I’ve been going to this salon for a while but am moving elsewhere. In my opinion, they charge too much for services. I get a very basic root touch-up for my grey and am charged $ 100 plus when presented the iPad to pay my charges, the tip starts at 20% and goes up from there! While I know that I can put in anything I want, I think it is very rude to present that to a customer. And while wine if offered, it is cheapo 2 buck chuck. Really kind of funny for a place that(I think) is trying to be upscale. I can go to many other places that appreciate my business, do excellent coloring and don’t charge outrageous prices.

I’ve been coming to Tangles since it was Bay Street salon. I moved away and when I came back it was Tangles. It’s by far the best salon in Fremont. Jen Ramos cuts my hair, and she’s the best stylist I have ever had. I highly recommend using her. I found out recently that they offer massage therapy. I had my 1st massage with Andrea today. My only regret was I didn’t book the 1−½ hour, I only booked an hour. The prices are a little high, but worth every penny. Very professional, and very talented. One of the best massages I’ve ever experienced. I will be visiting 2x’s a month. Feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. The staff that works the front desk is awesome. They are very friendly, professional and take care of clients.

This place owner has a huge attitude problem and overall they have super bad customer service. So you rather go to another place to have a peaceful salon service. I bought blowdry groupon coupon for this salon– and after taking appointment and mentioning the same before service they denied taking the groupon! To top it they asked me to call groupon for refund and everyone beside my stylist was super rude! I mean the receptionist told me — I can’t help you, if I do I will be in trouble —(I guess after all she has to deal with that ridiculous boss) you have to wait for my boss and then she had no idea when boss will come. After the so called rude boss came– he explained they can’t take groupon on Saturday — I asked him why was I not told when I mentioned about my coupon before start of service and he was like well am telling you now– I was like what kind of customer relationship management is this? Very very disappointed — he asked me to walk out if I don’t wanna pay! This is very disrespectful and absurd. Usually if there has been such policy they should inform customer before! Worst salon experience– I will continue with MSalon or visual image in Fremont. I wish I can give them negative star! I feel sad for Tori the stylist to have work for such a rude boss! Never going back ever again!

One word… AMAZING! I was needing a haircut for a while now but hadn’t had the time to call and make an appt! Ive seen and read about tangles! Today I decided to call and see if they could see me, and luckily they had something available at 6pm with Andy! I was excited and scared because my hair was a disaster! I came in a little early, their customer service is amazing! As soon as I came in I was helped and offered a drink while I waited! Andy(owner) then brought me in looked at my hair and gave me his advice! He worked his magic! I loved the results and the tips he gave me to maintain beautiful hair! He was very friendly and loved the conversation we had! I am looking forward to come back in 10 weeks! My experience at Tangles and their employees was just amazing and perfect! Highly recommended and trustworthy place to come, relax, and get the best services.

Want a great color, ask for Vanessa. Want a great cut, ask for Vanessa. Vanessa is great at listening to what you’re wanting and she will make suggestions. It’s a collaboration of client and stylist. She’s also fun to talk to.

ANDY never fails to create a master piece with my very thick, course, wavy hair! It’s hard to find stylists that can effectively work with the volume of hair that I have, but he has always done magnificent work! The price is on the steeper side… but beauty doesn’t come cheap and his skill is worth every dollar :) I always leave the salon feeling like a million bucks! My hair is healthy, shiny and cut and color are on point. I’ll post a picture of my hair after my most recent appointment! Smiles

I get maybe one haircut a year since I’m a forgetful person when it comes to hair care, but Amanda Pagan here is the best. She not only does a fantastic job of doing my hair, but she gives me styling tips for when I have to do my hair on a daily basis. She’s very talented and I will continue to come see her as long as I’m getting haircuts :) The salon is lovely too, they offer you wine, champagne, mimosas, or some infused water when you walk in. I highly recommend coming here for some pampering and beautifying. [edited for spelling]

Omg, I can’t believe I haven’t written a review for this place yet… must have been because I went here before my Unilocaling days. Anywhooo, I went here for a Keratin treatment on May 28, 2013. I remember because my hair was virgin until then lol. My hair was treated by Chela, who happened to go to the same high school I did, but I didn’t remember her(Because I kept thinking of her name as Shayla, but when I was leaving the salon, she gave me her card and it said Chela and I was like ohhhhhhhh, omg she does not look the same!) Anyway, she did a great job and I think the process took about an hour and a half. It was $ 250 or $ 300 for the treatment and I tipped $ 50. It was little pricey, and a splurge for me because I don’t spend anywhere close to that on my hair on a regular basis… I can probably get haircuts for 2 years instead. Anyway… I guess this place is on par or actually a little less expensive for Keratin treatments, but it was supposed to last me 3 – 6 months and I think mine faded earlier. Also you have to be really careful not to use sulfate shampoos after this treatment.

