Sparkle Nails

It’s my second time here and I have a better experience this time with Cindy. I came here early weekday morning so they’re not busy and she took her time for my nails. Last time was a weekend and I can tell she rushed it through. Glad to be back on a day she’s not busy to give it another try.

I had gone to sparkle nails pre college days and moved away for college. When I got back, there had been an ownership change, for the better! The ladies here are great now! This is the only place I go to for nails anymore. They’re very accommodating. Amy and Jenny pay close attention to detail. The only reason I did not give it a full 5– stars is because the interior could be a little more inviting. They need an interior revamp.

Amy is the sweetest. She’s been doing my sisters nails and my moms pedicures for years now. I finally decided to go back and get my nails done here since I was in the area.
$ 25 full set + $ 12 gel, not bad.
Nini did my full set & she was amazing. She made my acrylics so thin! She went all the way to the nail base & every nail is even & symmetric!
*after getting my nails done in the South Bay for the last year, I realize how you pay for what you get. Although Nini did a great job, Sparkle isn’t up to par when it comes to cleanliness, nail designs or color selection. They had very little to choose from and the nail swatches they had were very dirty and outdated.
All in all, id rather pay more in the south-​bay at my regular nail shops BUT if I am in union city and NEED my nails done, I would come here.

Jenny here is the best and Lily too. I get gel mani and pedi. I usually find designs I like and Jenny does them for me. I also get my eyebrows and upper lip and underarm waxed. They have never hurt my hand or feet.

I’ve been coming here for about a year now and I don’t go anywhere else to get my nails done. I live in Palo Alto and I make it a point to cross the bridge just to get my nails done. Amy is the best! She always makes time for me and does exactly what I want with my nails. I just show her a picture and she does it. She is so friendly and kind. Unlike other people/​salons she never tries to pressure you to get designs or extra services for you to spend more. I love how Amy does my nails. If you come see her, you won’t be disappointed!

I often don’t like getting my nails done because everyone has a different experience. I really missed having long nails so I decided to just get a set done. I originally intended on going to Niles but they weren’t available so I went to the next choice which was here. Overall, the service was great. The girl doing my nails was friendly and did a great job making sure I liked the set. I paid $ 20 for a full set and I left really happy!

I have been coming to Sparkle Nails for over six years now. Jenny and Amy are my go to’s and they are EXCELLENT. I always go with my friends or family and Jenny remembers everyone and kindly asks about them after every visit. Making an appointment is nice and easy over the phone. The place is nice and clean, and I love their massage chairs. They have a good selection of nail polish colors. I usually get a spa deluxe: soak, cuticle care, nail trimming, filing, polish, moisture mask, and hot stone foot/​leg massage to relax for my pamper days. I get super relaxed while my circulation is improved. They even use warm towels after your treatment.
They do have different selections for which mani/​pedi you want, so there is something for every budget. You get your $$$ worth.
Very family friendly — I take my grandma here sometimes and she is Diabetic. Amy always does her nails and is always gentle. She also has bad asthma especially from the smell the ladies always offer her water and make sure she is taken care of.
My niece also loves the buttery fly chair that they have. They truly gave her princess treatment.
I also get my eyebrows done by Jenny. I have very thin, sparse eyebrows but Jenny always knows how to shape my eyebrows right. She’s the only lady I go to for my brows.
I never leave Sparkle unhappy, always good customer service. I am definitely coming back.
And BTW, a lot of men come here with their wives/​girlfriend. The ladies here never make you feel uncomfortable. Don’t be shy! :)

It was my first time here to get a full set done. The reason why I came here was because my friend usually comes and her nails are always super classy and cute!!!
I called on the phone and booked an appointment. They were pretty busy when I came in, but the man who was working in the front was super nice and greeted me. Jenny is the one and did my full set. She is definitely a sweet lady. Really nice to talk too, and she makes sure you get what you like. I wanted to be courages and get a mood gel color but she said it will look weird if the bottom of my natural nail changes to a different shade to the tips.
Amy was the one who put my actual polish. She’s super nice too! They are all really personable and ask how you are doing. My nails turned out how I expected them to be, and I liked the color so much! I’m definitely going to come back if I want to get a fill :)

I came in again today to get a fill, thank you to everyone who works here, and Amy again for doing my nails so great! Finally got the man’s name at the front, Brian. Shout out to Brian for being so helpful.

Hello, this an updated review. So the original employees of sparkle nails are gone (sad face). When I returned and gotten a pedi done from them I was so upset and disappointed. Completely rushed the process. The lady did not even scrub my feet, did not even bother to put any blue color in the water. I mean my cuticles were still there it was bad. So I didn’t even bother to get a pedi done. I use to drive from Hayward to this place but now they pretty much suck save your money and time and go somewhere good. Even my nail polish was so bad that I had to go home and remove it by self and look for another place.

I went here to get a pedicure and a manicure. I have sensitive feet and its very important to me that the ladies that do my pedicure are gentle, the girl was slightly rough on my feet but nothing to bad. The nail color looked good and the pedicure was well done. As for my hands i did gel. It looked great and it was rather quick. The lady that did my hands was a bit rude with the way she asked me stuff but she did a good job making my hands look pretty.
I also did my eyebrows and it was amazing. Quick as fuck and almost painless. That was the best service i got. 4 stars because the service was a little bit rude but the product was good.

