I have gone here twice and had a gel manicure– the first time, I had just gotten engaged and needed a nice French manicure to match my beautiful new ring. Diane did the French tips free hand and they looked absolutely gorgeous! She put a silk wrap one one of my nails that had broken down below the skin, and it held remarkably strong. However, my nails kept breaking(less to do with the manicure and more to do with my actual nails) so I had to go back after less than two weeks for another. This time, they put silk wraps on all of my nails and did the gel, and they didn’t charge me any extra! They have held up wonderfully for almost two weeks since, and I will definitely be going back. I subtracted one star just because it seems a bit disorganized there, I saw someone come in and leave before having their appointment because they were waiting too long. There were only two technicians and they seemed a bit backed up, but if you are willing to wait, I’d say it’s worth it!

I agree with the review of Annie R of San Leandro. Either this is going to be a walk-in salon and take everyone on a first come, first served basis, or it takes and keeps appointments. If it makes apoointments, it should not squeeze people in between and make regular customers wait. A ten-minute delay is not bad, but I have been to salons where there is zero delay. I have been a customer for at least 13 – 15 years and this has always been an issue. Otherwise this is an excellent salon. I had to leave today because they were not ready for me and I had another appointment afterward. The problem is not with the manicurist but with the owner. I may have to change. Too bad!

This is my go-to place, and I always recommend it. I can’t even deviate from my usual(french tip gel) because they do it so perfectly! I’ve been helped by almost, if not all the ladies and I have never been disappointed. The first time I went, I unexpectedly got a hand/arm massage after my nails were done and I was in heaven. The only thing is, there may be a bit of a language barrier with some people, so you want to pay attention and be as clear as possible, but it’s posed no issue, it’s just a heads up. Truly, truly love this place. I’ll be going back soon, hopefully it’s still amazing!

Came in by chance and had Diane. I wanted my own nails protected and she suggested silk nails which no one does anymore. The turned out beautiful! The silk nails were then covered in gel polish and it lasted more than two weeks with no chips and was as shiny as the first day! It is a bit far for me to travel but well worth it. I can’t stand thick arcrylic nails and this was a perfect option. Not to mention she only charged me 30 dollars! I’ll be back soon !

These ladies are great! I have been coming here for years and they take their time, and never rush through a mani or pedi!

Today I cannot believe I had the worst experience as silk tech. my feet were butchered by a non enthusiastic nail technician. she was so rough with my feet and cut me a few times, when she started my nails she didn’t even notice there was clear polish on them even though it was chipped. When it came time to pay I was told that the credit card machine didn’t work but when I attempted to get up to go get cash from the ATM miraculously it began to work. I will not be returning to this salon for services. so not happy with the end result of my nails or my pedicure it looks like nothing was done.

If you want gel nails that look amazing and last, ask for Diane. She is the owner. Pros: 1. They take cuticle cleaning seriously so that you do not get lifts and bubbles under the polish. 2. The foot baths are lined with plastic bags so you never get anything from other clients 3. They speak perfect English and understand when you want something done your way 4. They make you feel like family there Cons: 1. They only have 1 pedicure chair so most of the time you will sit in a regular chair with the portable foot bath. This is the only reason I did not dive it a five star rating. If I did not move an hour away, I would still go there. Miss this place!

I have been going to this place for at least 13 years and never been so disappointed lately. The staff are nice people however they can be inconsistent and when they are rushing, I got my cuticles cut so deep and having my nails filed so roughly. The tips of my nails have never had any discoloration till lately and the polish chips so fast when I get shellac which supposedly last for two weeks. I like Mary for the pedi.

I went to this nail shop after work, looking for a new salon because I can’t find a good place to stay with. Most places have bad service and cheap product. So I gave Diane a chance and I’m so happy with her work, my nails look so beautiful! She took her time even though it was late in the evening. I will definitely go back. I found my new nail shop!

Okay I’m gonna tell it like it is. This shop is different in that it lacks the«spa» atmosphere. But really I don’t care for«spa» service. I’m sure as heck not paying for one. This place provides cheap clean service and you can’t ask for much more than that. It’s a family run business and they’ve been around for years. I love supporting local businesses like this so I am glad they are so good at what they do. Really love that they use disposable files/buffers as well as bag their foot spas for pedicures(only place I know that does this). Not gonna lie I’ve cheated on Silk Tek Nail before and have always come running back.

Diane had been doing my nails since December and I really appreciate how detailed she is. She is also very nice about troubleshooting any nail issues you may have. My nails last until my next appointment and I have switched out my acrylics for natural nails with crystal powder for added density since my natural nails are always thin and fragile. I also want to mention a lot of nail salons are bad at keeping appointments and are afraid to turn away walk-ins if they have to, but not this place! The longest I have waited with an appointment is 10 minutes and that had only happened one time and wasn’t a big deal. I’m really happy about that!

