History

Established in 2012.

Franny Lew Wine & Liquor is a family owned and operated fine wine and liquor store located just off the Long Island Expressway in Fresh Meadows New York. The owner is a winemaker and they also have an in-​house sommelier on staff to answer any questions you may have. Special orders are their forte; so if you are looking for a particular wine or liquor which you just can’t find, just let them know and they will track it down for you. They have the lowest prices and the widest selection of wine in the area. Also for your convenience they have tons of parking. Best liquor store we’ve been to. Steve is super knowledgable and there to answer your questions. He gives you great recommendations from different wine selection. The place has unique bottles that you can’t find in a lot of places and if they don’t have it — Steve will graciously tell you where you can get it. This is our liquor store of choice! You can’t go wrong coming here.

I enjoy nice wines and have shopped at many different shops, auctions, etc. Steve and his team are second to none with competitive prices and a willingness to provide outstanding service. Best liquor store in the area. An endless selection of wines with a constantly updated stock. Not mention, it’s clean and well organized. There’s an extensive selections of liquors with a lot of local options. Prices are great for both wines and liquors.

Steve and Staff are very helpful. Must admit, sent him on what I thought would be a wild goose chase looking for a specific wine I love. He made Christmas eve special by finding what I was looking for and taking excellent customer care of everyone I’ve sent there. This ain’t no Costco where you take what you can get. The personal service is worth paying extra for but nine times out of ten– you don’t.

Good location as it’s in the Waldbaums/​Blue Bay Diner parking lot. Some staff are more knowledgeable than others. All staff are helpful and will spend the time talking to you about your needs. If you don’t know what to buy, the staff picks are a good bet. I usually come here to stock up on wine, whisky, maybe a vodka and definitely champagne for the holidays. If you are looking for a specific item, you should call ahead and ask if they carry. Place is neatly maintained. Prices reasonable. Worth a trip if you are in the neighborhood.

Excellent liquor store with a awesome selection of wine and spirits at affordable prices. The store looks small from the outside. However, this store is very large in size with a huge selection. The store owner is very knowledgeable and friendly.

Favorite wine shop. 2 reasons 1). Large selection (some wines are sold here that I can’t find in inventory in any of the NYC wineries) 2). Hours and days open are convenient!
Also this place has great wine tastings every now and then. They usually have 40 – 50 wines and complimentary food. If you get on their mailing list they will email you the days for the wine tastings. Worth the drive.

The owner of the store also owns a vineyard in Napa, CA. Not only a wine retailer, he also has a great knowledge in the viticulture of wine. The shop has an in-​house sommelier who’s been studying for the Master of Sommelier/​Taster exam, hence great in palate. The owner and the family are very helpful and nice people. Though they might not carry as many exotic varieties as the higher-​end liquor stores in Manhattan, but they are happy to order wine for you. I am definitely going back again.

At franny lew there is a large selection of wines! There is also a variety of liquors. The owner and family are so very helpful without being overwhelming or in your face. If they do not have what you are looking for they are very happy to make sure to have it the next time you visit. The prices are very reasonable.