After reading so many reviews about Jenny and how good she is with acrylics, I felt the need to come to Sparkle Nails to get two of my broken acrylics fixed and the rest of my nails filled. With this said, I have previously gotten my nails done in Elk Grove and needed to get my nails done while I stay in the East Bay.
I called in on Friday to see if I could schedule an appointment with Jenny. The gentleman on the phone said that she would be able to see me in 30 minutes for what I needed.
Upon arrival, I was greeted by the gentleman I spoke with on the phone and then kindly introduced to Jenny who said she would be with me in a couple of minutes. I did not mind the wait since I came in past the 30 minutes, and since it was a Friday, I expected the shop to be quite busy.
While waiting, the gentleman asked me if I was going to do gel on top of the acrylics. I said yes and he promptly gave me a bunch of colors to choose from. It was very nice to see that the selection of gel colors were vast and some of them were organized by «mood changing» and some by brands like OPI. While waiting for about 5 minutes and trying to select a color, Jenny finished her client and told me she was ready to see me.
I went to her station and she brought out a clean towel and some clean tools to work on my nails. From there, she assessed my two broken nails and the previous acrylic set I had. I told her that I wasn’t so satisfied with what I had because the bottom of the nails were too wide and looked funny to me. Jenny said that she can make the nails less wide and look more natural. Jenny then asked which color I’d like to get for the gel. As I was stuck between two colors, I asked for her suggestion. She suggested a light purple which I thought might be too light for my liking.
From there, Jenny got to work and filled my nails and fixed up my two broken nails. Before applying the gel, she told me to tell her if I saw anything that needs fixing so that it is to my liking. I had nothing to criticize and let her put on the gel.
Once she was finished with the gel and all the light fixings, I was extremely satisfied with the result. Jenny did everything I asked her to do when I sat down in the chair and selected a color I thought I wouldn’t like, but ended up really liking.
What makes Sparkle Nails an even better place is that Jenny was able to repair a nail I broke yesterday, today. I broke the nail due to my own fault being too rough with my hands and nails and a corner broke. Jenny was able to fix my nail and I anticipated that she was going to peel off the whole acrylic and redo the whole nail. Instead of doing something as painful as that, Jenny took the time to remove the gel and just repair the area. Again, Jenny failed to disappoint me and did an awesome job.
I plan on coming back here to get my future sets and fills.

This is my favorite place to come to relax and get pampered.

I’m so disappointed. I’ve been coming to Sparkle Nails for years now, but after today they will no longer have my business.
My sister and I came in this morning and they took us right away. I got a pedicure and she got a manicure.
My pedicure turned out decent. The nail polish on my big toe was really thick on the edge and it looked like it would peel asap… I was right.
My sister got a new set of acrylic nails. When we drying our nails she let me know that they didn’t work on her cuticles. When I asked LOAN she said they charge extra for cuticles… UMMM cuticle grooming doesn’t come with a MANICURE?!? So stupid. Also, they didn’t file the back of her nails, so she had glue chunks and all of the stuff still left.
We came back later to show them their mistakes and ask for them fixed. They were so rude. Loan told us to go to another lady to file them. While I was waiting for my one toe to dry Nina told me it should be fine. When I told her I wanted to touch it to check she said «No, it’s not dry! Let them dry in your car.»
I’m not even kidding…
Only reason I’m not giving them a 1 is because of my past experiences.

Polish on the big toe smeared. So disappointed.

I called on a Sunday afternoon for my sisters and niece and I to have acrylics and a pedicure done, and the gentleman who answered the phone gave us the ok to just walk in.
They have a decent selection of nail polishes and gel colors to choose from. My niece brought one of my own polishes to use for her acrylics, which they didn’t mind.
I love Nina!!! I think this is my new go-​to gal. She’s meticulous with her work, takes her time, and applies the acrylic to the cuticle and it isn’t thick at all. My sister had Loan do her gel set, and apparently she did everything by hand (no electric tools), and her set came out lovely! I took off one star bc the lady who did my niece’s nails seemed like she was rushing, and her acrylic looked pretty thick (couldn’t catch her name). My other sister’s pedi came out looking great and she enjoyed it!
Def coming back.

First visit was pretty good I had to tell the nail tech (Loan) to fix a few areas, besides that my nails were pretty nice for a first visit I will try a few more times before I come a regular.

They are currently the most price-​friendly option in my area ($ 26 mani/​pedi), open late (7:30), have reward cards, and work fast and efficiently. I was done and fully dry within 45 minutes.
It’s often crowded so definitely call ahead, and you’re realistically not going to get any relaxation given the atmosphere, but if you have things to do with your day and just need great paint and cuticle work this is the place to go.

Amy gives the BEST shellac manicures! I can go 2 – 3 weeks without chipping a single nail. She also does crazy good nail designs! Sometimes I don’t even pick my own nail designs… she just does what she thinks will look good. I’ve been 100% satisfied with EVERY mani I’ve gotten from her.
The only reason why I don’t give 5 stars is because the quality of their pedicures is REALLY hit or miss.
Nonetheless, I’ve found my go-​to nail spot!

Love this place! It’s always my go to for nails and today amy did a wonderful job with my nails! I took three diff pics and wanted to mold all designs into one and she did it perfectly!