I came here on a Saturday afternoon without an appointment and was helped right away. I got a shellac manicure($ 25) and a pedicure($ 20). The shellac manicure was amazing as my nail technician spent a lot of time on my nails and had a variety of colors to choose from. I’ve gotta say that the pedicure was pricey, most places only charge $ 15, but my nail technician spent an entire hour on my toes. I loved every part of the pedicure but could have spent more time with the massage especially for $ 20 and needs a larger variety of nail colors. Overall, GREAT service and I will return!

Really like this place. They were able to fit me in on a busy Friday night. Dianne does awesome shelaq. Pedicure lady was good too, my french tips weren’t too thick, Prices are reasonable as well. They don’t have those pedicure chairs so the whole experience of getting a «spa pedicure» isn’t there but oh well! just as long as my nails look good it’s fine. Would definitely come back.

I came into Silk-Tek on a Wednesday evening with no appointment. The two women working greeted me warmly and were happy to be of assistance. Though they were friendly, I was not impressed with the rest of their customer service. I was debating on whether to get shellac, acrylic, or silk wraps. My issue was that my nails were already very brittle so I wasn’t sure if acrylic or silk wraps were the best way to go. The woman kept pushing for me to get shellac from the beginning after I mentioned I wanted acrylic. She kept discouraging me from getting acrylic and I felt like she was only doing this so she did not have to spend a lot of time doing my nails. Lucky for her, I decided on shellac since it was the«healthier» option for my dry, brittle nails. I wanted a pedicure as well and got frustrated when both women kept trying to push color suggestions on me. I decided to disregard their suggestions since it wasn’t what I wanted at all. The pedicure wasn’t even a very good one– they only had one chair and kept it for someone else who was coming in after me. Instead the woman sat on a rolling stool and just had me dip my feet in and out of water. I didn’t think it was too big of a deal, but I was disappointed by the experience. If you’re not familiar with shellac– it involves a lot of layers and putting your hands under the UV light multiple times. After the lady put on the second coat of color… she started spraying my nails with alcohol. I was a little confused because I noticed she had not put on the top coat, which helps protect the color. Then she started wiping it with the swabs and insisted she was done. I noticed the color was coming off and pointed it out to her. She tried folding the swab pads inconspicuously and I had to motion towards it and open it to show her. Only then did she admit she did not put on the top coat and had to redo the color and top coat. Can you believe that? She actually tried to convince me that the color was not coming off. My nails turned out well and I was happy with the end result. However, it has been 5 days since I got my nails done and shellac is suppose to last about 3 weeks. Tell me why my nails are fading from the top? I have had shellac done on a number of occasions from other salons and have never experienced this. I don’t even want to bother to call them and complain because the service was terrible and I have concerns about the cleanliness of the shop. They were eating before I got there and didn’t bother to wash their hands. Some of the tools they grabbed out seemed to be dirty and they would put it back in the drawer and fish for another one. By far, this was the worst nail salon experience I have had.

I’m so happy about my nails! Diane suggested that I remove my gel acrylics and get shellac, which is just gel polish cured with UV light on my REAL nails. I haven’t seen my real nails in over 3 years and it was the best decision to remove the fake ones, it feels so good and natural. See pic: The shellac lasts about 2 – 3 weeks looking shiny and new but I can last up to 4 weeks max with no issues. Diane is very attentive and pays a great amount of detail to my nails, but you’ve gotta come in expecting a 1.5hr appointment with her!

When you call for an appointment you have a 50⁄50 chance that the staff may be ready for you when you arrive on time. When calling for an appointment, I asked«tell me what you have available.» The owner stated, come at 6:45. I showed up at 6:45 and waitied until 7:10 before walking out. Both the owner and the other manicurist were no where near finishing by the time I left. If you do not have time, tell me — do not tell me to show up when you have clients This is too bad becuase Michelle is a wonderful manicurist. She does great work and is very nice. It is too bad her boss has no concept of customer service.

This is my favorite nail salon in the Fremont area. If I’m in Fremont and I need a mani or pedi, this is my preferred salon. Here, the girls(and guy!) have all done amazingly thorough work, and they take their time to do it right. I am a stickler for trimmed cuticles, and they make sure to get every last skin-tag cut. This was also the first salon where I ever experienced nail buffing, and I love the shine that this service provides. I also very much enjoy the shaping of my nails. This salon fixed a toenail that used to grow in, simply in the way they shaped my toenails. Awesome! The one drawback: as I said, they take their time, and even if you have appointment, you are very likely to wait. But they are well worth it!
