VK Travels

First, let me say this. It’s impossible to please Indians. Seriously. I’m not saying mistakes and errors don’t occur and this company may have made some errors, but I have dealt with Heena and VK Travels for years. VK Travels is the only travel agent I keep in my phone.
I rarely write Unilocal reviews but I had to tell the public my experience. I have purchased a number of tickets to various destinations from VK Travels. They have been great! Courteous, timely, cost effective and most of all efficient. They have made other wise very expensive trips, affordable. They have helped on package deals and last minute tickets, and they have stayed competitive with online purchases, except in one instance when Heena told me to purchase the ticket via a website. So, seriously, this company is pretty legit. Those people thinking of using VK Travels should go ahead and do so. They are certainly professional and I’ve had only good experiences multiple times.

I have been booking my tickets for international travel from VK travels for more than 10 years and have not had issues. In fact they have always gone out of the way to get me a good price and provide me with all the necessary info and gotcha’s with different airlines and routes. I have even had to make changes and cancellations at odd hours which were handled with a lot of professionalism.

First of all they are not at all professional when they talk to the client. Second of all they are not willing to work with you to make your trip. I called to book a trip to India such that I land in New Delhi and then I go to Bhopal, my request was to book the trip in one itinerary so that I don’t have to pay for the extra luggage in domestic flights. First the lady didn’t have complete information, she said this is not possible but I said I checked with the domestic airlines in India and they say if the entire trip is booked in one itinerary they allow the same luggage (free) as allowed on your international airlines. After checking online to confirm my understanding I called them again and the lady was not even open to listen to what I have to say. She presumed that I am not going to book the trip thru her, and started to yell in a very rude voice that «Are you going to book the trip yourself or thru us», I said «thru you if you can book entire trip in one itinerary»… she was like «No, it is not possible»… I said there is a travel agent in India who can do that, but it is midnight in India and I have to book the flights so that I can get the promotional offer of Emirates… so she said in the typical rude and unprofessional tone «then you should book the trip with that agent»… I was shocked that in such a competitive world how can she still have a job!
Don’t try them! Doesn’t worth the insult and pain!

My experience: I was looking for a ticket to India, and Vk Travels by far got the cheapest deal during a busy x-​mas period. It was using Eva Air/​King Fisher, which I was not fond of multiple airlines because I would likely need to change dates, but I was rest assured that I could call the airlines directly or VK would do for some fee. I was happy with that.
When I went to change the ticket date on return, suddenly everything went sour. They were quite frankly rude and insisted I do it myself. Even if I paid them they would not, stating that the «We cannot touch the ticket». Yet I called Kingfisher and they stated that ONLY Travel Agent could only make the change. So after much runaround I got VK to change the ticket. Imagine being stranded in India try to fight over the phone with this kind of service.
Finally I need to change it a second time. As the other reviewers pointed out, they they were insinuating I had committed a most heinous act when I asked for a second change. I was about to loose ticket, when FINALLY I found out there is a secret Kingfisher call center that has a «Travel Agency» that can do this and I got my change. If VK had known this number and procedure I would of avoided this whole aggravation and did it myself.
If you get a cheap ticket and can for sure know that you don’t need changes, you might be fine. Otherwise be in a for a not-​so-​fun ride. I will never go through travel agency’s again, expedia/​yatra/​makemytrip/​cleartrip for me for now on.

This is the worst travel agency I ever dealt with by a mile — so bad that I seethe long after that unpleasant phone call with an abrasive, rude, and ultimately extremely unprofessional travel agent. Can’t I give zero stars?
As the other reviewer pointed out, things were ok until they got my money. It’s during the follow up that things go downhill, and boy how far down they go.
The woman I dealt with was extremely rude and defensive when I called about charges for flight changes. She assumed I was picking a fight; I didn’t call to even complain, only to get more info. She also claimed that she recorded our calls (!) and hence has proof she’s not at fault for any extra charges!
She then screams at me for directly contacting the airline (to specify meal preference, which she should have done in the first place!!) and tops it off by saying how she doesn’t have time to deal with me and, get this, threatens to cancel my ticket! Days before my travel!!! She then hangs up on me mid-​sentence and refuses to answer my calls.
It’s amazing that for someone in the hospitality business this person doesn’t even have the slightest customer orientation or professionalism. I’d rather pay hundreds more than be subjected to this abysmal behavior (not that their fares are that competitive anyway)!
Avoid them like the plague!

These guys are a joke. They act nice until they get your credit card authorization. I just asked a simple question to see if they can do anything about the price fluctuation for one of my airline tickets. Because every body wants a better deal. The person who answered is screening at me as if I have done the biggest mistake asking that question.
I strongly don’t recommend them. I had a better experience with span travels. They are more customer friendly.
