Hirshfield Eye Associates

This review is for the optometrist Miss Seiden in this office. Summary: 10 months of back and forth, Unprofessional, confrontational, not-​patient oriented, and does not hold accountability for when she miscommunicates.
Appt #1 ⁹⁄₂₀₁₄ scheduled with Dr. Hirschfield. Waited 1.5 hrs and was examined by an optometrist, Syden. She said she put in an order for two types of contact lenses so I can try both and purchase whichever was more comfortable. Paid $ 150 upfront for the lenses as requested.
Appt #2 (3 weeks later) scheduled with optometrist to try on new contact lenses, which should have arrived a week ago. Waited 15mins, hooray! She asks how the contacts were, not realizing I was here to receive them and comments I could have come to pick them up last week. She said she’ll go get them. She walks up and down the hall a couple times while I wait. Verdict? «Sorry, it never arrived.» Blames the front desk for not letting me know. Yeah… Go home empty handed and time wasted.
Visit #3. Received call to pick up the lenses. I arrive, and it’s only one pair. Not two… I ask them to check with opto. It’s just one trial lense. Where did the other one go? I take it and try them on at home. Doesn’t fit right. … It’s now 12/​2014, about 3 months have passed since my first visit, and not a single call to see how the contacts fit or to make an appt.
UPDATE #1: So I posted the above review on Google+ and received a call the following day from the optometrist, Seiden. She apologizes and tells me she’ll get me the right contact lenses, and for the next couple months, I drive back another couple times to the office to pick up the trial lenses.
Ten months later 6/​2015, we’re finally ready to order, and Seiden tells me I need to pay $ 79/​box for the contact lense of choice. This confused me. I paid $ 150 upfront in last Sept for the contact lenses. When I inquire, Syden’s story suddenly changed to she never said that the $ 150 was for the contact lenses months earlier. Apparently it was for the contact lenses fitting. She starts yelling at me, saying how great she was despite mis-​ordering contact lenses (like it’d be both for both left eyes or one is still en route). and that I posted the Google review without giving her a chance to follow up! I gave her THREE MONTHS before posting that review. For me to drive out to this location for trial lenses and be told it’s not there, or it’s both for the left eye, or etc… enough already. I told her to just mail me the prescription.
UPDATE #2: I just received the prescription letter in the mail and it is not the prescription of the trial lenses I tried on. Unbelievable. I would give ZERO stars if I could for the lack of professionalism. Wasted so much time and $ 150.
I’m going back to Pearl Vision on Northern Blvd with Dr Cho. Free parking and all about the patient! Hirshfield Eye Associates is not worth the trouble for a pair of contact lenses and hidden high cost. Pearl Vision got me the same lenses for $ 50/​box.

I saw Dr. Hirshfield for lasik and he explained that my corneas were too thin and that he could do epi lasek or PRK. He spent a lot of time evaluating me personally and did most of the measurements himself. He warned me that it may hurt for a few days. Well it hardly hurt at all, my vision was acceptable in the first few days and now at one month my vision is ²⁰⁄₂₀ in both eyes. Iam so happy I had the surgery with Dr. Hirshfield. Also, the staff was wonderful and the office was very new and clean. Highly recommended.

I’m Wasn’t a fan of Doctors period! Until I meet with doctor Gary Hirshfield. I have been a patient of his for 2 years now and I really have a good relationship with him and his whole staff. Speaking of staff, The ladies there are very professional. They also treated me like family. I love this place.
