A dream of my fathers was to make eyeglasses affordable for everyone. Not just to have one pair, but be able to afford multiple pairs so that a customer can have a spare, or accessorize their look with more than just one color or one style of eyeglass frame. With eyeglasses at most shops costing in the hundreds in 1984, he decided to open the original Factory Eyeglass Outlet with this in mind, with a starting price of $ 24.95.

We provide our customers with the same lens and frame products as other optical stores, only at one third the price.

But inexpensive does not mean cheap and out-​of-​date. We are one of the largest digital lens dispensers in the area for both progressive lenses and single vision. With our lab partners we provide our customers with the most fashionable frames, and most technologically advanced lens designs. In other words, we will provide you with the BEST eyeglasses you’ve ever had, at the best price.

History

Established in 1984.

Our first location was in Brooklyn on Avenue M between Nostrand Avenue and East 32^nd Street. That location still exists, although it moved a few blocks to Nostrand Avenue and Quentin Road in the late 80’s. Since the start we have had the same mission, and to that end we still maintain a massive selection of eyeglass frames for every look, and all of the latest lens products available at the best prices in the New York area. Currently there are 7 Factory Eyeglass Outlet locations in New York, continuing to provide clear vision at incredibly low prices.
