I love Dr. Dobee, she’s a sweetheart, confident in her work, calm, and quick. However, I am so unhappy with the billing practices here. This clinic is out of network for my dental insurance. I have been paying everything out of pocket for the last year, and trust me, I’ve had a lot of major work done.
I ate too much darn chocolate over the holidays, and am now in need of a crown. I was provided an estimate of close to $ 2500 for the cost. I was also told my insurance would cover $ 1000 of the procedure and the rest I would pay out of pocket. Now I don’t exactly have a problem financially, and I don’t mind paying for good quality service at all. I was just scared because I didn’t think I’d need a crown at my age. So, I called around other dentists for second opinions and ideas. I was quoted an average of $ 1600 for a crown, from dentists that are just as highly rated if not more. Now, again, I didn’t mind because I like the work Dr. Dobee does and I feel comfortable. I was quoted a little less than $ 1000 (without insurance) from a higher rated dentist for the same crown and material, including work. This isn’t the part that made me sad, just wanted to share in case cost is an issue for someone.
The part that bugged me is the money, honey. Having to put «down payments», on not only holding appointments but actual procedures, really irked me. I cancelled one appointment in the past because I had a cold, and I payed the last minute $ 35 cancellation fee. No problem, I get it. I’m also a doctor and I get it. But it’s not like I had an outstanding balance. I’ve actually paid almost $ 5k out of pocket over the period of one year, upfront, every single time. The accountant told me she speaks to insurance every Friday and a pre-​estimate was submitted to my insurance. I called my insurance today and was told my plan does not cover any major work. Bam. I would have had to pay almost $ 2500 out of pocket, which the office knew I would do. Again, the money isn’t the problem, it’s being shady and not disclosing this information to me. It’s not mandatory they tell me, but it’s unethical in my books.
I’m also a healthcare provider and the day my practice and my employees do such acts towards patients, is the day I take a vacation to look in the mirror.
I’ve also worked on my communication skills at this office. A few times I was pawned off onto other dentists for a variety of work; fillings, cleanings, pre-​filling anesthesia injections, etc. I made it pretty clear I only want Dr. Dobee to work on me. And as she is such a good dentist, she is always very busy and running late. I don’t mind waiting, and I always clear up my schedule as I know my appointments will start well over 30 minutes late. I schedule with Dr. Dobee and am not told another doctor will be covering her, but I simply let the front desk know to reschedule. It’s a waste of time for everyone, but hey, you got to ask for what you want.
They also had an AMAZING dental technician that did my cleaning late last year. But she left for a corporate dental position in silicon valley. Darn. She was like a robot! So quick, confident, and thorough!
Again, I do think Dr. Dobee is a great dentist. It’s hard to find a good practitioner, especially if you’re scared of dentists. I just had one too many experiences that don’t make for a good long-​term family dental office.

Finding a good Dentist is extremely difficult. So when I visited Sheila Dobee, DDS who came highly recommended it was a blessing. Being that I live in Santa Clara and her office located in Fremont I was skeptical, but let me be the first to say it was well worth the ride. Walking into the office I was met by Des at the front desk, who was extremely polite and highly experienced, I must say I was impressed! When I met Dr. Sheila I felt so comfortable. What really sold me was her attention to my dental problem. With that said she did a great job, MY TOOTH IS FIXED, YA! I recommend everyone to visit this Dental office. Thanks, Sheila and Des.

Just like the other post said, run, run as fast as possible from this office. I found Dr. Sheila through Unilocal based on all the good reviews. But my experience with her was horrible. There were 4 things I experienced through which I did feel that she doesn’t care about her patients: (1) The amount of the anesthesia she gave me was too much. The injection was not really on the gentle side. More of a rushed injection. So I did feel very painful. (2) She left me upside down on the chair after the injection and alone in the room for at least 10 mins, until I realized that she was not going to work on me immediately. And leaving me head down leg up in the chair was another sign of her carelessness. It was really very uncomfortable. I had to eventually shout out loud to let some assistant put me back to sitting position. She basically stood up and left me hanging there immediately after the injection. Big sign of her not CARE about her patients!!! (3) The drilling was rushed. It was not on the gentle side at all. It made me very uncomfortable. Was she overbooked? Did she end up removing too much of my tooth structure in that fashion? I would not know now. But it was definitely not a gentle drilling. (4) The biting. I told her the biting was off but she asked me to go home and let it settle for a few days and maybe that would solve the biting issue. What did that mean? I trusted her opinion so I went home but then I realized maybe she just didn’t have the time to work on me. Of course those several days I suffered and could not eat on one side of my teeth. Eventually I had to drive a long way back to adjust the biting issue.
I felt all her steps were careless and rushed. It was an aweful experience. If I could give 0 star I would. I suggest looking at the negative reviews first before jumping into making an appointment. She is really not that good. Now I start to wonder how many of these positive reviews here are real at all…

I moved to Ohio and had to make this mention about Dr. Dobee with the hopes she’ll see it! I MISS YOU DR. DOBEE! Needless to say my husband and I are now planning our future trips back to the Bay Area an will ensure Dr. Dobee is first on our list to visit. It’s so tough to find a dentist who takes the time, care and dedication that Dr. Dobee does. I’ve had everything from basic cleaning to a root canal (runs in my family). Dr. Dobee even called me over the weekend to see how I was managing. She uses the latest technology, has extremely gentle hands and a demeanor that warms up the entire office, oh and her staff, AMAZING! Besides top notch treatments, fitting me in even when she’s booked, she goes out of her way for her patients and by the time she’s done, you’ll be wanting to invite her over for Thanksgiving. I miss my dentist Dobee. I tried several in Ohio, but no one compares. I’m so grateful for the years of having you for a dentist, I sometimes feel I took you for granted, hence, my Unilocal rating! I’ll be back to see you soon Dr. Dobee!

