great texture. This is a normal sized restaurant, very clean and comfy, not very large but just fine for group meals. Staff is friendly and they allows check on how you’re doing.

I pass this place quite a lot and have always been intrigued in Chinese food options outside of flushing. What I had not expected was an upscale Chinese fusion place that seems to appeal to a more modern generation of patrons. Unfortunately I had not been able to eat at the restaurant, but I have ordered take out from them a few times. The broad noodles stir fry with beef is definitely a go to option. I also had the chance to try the Singapore stir fried mei fun. While I’m generally not a fan of that kind of noodle, it definitely does taste delicious. Now when I mention that this place is appealing to the newer generation, i’m referring to the decoration and the interesting choice in appetizers. The chicken sliders were definitely an interesting find on a Chinese menu. The bread on the sliders were soft and springy and the chicken was definitely well seasoned and bold. What really made the sliders was the coleslaw. The slaw had a spicy addictive taste to them and made me crave more. Good job to Mian on bringing such a unique source of Chinese food to Fresh Meadows. While not authentic, this place definitely has potential to grow in this neighborhood…

Definitely get the Rice bowl w/ginger scallion chicken(still thinking about it and hoping to replicate it one day). I had the lunch special grilled pork chop(which came w/one slice of cucumber and one slice of tomato… really?!) but was eyeing the BF’s ginger chicken the ENTIRE time. Next time I come, I will get the chicken sliders bc it seems that’s a hit. The service was friendly, quick seating on Sunday lunch time(although crowded bc of large group), accepts CREDIT, and plenty of parking around the area.

Delicious! The couple times I’ve been here they’ve always been empty(around 2−3pm) but the food is very good. You get to combine different variations of soups/noodles/toppings. We got the udon noodles with curry. But they also have tom yum soup and chicken broth. The wonton topping is very good and tastes fresh! They also have a drink menu and a bar inside. I also recommend trying the fried string beans with spicy mayo, they tastes like French fries but with a(healthy-ish) twist!

I don’t know when. But they changed the layout of this place. The chairs and tables are more comfortable and sturdy than I last remembered it. I like this place, it’s small but it’s never crowded where you have to wait for a table. The service was great and the prices for lunch were reasonable. Ordered the chicken slider, creamy shrimp with mango and beef ramen tom yum soup. I liked the chicken sliders and surprisingly I liked the mango with the creamy shrimp as well. The shrimp was well fried and the mango was ripped. The Tom yum soup was spicy but I did not really taste the sourness of the soup. I’ll come back next time to try the other appetizers and the shrimp sliders :)

Got here before but after their renovation, this was my first time here. Menu had changed and I think the owner was changed too. they have good lunch special and they lady did give some good suggestion on my selection of food. However, the air condition was bad as it will frequently stop due to the automatic cooling system. It sometimes felt hot when it stopped. Cheap price, great amount.

I went for lunch. I tried the shrimp sliders and the spring rolls. The spring rolls were really bad. Tasted like the packaged ones I would get at BJs or Costcos. I Wasnt impressed with either. It’s a big shrimp on the potato roll, but it was lacking in the size overall as an appetizer dish. I was disapointed with the amount lunch items they had that were priced«lunch» prices. From what I remember, there were only 3 – 5 items… for LUNCH… WHAT? HOWDOYOUHAVESOLITTLEITEMSONTHEMENU? I got the Mian special rice noodles. It was around $ 8. It was a bit too salty for my family, but I thought it was okay. I guess I tolerated it more. Service was nice and attentive, but I wouldnt come back again since its a bit out of the way and food was good or priced suitable enough for me to come back again. I honestly dont see why it’s a good place to eat. It was ¼ full. Also, there was a centipede on the wall near us so that freaked me out. Luckily, it never moved.

A hidden gem in fresh meadows. I pass by this place a lot and I always seem to forget it exist. Went to check out this place with my girl and it was surprisingly pretty empty. But that’s fine with me as I like the quietness and space. They have quite a selection of entrees and also a selection of drinks from their bar. The food here was great! I had jumbo shrimp with mayo sauce and a side order of calamari, both were very tasteful and filling. What I really enjoyed was my girl’s dish, I tried her filet fish and it was amazing! This place has a very spacious interior and the seats are pretty comfy. Great place for groups! It was also very clean and you can tell it’s some simple but really quality stuff in there. The staff is also helpful, friendly, and attentive. I will be coming back to try more stuff!

I came here with the wife and kid and let me tell you, this place is excellent. We were greeted politely and seated right away. The restaurant was really clean and staff was very friendly. The food was outstanding! I ordered the grilled pork chops, my wife ordered the grill chicken, and I ordered the chicken and broccoli for my son. I also ordered the shrimp sliders for an appetizer which were so freaking good. I tasted all of the above and was so impressed by the flavors. I will definitely be returning here often!

My friend took me here one night. when both of us were famished and looking for a bite locally. Plenty of parking around here, cuz its all residential. My friend happened to be good friends with one of the new owners here too, which was cool. Place looked small from the outside, but inside felt spacious, clean, well maintained. Service is great. Had a nice bar, but when we went, they didn’t have their liquor license yet. The thing that stood out to me from the menu. was their INSANELY moist and tender chicken sliders. O.M.G. When you look at it, it’s just a piece of chicken and veggies, in between 2 buns. No big deal. But when you bite into it, the chicken is juicy and very tender. Not overly done. Very tasty! I promptly ordered a 2nd! :D