I have been a client here for(I think) three years now. Indeed, if you look at their pictures, I am the one with the blue and purple ombré color. Boy have I changed colors, haircuts, lengths and the likes! Andy has always been incredibly nice, staff is usually great and(unless I start doing crazy stuff to my hair or I am too lazy to book my appointments on a timely manner) I get compliments about my hair literally until the day I go for a retouch/haircut. I have searched all over Fremont when it comes to price and while they are not cheap, this is one of those places that you get what you pay for. I have changed colors and haircuts enough to know that a $ 20 haircut won’t do it. I am not planning to change places any time soon! Note: I have to say I never use it BUT if you join their newsletter you get specials and discounts. I should actually use those!

I purchased a Groupon for a shellac manicure with Laura and I love it! She went out of her way to converse with my daughter and even asked about her when I went back for my next appointment. I have not had any issues getting an appointment and the front desk staff has been very polite. Not only do her manicures last me far longer than any other place I’ve been to, but she continues to give me a discount because I’m a «groupon customer.» I’m telling you, she is wonderful!

I went here at the end of November ’14 and got a really awesome pixie cut! It was a great place to go to because they really helped me understand my hair type(which is like an Asian boy and has the tendency to go Super Saiyan at a certain length) and took their time cutting it to perfection(: I don’t normally go to expensive salons, but I’ll definitely be back… when I have money…

I’ve come to Tangles a few times, but never had my prom hair done before. Amanda is amazing and I go to her every single time I come here. She does a great job and is very sweet. I got my prom hair done beautifully and it stayed in place all night. I loved the outcome of my updo for prom and everyone loved the hair as well. Definitely worth coming to Tangles.

Bad experience here. I got my hair and makeup done. Hair — okay, but WAY overpriced. The hairstylist was 20 minutes late, which wasn’t good considering that my schedule was time sensitive. My hair turned out fine — but not fantastic. Definitely not worth the $ 200 I was charged for a touch-up with no hair-cut. Glad I didn’t opt for a trim, who knows what that would have cost me. Make-up — by Laura Rodriguez was absolutely horrible. I told her in advance that I don’t wear a lot of make-up and I look strange with heavy make-up. She then proceeded to make my makeup really, really heavy. I have never worn so much makeup in my life. When I saw myself afterwards I wanted to cry, I looked absolutely ridiculous. She insisted that because I was having my pictures taken the makeup would look good on camera and look good in the photos, even though I was uncomfortable. I actually felt bad, because she seemed offended that I was upset. Photos were taken and I look exactly how I thought — ridiculous. Not only did I waste money having my makeup done by her, but I wasted the money spent getting my pictures taken because I look so strange in the photos.

This review is for the nail service with Laura. I bought the Groupon for 3 shellac manicures. My first appt went fine enough. Laura makes a lot of conversation and keeps things friendly. I do feel like she often talked to me like I was her/a child, when I’m 28 and that’s not necessary, but it wasn’t enough for me to dislike her by any means. I asked for a chevron design and she explained it would be «a little extra.» It actually ended up costing me another $ 12 and it wasn’t even that great, so I left annoyed. My next appt was for my wedding day nails. Laura made a mistake doing my french manicure shellac, and had to quickly redo an entire nail. It was done sloppily and so an excess of polish was built up on one side. These nails lasted me 4 – 5 days. For shellac! I could’ve painted my nails and gotten a better wear. In the end, I found Laura to be a nice enough woman, and my issues came with her talent not her customer service. If I paid the actual price for her shellac manicures I would have been so angry! It’s not worth what she charges by any means. I also never went back to utilize my 3rd appt– just wasn’t worth it.

I have been going to Amy Hopper for 8 years now and still a regular. She is a Matrix color specialist and always does a fabulous job. I have never not received compliments on my hair. I trust her implicitly with my hair and there aren’t a lot of hair stylists that I can say that about. Here are some pictures of my recent color. I also have been going to Laura Rodriguez for my nails, for the past 10+years. Friendly, professional and such a great lady. She talked me into shellac polish and I have been hooked ever since. I highly recommend these ladies for hair and nails.

Amanda P. is my girl! She has been doing my hair for over 8 years, and knows exactly what I like. I just recently went to her for a cut and ombré color. She is truly an arteeeeest. My hair always look so remarkable after, and the color and cut lasts for over 6 months. The price is totally worth it when you don’t have to constantly go in for touch ups or trims.