Believe the hype… that is, the 5 star hype. Dr. Dobee is second to none and that’s all you really need to know. Her professionalism and interpersonal skills make for the perfect dentist. I will be with her for decades to come!

First off let’s just start off by saying Dr. Dobee is a over the top amazing Dentist! I met her through my Dad, which is long time patient of hers. As he had said many great things about Dr. Dobee’s office I had to come and try the office out. I can honestly say ever since my first time here I fell in love! (who can say that about Dentist offices? Not to many) From the time you walk in the door to the time you leave the staff makes you feel as comfortable as possible which really helped me out because I used to hate the dentist. Not to mention I can’t forget the associate doctors here at the office in which I have had appointments with, and they are too just as amazing and caring, trying to build relationships with patients and want you to have the best care possible. One time during a cleaning I had a conversation with Dr. Dobee so inspiring, shortly after I started a Dental Assisting program and now am currently in Dental Hygiene. You can tell she has a passion for dentistry and it is because of her and the amazing staff today that I have a passion for dentistry and now am starting my own career! Thanks Dr. Dobee and staff!

Dr. Dobee is the best! I have been going to this dental office since I was a toddler and she took over for my last dentist when he retired. She is very sensitive to patients needs as well as their fears. She has a passion for what she does and is very patient. Everything she does is with a smile and gives great care to all patients. She is detail oriented and doesn’t except anything but the best in her work. The office is clean and always willing to work around your schedule. Her office has the latest and best technology.
Hi highly recommend Dr. Dobee who is looking for a dentist. She is professional, knowledgable, passionate, sweet, honest and caring dentist. She gives back to the community and always helping children who are in need of dental work!

I am so picky with my dentist and finding Dr. Dobee was the best thing that happened to me when we bought a house in Fremont. I have had the best experience for almost four years with Dr. Dobee and her amazing staff. The office is sparkling clean, they are always flexible with making appointments, even on the weekends, and they have the best and latest technology in the office. I love the fact that her x-​rays are available right away and you get your results instantly. Since being with Dr. Dobie I have not had a single cavity, my gums have stopped bleeding, and best of all my teeth look amazing. I decided to get that perfect smile with Invisalign a couple of years ago which I have also been extremely satisfied with. I am close to getting my retainers and having straight, white, perfect teeth and smile and it’s 110% because of Dr. Dobee and her great care and love for her profession. She always says I want you to be happy with your results, so let me know if you want to fine tune further.
She has been so patient with me, as I am a major detail-​oriented and pain-​in-​the-​ass type of a customer/​patient if I am unhappy or unsatistifed. For me to be completely happy, I must be blown away with great customer service, pricing, and overall feeling of contentment, which I do feel with this dental office. Dr. Dobee’s dental office seriously makes me feel at ease and I can just enjoy my cleaning and services without worrying about anything going wrong, being charged too much, being late, or being unhappy with my results.
I also bring my kids to Dr. Dobee. My kids’ previous dentist just counted teeth, sang songs, and gave them treats after the appointment. When I switched them to Dr. Dobee we got real advice on how to better take care of their teeth and what the condition of their teeth were. I am so grateful for Dr. Dobee and the other great dentists in the office for bringing some issues to our attention that the previous pediatric dentist never mentioned.
In short, I highly recommend Dr. Dobee to anyone seeking a passionate, caring, sweet, and sincere dentist. She is giving (as she does a lot of volunteer work and helps a lot of children in need), a great professional with a lot of knowledge and experience, and lastly someone who you will feel proud to call your dentist.

If you are fortunate to see this post, my advice is to run away from this office as fast as you can. As opposed to most of the reviews here, my understanding of Dr. Sheila is that her technique is below average. I am not talking about her personality (she does have an up beat personality, to me, that’s her only advantage). I am talking about her technique and knowledge. She is below average. I am sure she knows it. That might be her biggest fear IMO. That’s why she compensates it with a fake warmness. A good dentist should be calm and thoughtful, not hyper and rush (like her). My whole experience with her was like watching the emperor’s new clothes unfolding. Dr. Sheila promotes her business heavily on Unilocal.She is a smart business man at most. She talks a good talk. But she does not have long term patients. Most of the reviews here are first time customers who use Unilocal.If you use Unilocal,her staff will personally ask you to post reviews for her (in exchange you get a chance to win a mini ipad, that’s clearly a bribe). Just read the reviews here carefully. She has very few long term patients. I learned my lesson in the most agony way. I got 3 teeth treated by her and lost all 3. One extraction and two crowning waiting to be done with another dentist. I have consulted many dentists after the failed treatment she performed on me. Extraction and crowning seem inevitable now because they are all aching. I deeply regret choosing her as my dentist (I also found her on Unilocal). She cannot work on difficult case because her technique is below average. Her office is so cramped, probably the worst conditioned office I have ever been to. Just look at her tiny front office, it fits 3 people (incredible, I feel sorry for her staff). I already got the refund from her. But the damage she has done to my teeth is irreversible. I do feel I should say something and warn people not to be misled by the reviews here. There are a lot of better dentists out there that don’t use Unilocal to promote their business (I guess they don’t need to, mouth of words already made them very busy). She is not a good dentist, she is a good business man. I do believe that people will eventually see through her and leave.

Very satisfied with my appointment here! I haven’t seen a dentist in years, and they were quick to accommodate me in while I was still in town for winter break.
I was a bit skeptical because I’ve always had bad experiences with dentists. During the cleaning they were extremely gentle and explained each and every single thing they did — very informative. I loved how sweet and close everybody in the office was, lots of talking, very lively when you were waiting to schedule or go in.
I had a cleaning and X-​rays done, and will be going back in for some fillings. They were very honest and suggested I go back to my original orthodontist for my new retainers, but if I’m unable to schedule an appointment with them, then I can come back here anytime! Definitely will be coming back here from now on, and I actually won’t be scared of getting a cleaning anymore.

I didn’t have any pain during or post treatment of root canal, and I also learned to take care of oral hygiene properly. Doctors and Customer Service is excellent.

I hate going to the dentist and haven’t been to one in a long long time.

I cannot tell you how relieved I am about finding a dentist that eases me through the entire process from being a new patient to follow up visits. I have been afraid of going to the dentist for so long. After being treated by Dr. Dobee and her team — that worry has disappeared. I cannot forget to mention how amazing and accommodating Naomi is to work with when scheduling and rescheduling appointments due to my work and personal schedules. I definitely recommend Dr. Dobee and her team.

After having searched for the ideal dentist for years, I can 100% say that Dr. Dobee is the best! I came to them with a lot of dental problems: needing everything from a cleaning to an implant.
While waiting for my implant they made sure to provide me with the best state plate possible. If they tried it on and it wasn’t a perfect fit or color, they made sure the lab redid it. It is due to this that I can now smile confidently with my natural looking and perfectly fitting state plate.
Dr. Dobee has also placed a crown on my back tooth and made sure it was the perfect fit as well. That tooth was chipped and could have easily needed a root canal, but she was so careful when prepping for the crown that she saved it from needing a root canal. I now have a great implant and experience no pain whatsoever.
I am now excited to be getting my cleaning today.
Not to mention, they also have an amazing sense of humor and crack me up each time I go. They have been very amazing, caring, and attentive to everything. I cannot thank everyone in Dr. Dobee’s office enough for giving me back my smile and confidence!

I have had horrible experiences with dental offices. After avoiding the dentist for many years I looked around until I came across this dental office on Unilocal and it had great reviews.
The location is in the middle of a quiet neighborhood. It has it’s own small private parking lot in the back and over all the facility is small but very clean and well maintained.
The staff was very welcoming and pleasant over the phone and in person.
Dr. Ethan Harris is great! He is very friendly and genuine. During the visit he used very positive words like,” I like” and «ideal» which made me optimistic about my smile. He took his time to explain the procedures and go over my medications, history and X-​rays before diving into the exam. He also did the cleaning and fluoride application himself which is great because at other facilities I have seen the assistants do them. He spend almost an hour in the exam room and discussed a couple of treatment plans. He was the first and only dentist that knew my filling was an actual filling and not a veneer (which would go under cosmetic and is not covered by insurance). He also recommended an oral surgeon which is available for consultations at the same facility.
Overall he was very knowledgeable and friendly.
I highly recommend Dr. Harris!

Love, love, love this lady!!! I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Dobee. She is always in such a happy, positive mood. Really gets to know her patients and truly cares. She takes her time with you and answers all your questions. I literally look forward to go to the dentist now!!! :) Her and her staff are always very friendly, professional, and do an amazing job.

Had an emergency procedure done recently by Dr. Jasmeen Aujla (part of the Dobee group).
I find her to be an excellent communicator, not wordy, but definitely keeps you well informed with what’s about to happen and what to expect with every step along the way. This helps a great deal to lessen anxieties. She is also quite observant – often preempting my need to speak with a well-​timed question. This saves me the futility and frustration of having to try to speak with numerous instruments and fingers in my mouth. Again, adds to the overall pleasantness of my visits. Furthermore, she does not try to up-​sell on any additional services. That’s huge in my book.
As for the work, Dr. Aujla is quite skilled. My crown feels just like the original tooth. The entire procedure involving 3 visits completed with minimal discomfort and almost no anxiety – entirely opposite of the nightmares of my childhood.
